As if Star Wars needed a fourth film, the trilogy is fine by itself and doesn't need any additional films. Next they'll be making the ewoks blink in the bluray re-release.

Let's all look at the bright side. Star Wars without Lucas.

After the fuck-ups that were prequel, I don't see how it could be any worse.

Why am I not surprised with all of this Star Wars bashing. -_-

It's starting to become a very touchy subject like Sonic and Transformers. Besides, Episodes VII, VIII, and XI were already planned years ago.

Don't be so touchy. People don't like their sacred cows being messed with. I mean, could you imagine if The Matrix got a sequel?

Since there are already dozens of stories about what happens after the movies, then unless Disney and Lucasfilm decide to adapt those into films - which sounds like that could be the case - a lot of hardcore SW fans (meaning EU fans) may or may not like this idea.

I don't know what to think, other than this has me curious, so I'll just wait until we have more info before making a judgement.

You mean the geek culture? This is what I'm talking about on why the internet community has the potential to ruin the entertainment industry.

Disney what are you doing? Make a sequel to finding nemo or something |:< don't tarnish star wars!

“Death is not a hunter unbeknownst to its prey, one is always aware that it lies in wait. Though life is merely a journey to the grave, it must not be undertaken without hope. Only then will a traveler’s story live on, treasured by those who bid him farewell."

The film industry was ruined right around the time Shia Lebeouf became an actor.

Much like the Pokemon fanbase, your group has no right to determine which is good or which is bad and shove it down to everyone else. How would you feel if an older audience tell you that their movies were better?

I think people are ignoring the real problem here. The problem isn't Disney at all, it's Lucas.

I would suggest viewing this video. There's a lot of "interesting" quotes in there, but at 1:30 it gets even moreso. He (Lucas) have made story-treatments to next episodes. Moreover, they pretty much say that they're going to make more movies based on those, at least that's what I'm getting from it.

This is, for Star Wars fans, a catastrophe. I'm not very opposed to the notion of Disney actually making Star Wars movies, but if they're going to make them based on Lucas' scripsts, that's just horrible.

Lucas is greedy, and not only does he get a giant lump of money from this, but he also gets to shit on the franchise even further.

Chances are I'd agree with them. My favourite films were made when I was young or not born.

And what exactly is 'my group'?

But what if they're bashing the films you grew up with?

The fans of the original trilogy, who are pretty much as bad as Sonic Genesis fans and G1 Transformers fans.

Well, so what? It's just an opinion. If someone said they didn't care for Blade Runner, then well, it's their loss.

As a fan of the original trilogy, ...um what? Just because someone does share an opinion with you doesn't make them wrong, it just means that they see differently.

Sounds more like to me that they'll be using the EU material (ie: books, comics, etc.) as a reference for the direction they'll be taking with these movies - which is what I was talking about in my post.
