Re: Is anyone bothered by the amount of scantily-clad women in video games?
I'm a guy, so I don't mind, but it's a slap in the face of feminism, and an insult to women, so they should be more modest with this.

Would you consider naked guys in games an insult to male rights advocacy groups?

I've never been bothered by it but then again part of it could be I only have one game on my PS3 that features a woman on screen, Metal Gear Solid 4.
Then again the photo shoot mode with the psychotic, skin tight, female protagonist at first was kinda disturbing.

Are ther male rights groups? Never heard of it. Maybe because the feminists scream louder. And, well, if women want naked guys in games, then let them, we already have had half-naked woman in games for 20 years or something.
Re: Is anyone bothered by the amount of scantily-clad women in video games?
I don't really care. There are plenty of really scary girl-oriented games that have men in gross outfits. Honestly, those kinds of games are more offensive to me because of how unrealistic they are. Men never act like those bishounen guys. It's just propagating a lie and making women's standards waaaayyyy too high.
Re: Is anyone bothered by the amount of scantily-clad women in video games?
As a guy, I'd naturally not care too much, but at the same time, it can be a bit depressing when it's excessive. I do think that inappropriate images, such as cleavage, should only, at the very most, be shown in M-rated games. In Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, there was a dark elf who basically only had her nipples covered, and it was a T-rated game; and then, there's the aforementioned Ivy.
I guess what I, personally, deem "eye candy" and downright excessive depends on what the girls wear and how much skin is exposed. There are other ways to make to make women attractive than only giving them half clothing, too. And I don't even play video games specifically for eye candy.

I think we should petition for the female swimmers in the Pokemon games to wear a 1-piece suit instead of bikini.
Nah.
But really, it doesn't bother me. It's just as bad on TV and in movies, except those are actual women and it's actually sexual. Like Fab said earlier, in the games it's just eye candy. Most of them time they don't have raunchy make-out scenes in a bedroom like you can find on half of the TV shows out there.
Re: Is anyone bothered by the amount of scantily-clad women in video games?
I feel like it's lazy game design. The developers just think adding almost naked women will sell with the bros and nerdy gamers. Look at GLaDOS, one of the best female game characters ever, she's just a computer but infinity better than "almost naked chick #28."
Re: Is anyone bothered by the amount of scantily-clad women in video games?
The amount, yes. The fact that they're there? No. I mean, look at all the hot guys in video games. No one complains about them, because there are plenty of modest males as well. Meanwhile, most women in video games are scantily clad sex bombs. THIS IS OKAY, as games are meant to entertain. The lack of modest females is what's the problem.
Re: Is anyone bothered by the amount of scantily-clad women in video games?
I don't see it like that and i'm a female. If anything I like playing the sexy female character in games.
Re: Is anyone bothered by the amount of scantily-clad women in video games?
Well sex sells and that's how the world world works plain and simple.
