Okay, there have been several questions and I'll attempt to answer them here. The content of this post will also be added to the main threads for easy access.

1. Evolution does not require battles to be completed. If a Pokemon only evolves via battling, you may simply evolve it to the desired evolution. If a Pokemon needs an evolutionary item, a cable link, or a combination of the two, you must purchase any necessary items for evolution to take place.
*Note: Keep in mind that when buying moves for your Pokemon to use the highest evolution that you plan on using as your guide for buying. For example, if you are going to use Alakazam, use Alakazam's movelist in the Ultra Dex to pick your EMs, and not Kadabra or Abra's. Likewise, don't use a higher evolution's list to pick moves for a lower evolution, like using Porygon-Z's list for Porygon2.

2. The deadline for getting all of your purchases made for the tournament is 7 days from when the tournament was posted. 10:49 AM Friday January 27th, 2012.

3. No change will be made to the purchasing system. Excluding the final two rounds, in which you will PM your purchases to me, all purchases are made in the Ultra Mall thread.

4. Hidden Power types are picked by the battler, not rolled. Keep in mind that the Hidden Power type is not able to be changed over the course of the tournament.

5. Matchups will be made after the purchasing deadline.

Also, don't forget to keep up with your team, tournament money, and items in your Budget Tourney Stats. I'll have a thread up shortly.
