James walked into the arena, his head held high. He spun a Pokéball on one finger. "Well, let's get started... Go, Eevee!" He released the Normal type.

Xeniaph sauntered in, followed by a small, white, sprite-like Pokemon. It tripped a little as it walked, and he snickered. The Ralts glared at him, and he smiled at her. She ran ahead, into the center of the arena, to face the fluffy Eevee that was her opponent.

Xeniaph began observing his opponent coolly, trying to see a strategy in his words and actions. "Hypnosis, Jo."
