Dianne took her place on the playing field, smiling slightly as she watched for her opponent to arrive. At her heels, her Deino chittered softly. He was a socially-awkward type; he had been avoiding battles-- or contests, or anything-- for quite a while now. Dianne had almost had to force him to participate in this one. She felt almost guilty, but not quite.
"Really, Fredward," she chided, "it's not so bad. All you have to do is follow orders."
He barked, seemingly unconvinced.
Dianne sighed. "Well, it's too late to back out now. We're already here."
Fredward grumbled, and headbutted Dianne's knees, but took his place on the field.
Dianne sends Fredward-- Deino, M, Hustle

Re: dandanni VS Natorei
It did not take very long for Daniel to arrive at his destination. His Charmander was riding on his back the entire time, having taken a liking to piggy back rides.
"Alright, we've made it Pyre! And our opponent for today is here already! This is already our second battle, but I've gotten a taste of your strength! Ready for your second bout?"
"Char!" Pyre cheered as it climbed off and took his place on the field. What it saw was a funny looking pokemon, one he had never seen before. It was not from any region he was from. Still, it looked kind of neat. For a while, it pondered exactly what kind of pokemon this creature is. Daniel, on the other hand, seemed to freeze the moment he laid eyes on the opposing pokemon.
"Dra... dra... DRAGON TYPE!!!" Daniel cried out, having completely forgotten his battle and diving in to hug the Deino, speaking at a speed that one would think impossible for one breath. "Oh my gosh it's a dragon type I can't believe I'm seeing this this is so amazingly awesome this has to be a Deino I'm sure of it even though this is my first time seeing it this is so amazing and awesome I just have to have it and-" A "gentle" flamethrower from Pyre reminded Daniel what he was here for.
Miraculously surviving with just a charred black face, Daniel simply went back to his spot, embarrassed about his actions.
"Sorry about that," he replied sheepishly, "I'm something of a fan of Dragon types. Anyway, shall we get started?"
Daniel sends out Pyre-- Charmander, M, Blaze

Re: dandanni VS Natorei
[[ So, I just realized that we're using DPPt rules and I'm using a BW Pokemon. I'm not really sure how that's supposed to work (I was inactive for a while, just got back), so I'm not exactly sure what's going on. ]]
Fredward had perked up when he heard Daniel and Pyre's voices, but completely failed to anticipate being jumped on. He stiffened at Daniel's hug, his fur bristling. When Pyre burnt the enthusiastic trainer, Fredward barked and flinched. There was a reason he didn't go out much. He once again felt a stab of jealousy for Dianne's sight-- he would have been able to avoid, or at least anticipate, both hug and flame-- and was reminded of why he relied on her.
It didn't seem like Dianne was so perturbed by her opponent's actions, though. She had almost doubled over laughing at Daniel's little rant.
"Yeah," she managed through her enduring giggles, "he's a dragon." She took a deep breath to steady her voice. "And you can't have him. Play with him as much as you want, though. He needs friends."
"But yes, we should start. Fredward!" Dianne pointed dramatically across the field, a favorite gesture of hers.
The Deino barked hesitant recognition, and started forward. He concentrated, listening for his opponents. At the first sound of movement, he charged, hissing aggressively. Too late to back out of the battle now, after all.
Fredward uses Outrage.

Re: dandanni VS Natorei
This is bad... Daniel thought as the battle commenced, Dragon type automatically means Fire type disadvantage. I can't really hope for much here... "Then let's just have fun with it! Pyre! Inferno!"
"Char?!" said a surprised Pyre. Inferno was an unreliable move with only half a chance of hitting. Was it really smart to start off with a possible miss?
"Moo Moo Milk," Daniel said with a knowing grin. Pyre suddenly abandoned all caution it may have had.
Pyre uses Inferno.

Re: dandanni VS Natorei
To answer your question it makes no difference that you're using a BW mon in DPP, all DPP means is you go based on the battle rules of that, namely sending out in the open like this.
Charmander uses Inferno
Ebail 4:19 pm
//roll-dice1-sides100
OnlineHost 4:19 pm
Y2beric rolled 1 100-sided die: 52

Deino uses Outrage

Re: dandanni VS Natorei
Pyre took a really hard hit that time, but it oddly did not care. He was beginning to see why his trainer preference for action over standing still. He still wished a better attack was used, and was making a mental note to remember to burn him again for that one.
"Dang, hard hit!" Daniel thought, having seen the damage done. Whatever it was about this Deino, it hit hard... very VERY hard. True, the intent was just to simply have fun for now, but he knew full well that Pyre was not going to forgive such reckless behavior. Maybe it's about time to start battling smart? Would it matter this time, though? Unless he thought enough teach it double team... Still, he had the speed advantage...
"Use Flame thrower this time, Pyre!"
Pyre looked annoyed at how late it was for this, but he complied. He was going to give as much heat as he could into that one flame thrower, hoping to at least get a really good hit in before going down.
Pyre uses Flamethrower.

[[ Sorry about the delay, I was out of town. >.> ]]
On the field, Fredward kept on the offensive. Though he had been reluctant to battle, he had done as Dianne ordered, and she couldn't complain about that.
She still wasn't sure what she thought of his technique, though; while the little dragon's outrage was a formidable thing, seeing the usually calm Pokemon completely lose himself in the fight was more than a bit disturbing to Dianne. She would order him to finish the fight quickly, but she was afraid that he wouldn't even recognize her voice through his rage.
Hissing loudly, Fredward was clawing at the air and running in no particular direction. The little dragon's blindness was rather obvious, considering that its aggression was mostly directed toward empty air. However, this did nothing to improve his mood, so the rampage did not stop.
Fredward keeps using Outrage.

Re: dandanni VS Natorei
Pyre was beaten, down for the count. That second strike was pretty good, and admittedly, it felt outclassed. This was the second defeat handed to it, and it was not the very least happy about it. Both times, its trainer was acting really reckless, and it cost them each time.
"Dang... twice in a row..." Daniel had to admit. He was admittedly having fun with it at first, but when he thinks about it, loosing so much and so often kind of took away from it.
"Well, what can I do?" he said, trying to be mature about it, "That's two looses in a row. Just means I have to do better next time!" Though he was trying to hide it, it was plan to see that he was not happy with the loss.

Re: dandanni VS Natorei
[[ Thanks for reffing, Ebail. =D ]]
Dianne was watching her opponent. He was a good kid, by the looks of it, but inexperienced; he was taking the loss hard. "Come on, man," she said. "Everyone loses. Just learn to deal with it."
Shaking his head a bit, Fredward took a deep breath. The fight was over. He could think again; the rage of battle no longer clouded his judgment. Sadly, he couldn't say Dianne's judgment was well-founded-- there she was again, saying something borderline offensive. He believed she meant well-- hoped, anyway-- but she wasn't the best at encouragement.
Turning toward where the boy's voice had come from, Fredward started slowly and carefully forward. He understood battle anxiety; he still dealt with it. Dianne made fun of him constantly for it, but it was still there. He hated losing, and he hated doing unnecessary violence. He knew the fighting was necessary, but that knowledge still wasn't much of a motivation.
In a moment, he bumped into someone's leg; the other trainer's, he assumed. The impact was clumsy, there wasn't much he could do about that, but he hoped it hadn't been hard.
Giving his best imitation of a purr, Fredward leaned his forehead on the trainer's knee. Best to let the kid know that someone, at least, sympathized.
On the other side of the field, Dianne's eyebrows rose.

Re: dandanni VS Natorei
He was kind of surprised by the Deino's action. He's heard of good sportsmanship, but encouragement? It was difficult to get over. He knelt down next to it, more cautiously this time, and slowly so as to not surprise the poor started to pet it.
"He's a good Pokemon," Daniel stated, "I'd say you're really lucky to have him." Though he could not understand how or why, he at least understood that this dragon seemed to know his feelings, even if only a little. That was enough to brighten his day a bit. When finished with the Deino, he got back up and walked towards his Charmander, lifting it up and holding it dear.
"Sorry buddy," he said, fighting back tears, "I'm not gonna be reckless in battle anymore. I'm gonna actually try to battle smart from now on, ok buddy?"
"Charmander, char..." said the Charmander, thinking something along the lines of "You dummy..."
"Thank you for the battle!" he announced to his trainer, "I was still able to have fun with it! Sorry for being something of a sore loser there. I better go care for Pyre. If I don't, he'll flamethrower me for neglecting him."
