As far as mentioning goes, you can type out the coding yourself if you know it, or when you reply you can click the "Go Advanced" button on the bottom right, then you can type out someone's name exactly, highlight it, and then on the toolbar at the top of your post, the bottom right button should say "wrap mention tags around selected text"(it looks like a blue eye). You can click that and it will automatically add mention coding to the name of the person you've highlighted.
