@WinterVines; Dice trolled and rolled 50, but at least you got an apricorn. ^_^;;
The deafening sound of thunder barraged through the Plant yet another time, echoing around us, seemingly louder than the last as it sent a tremble coursing through our limbs. This seemed to have jolted the wild creature out of its reverie; it turned its attention away from the yellow currents sparking around him, its gaze landing on us.
Curiosity shimmered in its eyes as it picked itself up from its sitting position. It regarded us with a wary gaze as well, but I could tell it wouldn't flee just like that. It seemed to be the brave and perhaps reckless type, always on the look-out for adventure and discovery.
It hobbled over to us, quick on its feet. Ivy pulled out yet another pink doll from one of her multiple pockets - I lost count of how many she had used up in just this trip alone - handing it over in the hopes that the Electric-type would lose interest in us. The plush toy seemed to work its charm on the Elekid; it gazed at the Pokedoll with wide eyes, seemingly entranced by it the same way any little kid would be.
We side-stepped the creature, quickly slipping away before it could return to staring curiously and questioningly at us. Passing the spot where the Electric Pokemon had been playing around in just a few moments ago, I noticed an orb of yellow coloration resting on the very same zone. I picked it up quickly then showed the apricorn to Ivy as we hurried along, away from the Elekid.
For a couple of minutes, we journeyed on without incident - not a single Pokemon in sight. I even checked a rather large hole in the wall - vast enough for all of us to fit through and cross to the other side - finding nothing but a mess of more twisting and curving hallways further inside the enormous Power Plant. They didn't seem to be in any better condition than the one we were traversing on at the current moment - they were just as old and rundown, just as dusty and without sufficient light source. I figured we were still pretty far from the center, where the actual electricity-generating machinery was situated.
"Well, there doesn't seem to be anything there," I muttered under my breath, rather disappointed. Encountering Pokemon of every shape and size was always fun, despite the stubbornness or hazardous qualities or behaviors of certain species. There was always something you could learn form these wild entities, one way or another, and I always looked forward to bumping into more and more specimens in spite of the risks and possible consequences that accompanied it.
I turned to Ivy. "Would you rather we continue down this hall, or hop on through this gaping hole?" It seemed that there were barely any Pokemon in sight either way, though.
