    Default Individual RP: Turtwig A

I, Ranger Elisa Fleming, was bored. Terribly bored. I hadn't gone out on any Park runs recently, and now, I wanted to claim one. My laptop was booted up, I quickly searched through the National Park data and whatnot.

I decided to look for those who were unclaimed and were visiting the park within the next two days - even better if it was on this very day. I would, practically, take any run I saw - except for the fact that they were all going to the mountains.

I sighed heavily, everyone had wanted to go to the mountains these days - specifically Deckbi. I did not know what was so good or interesting about them - sure, they had extensive and interesting cave networks, if you like that sort of thing. Personally, I didn't as it would be extremely easy for you to get lost inside the mountain.

"Mount Oktori, Mount Deckbi, Deckbi... Ooh, the Woods!" I read off the list of trainers. Unfortunately, somebody claimed the Woods run before me. I was outrageous...! "Gah, moving on... Oktori, Deckbi, Abandoned Power Plant. I haven't been there before - that is mine!" I quickly clicked on the Power Plant run, but what the next screen showed me caused me to rage in fury once more.

Sorry, ranger, you are too late. Some one has already claimed this run - please try again next time! it read. My eyes moved to the next line with the details of the run and who had claimed it. It was a certain James Carter, or Chainy - as he was better known as.

I breathed in deeply, now was not the time to go into a raging fit. However, Chainy had just gotten back from a run some time ago - and here he was, taking another trainer through the Park.

I stood up, stomping out of my office and into his. Chainy, though, looked very sick. I gasped, taken aback. Why would he claim a run when he wasn't feeling too well? In fact, his arms were clutched around his stomach and his cheeks were flushed crimson red, his eyes were closed as well.

I ran over to his desk, shaking him. Then, he was breathing - and was awake. I smelled the scent of liquor, causing me to gasp angrily. "Chainy! What do you think you're doing, drinking on the job!? Do you know how dangerous that could have been for the trainer - Shawn, was it?"

"Huh..? Elisa, leave me alone! I... Don't.. Feel so good--" he replied before vomiting. I jumped back as his barf poured into the wastebasket, then fell into unconsciousness.

"IVY!!" I shouted, calling one of my fellow rangers - and perhaps the only sensible one here. The other female came rushing in, and with one quick look around the room, she need not ask what had happened.

"Should we report him to the boss or what?" she asked, scanning the Elite Ranger over and over.

"Hmm, get him to the clinic instead?" I suggested. This was not the first time James had done this, but I suspected he would learn his lesson now. If he didn't, we would definitely tell our boss.

"Okay, I'll take care of that," Ivy offered, and I smiled gratefully. I tugged Chainy off his seat, giving him a rather hard punch on the shoulder. I watched with a slightly contorted smile as the ranger pulled him on the ear. She dragged him along, his ear getting red.

I burst out into fits of hysterical laughter, thinking of how much trouble James would be in when he awoke. Ivy would, no doubt, punish him. Too bad I would not be there to see the scene.

I walked back triumphantly into my office, going over the list of unclaimed trainers once more. There was only a choice between Mt. Oktori and Mt. Deckbi now. I chose the Deckbi run, as my most recent journey had been through Mt. Oktori - and I didn't want to go back there just yet.

I brought out my RDA - Ranger's Digital Assistant - scanning it onto another device next to my computer. I had, kind of, invented these gadgets for my own use - though with some help from the other rangers, specifically Chainy. The machine beeped, and I looked at my yellow gadget. I pressed a green button on the touch-screen that was labeled "Accept File", and all the trainer's, as well as the run's, information was sent to my device. In a moment, the RDA had downloaded the file, which I could access conveniently later on.

I grabbed three Pokeballs - I had decided to bring alone Kindle, my Typhlosion, Superman, my Machamp, and my Dragonite. From my chair, I took my brown-colored shoulder bag which contained medicines and revival herbs, as well as Pokedolls and everything else the trainer might need on this adventure.

I walked out of the Docks Ranger Outpost, and into the teleportation device. Within moments, I felt that weird sensation I got every time I teleported or warped to a different place. I closed my eyes as a shudder ran through my spine... I felt the organisms and cells and atoms in my body being transported to Mount Deckbi's outpost...

When I arrived, I quickly looked around for the trainer. I checked his file, stifling a confused face when I read his name. "A Turtwig?" I mumbled, asking myself. I wasn't sure if I wanted to believe that was his real name - I wasn't even sure how I was supposed to pronounce the name. Would it be long A or short A?

I looked up from my RDA, pushing a red button at the side to make it transform. It morphed into something like a huge - though not too big - wristwatch, and I strapped it on. I took in a sharp intake of breath, this run might just be interesting after all.

Adventures are what I'm seeking. What are adventures though? Adventures are a time in our life where we feel a sense of excitement. It's purely based on perspective of course, and the willingness to give chances.

Could this next National Park run that I'm partaking in be an adventure? I don't know, we'll have to see. I'm willing to take that chance, and that willingness itself could be an adventure.

This time, I've decided to bring along a newer generation of my team. The ones who have been shown to do better recently. Scolipede is the newest of the bunch, acquired just a couple weeks ago. It's so far been proving to do well in battle with its calmness. It'll probably be the most used from me during this whole expedition, I'm definitely sure.

Then there is Flygon. I've had Flygon for a long time, and it has barely ever disappointed me. I don't care what others say about it, it's my Flygon. It could help a bit with both physical and distant combat, and the ground can't compete with this floating dragon. I wonder if anything here even can defeat my trusty Flygon.

Then there is Rampardos. It's been showing promise, and is the only one out of my whole team able to push boulders with ease. The fact that it's a surfing dinosaur made of rock is pretty awesome as well, so there's no way I wouldn't have brought it with me. Not to mention it's also the bravest of the pack, and most willing to fight.

And now, after describing what I've got for this journey, time to get to the Park. Mt. Deckbi was my destination, and I was not going to waste time getting there. Sprinting as fast as I could, I finally made it into the area. Now time to begin a potential adventure.

"Hey!" I shouted, waving my right arm up high in the air as I saw a figure sprinting towards Mount Deckbi's Front Gate. When the trainer was close enough, I introduced myself. "My name is Elisa, and I'll be your ranger today. Mt. Deckbi is an interesting place to explore, though a bit "overused", if you know what I mean."

I pointed over to the towering mountain - or rather, a dominant volcano, to be precise. The landform was a good distance away from the Ranger Outpost, but nothing a little walking couldn't do.

I started to walk quickly, motioning for A to follow me down the dirt path. I was almost certainly sure he was itching to get on with this run - most trainers were, after all. The road to the mountain was, indeed, a dusty one. And the atmosphere was a warm one, with a dull fog that did not look like it would lift any time soon.

I started to build a mental picture of Deckbi's extensive cave networks, because - without any doubt - we would eventually head into the volcano. The caverns were so strange and confusing, as well as being connected to each other, one way or another, that getting lost was a common thing here. However, and fortunately so, I had been to the dungeons of this mountain before, and I had gotten a good, for lack of better term, "view" of this network. My RDA also had a better map of the place. So hopefully, this time, we would not get lost.

My thoughts were interrupted when a Pokemon growl reached my ears. I turned around, looking for the source of the noise. I was expecting something bigger, but instead found a primarily tan-colored, quadruped crocodilian-like creature that was about to bite into my leg. I jumped back from the long snout, which had a thick black stripe on the bridge. Its eyes were round and sepia-colored, with a circular pattern of black around them stretching between each eye, with the ridges surrounding the eyes being large and protruding. Two thick black stripes were present down its back, stretching to its pink-colored underside and encompassing its tan-colored limbs, which sported three claws each that are also black; additionally, the Desert Croc Pokemon's tapered tail is tipped with the same color.

"Would you like to battle this Sandile?" I asked as I turned to A.

The first leg of the trip is always the most exhilarating to me, because it's the one where you get introduced the everything. This National Park adventure is exactly like that to me, it's playing exactly how I would think it would, and that's boring. Just boring.

The first genuinely interesting thing came with the first encounter. It was a creature called a Sandile. I had never seen one before, but it seemed awesome, for lack of a better word. It was like a bandit crocodile or alligator, and that seemed pretty interesting. It was the only thing so far that disappeared from the usual formula of a journey, making the unformulated adventure.

"Would you like to battle this Sandile?" Elisa, my ranger for this journey asked. "Why not?" I responded, "it would actually be pretty cool to catch this little critter."

"Alright Scolipede," I said while I picked up one of the many red and white orbs from my belt, "we're battling this Sandile. Let's start with a Toxic to weaken it a little bit to start off."

"Why not?" A replied almost immediately. "It would actually be pretty cool to catch this little critter." He unclipped one of the three Pokeballs from his belt, tossing it to the ground. A Scolipede was released, one of the new creatures that quite a lot wanted to own and train.

It was quite common nowadays for trainers to start battles off with moves that inflicted status ailments. And this one was no exception. Most people would usually choose to, if they had a choice, burn, paralyze, confuse, or poison the target. Burn and intoxicate it so it would slowly be drained of health; paralyze it - maybe even freezing or causing it to sleep - so it had little to no chance of moving; and confusing it so the creature would, most likely, smack itself dizzily.

I stepped aside quickly, giving room for the two to fight. The Bug-Poison-type opened his mouth, releasing a bubbly stream, which was in the color of purple. The liquid spewed out quickly, covering the wild entity's front part almost completely. It was full of toxin, soaking into the opponent as it pushed through the thick outer covering.

Sandile began to charge, trying to forget about the pain it was enduring coming from the poison. Its jaws were partially ajar, its sharp teeth seen almost too clearly. It flexed its mouth, preparing to clamp down hard on A's Pokemon.

    OOC: Male.
BIC: Is it just me or is the sun shining? Things are going so great, that I can't believe that it isn't. First off, a move that I did actually worked, with nothing consequential. I hope this luck keeps up, it would be pretty awesome. Then again, nothing lasts forever. Except time, but time isn't actually a thing, making it an exclusion from this categorization. And peeps or cockroaches maybe, but that's off the topic.

Now on to business. Sandile is in the process of attacking, so we have to dodge and initiate something else. Here's where it gets tough, I have a forked path. If I decides to have Scolipede just dodge then set up, Scolipede ruin a huge opportunity of sending the attack back. If Scolipede dodges then attack, it could be quickly countered.

Let's not worry about countering actually, let's just go all-out. Life's a risk, and a risk I have to take. If I don't risk it, then I'm just a shell full of life, not a being filled with life. Still though, what is life, and why am I diverting my attention so quickly? I'm like a monkey, swinging through the vines of questions. Or a child lost in the corn maze of questions. Same thing really.

Anyway, at that point, I had to think of a move to use, and I have to make this done in an efficient way. Scolipede is a living being after all, so it can get tired. Maybe counter the attack with an attack of its own? Yeah, that would work well. I just have to counter the danger of Sandile digging into the ground, and I think I know how to do exactly that.

"Okay Scolipede, listen closely. We need to execute this plan very quickly. I apologize if you are tired, but we have to do this to avoid an incoming attack. I want you to first use Poison Tail to counter Sandile's Bite, then when it's weakened by the Poison Tail, quickly switch to Steamroller to avoid the chance of it digging. Think you can do that? I hope you can."

Scolipede made a gesture, but I was unsure if it was a nod, or a sense of worry. For its sake, I hoped it was the former.

I noticed the Sandile was a bit on the slow side, which was good for A as he took the time to think of a counter-attack - if he did plan to do that instead of just dodging.

In my opinion, dodging was far worse than countering the opponent's move with your own attack, as it would let your mind think of a move - or two - that could possibly work in certain scenarios. Besides, you couldn't just keep on evading moves now, could you?

Bite wasn't a move that would be that hard to counteract, considering it was executed in an uncomplicated manner - as shown by this Desert Croc Pokemon right here. Charge at the enemy, then sink your teeth into them. Easy and simple enough, right?

My thoughts were interrupted as the trainer shouted out his next command.

Poison Tail wasn't such a bad move. It starts out with the user, in this case - Scolipede, gathering Poison-typed energy and transferring it to his tail. Now, the tail - actually, tails, depending on how you look at it - was glowing a bright purple color. The aura was filled with toxin, though not as much as the earlier blast of toxic.

A's Pokemon waited for the right moment to strike, which was when the Sandile would close in on him. The Ground-Dark-type pushed forward, his jaws coming to close down on Scolipede's waiting, swishing tail. He seemed to have brought his tail upwards to meet the mouth of the wild entity.

I did not know whether it was part of his plan or not, but the Sandile had bitten the Scolipede's poison-inflicted tail. He winced as the sharp jaws dealt some bit of damage, but the Poison Tail attack dealt more to the Sandile. Toxin shot into his body, mixing with the earlier release.

"San-dile!..." he yelped in pain, releasing the tail almost immediately. The Megapede Pokemon took this opportunity to slam his still glowing tail down on Sandile, before curling himself into a ball.

He had remembered and understood A's orders well enough. Much like a land vehicle's tire, he rolled quickly on the ground, leaving a trail of dust to mix with the already dirty atmosphere. The ground seemed to have been attacked, too, as there was soil eroded all around. Scolipede smashed into the Sandile, tumbling over him harshly.

When he had finished attacking like a steamroller, he trotted back to his trainer happily but calmly. He turned around, finding the opponent slowly staggering to stand up.

The creature paced about uneasily before jumping up and down on the ground. This created multiple tremors, something like a low magnitude earthquake. He continued with this though, and with one final blow, he managed to create a massive attack - sending a reasonable amount of damage Scolipede's way.

Scolipede sighed after the impact, turning to his trainer to await further commands. He was keeping his cool and staying calm, one little Earthquake wouldn't, and shouldn't, end him.

OOC: This was longer than it needed to be.
BIC: I can't believe this is still working out; I thought my confidence would have made me do horrible then. Now, let's try to do something else, which I think should be making a plan to execute now. This Sandile is seriously strong enough to learn Earthquake, a move that was definitely not weak in its own right. It was a move of the Ground-type, a type I adored, and looking now, this Sandile looked to be of said type. That just made catching it seem all the more pleasant. So why not keep trying?

Sandile seemed to be of the burglar, yet crocodile type. Those two things seemed to mix really well, and I don't know how I didn't notice those things by now, or even put two and two together. That information is vital, since it should tell me what skills Sandile can utilize.

I guess that's usual me though, late to catch on. Maybe I should find out how to improve my brain, since while it is good with book smarts, it starts to draw many blanks when going into areas that would most certainly require at least an ounce of common sense.

Still though, I should try to focus. Sandile, Sandile... Come to think of it, it looks like a criminal sort of. Might want to make this a sort of get up close, then back away thing, since in my mind, crooks are known for being heavily strong physically, making any attack that hits hugely detrimental to the overall goal.

What is the overall goal? Well, I'm hoping for it to be catching Sandile, and the more I think about it, the more determined I become to finish this task.

Maybe I should backtrack, and see exactly what I need to do. Of course, like every trainer learns from their beginning, I would have to weaken Sandile, and that's it. Even then, the weakening could be planned out, or just an alt out improvisation of what is happening.

I sent out Scolipede because I felt it could help with said improvisation with its wide range of attacks. Its willingness to obey also helped, but I had to be careful with it so it doesn't go to the extreme in obeying, and that would take a lot of work.

Hm, intoxicating it, then going to the offensive to counter its offense worked well, maybe I should continue it, but with Earthquake, I can't risk it. Maybe I should just do traditional combat, going all out to attack, not waiting for it? Then again, that's risky, and of course another then again, Scolipede's willingness could get in the way.

This is a lot more complicated than it needs to be, why am I making it this way? Well, I was always told that a good battler is always 2 steps ahead of their opponent, though by the looks of it, I'm 3, which might be way too far ahead.

Back on topic then, another strategy is to let the poison stall out, but that's just not me. It seems horrible to have the Sandile damaged slowly and miserably, and speeding up that process would be better. I'm not the guy to make things more horrid then they need to be.

Okay, I now know the method, so now I'll focus on location of attack. Sandile is four-legged, and usually quadrupedal creatures are weak in their bellies. Maybe, just maybe, if I were to flip Sandile, I could attack its belly, then throw a Park Ball quickly at its stomach as well to capture it. Then again, it was only a maybe. Of course, everything these days was a maybe, and it was a risk I had to take.

Now, how would I be able to flip Sandile? Scolipede should have a body part that can do that, which is its horns of course! The best part is, Scolipede has a particular move that is perfect for flipping Sandile, and weakening it as well. Let's see how this first part goes first though, then focus on the attack right after. It would save time after all.

At this point, certain of what I wanted to do, I said with much enthusiasm, "Scolipede, I'd like you to use Megahorn to flip over Sandile! Do you think you can be able to do that command?"

Still though, as certain as I was of my plan, a doubt remained in my mind as I commanded that move.

OOC: Sorry for the delay, I hadn't realized you had already posted. Didn't get an email notification .-.

    BP#3

Both Pokemon stood there, not really doing anything. A took this opportunity to think things through, to ponder about what move he should order next.

He was just like Eric, I figured, taking his time to think things through. Using his time to develop a tactic that usually worked. Eric was another trainer I had taken through a zone in the National Park - the mountains, specifically. He journeyed through Mount Oktori, though, not Mount Deckbi.

I smiled to myself, remembering that day. We had encountered many different creatures, primarily Fighting-types - since that was what Oktori was known for housing. Ice types, too. However, the expedition was cut short when Eric had caught three entities. He had decided he had caught the Pokemon he had come for, thus leaving.

"Scolipede, I'd like you to use Megahorn to flip over Sandile! Do you think you can be able to do that command?" The teen's voice snapped me out of my little "trance", if that was what you would call it.

I watched his partner's horns begin to glow a green aura. Bug energy surged through them, powering them for the mega attack. The Desert Croc Pokemon's eyes grew wide in shock, if that was even possible. Scolipede charged at him with all his might, lowering his head so he could aim at the opponent's underside.

He ducked even lower, causing his body to seem so very flexible at this point in time. With one swift motion of his head, the horns slammed into Sandile's belly. The wild creature was, indeed, flipped over - flying a bit, even - going according to A's plan.

I wasn't exactly sure what his plan was. Why had he wanted Scolipede to flip the enemy over, and why from underneath? Was more damage inflicted if it was done this way? Or was he just trying out any seemingly reasonable tactic that could come to his mind? Apparently, his little scheme seemed to be working.

The Ground-Dark-type stood up, growling angrily. There was evident fury in his eyes as a dark shadow of sorts surrounded him. He opened his nuzzle, showing his sharp teeth once more.

Suddenly, A's Pokemon had other ideas. He confronted the foe, pushing him down with his horn. He shot a glance his trainer's way, as if asking for permission to attack. Sandile, on the other hand, saw this as the perfect opening for his attack. The shadowy, somewhat ghostly aura still enveloped him... He bit down long and hard on the Megapede Pokemon's still glowing horns, receiving a wince.

He could have continued with the Crunch attack, but his status ailment did not allow him to. He let out a gasp accompanied by a yelp, releasing his grip on the opponent. He cringed, feeling the toxic poisoning surge through his bloodstream. He felt as though he could fight no longer - each time it just got worse and worse...

He looked at the Bug-Poison-type with much rage in his eyes, blaming him for all the pain he was suffering; accusing him for inflicting him with this "disease", Toxic. He'd get his revenge all right, he would.

His tail was shining a bright brown shade as he charged up for his next assault. He sped towards the Scolipede, though not at a very fast speed as he was still recovering from the poison.

I did not understand how this could be called "payback", but I figured this was good enough for the wild entity. If he really wanted to hurt A's Pokemon for what trouble he had caused, which I hoped he did not result to that, he would have prepared a much more powerful attack, would he not? I shrugged, just being grateful that it wouldn't be anything too devastating.

Okay, now time for the quick hit & run technique. Well, the hit and catch seems a bit more appropriate actually. I'm going to have Scolipede use a move very quickly, then send a Ball flying, hoping the Sandile will be captured all the time through.

I had to think of a move to use though. I couldn't believe my lack of thought, this was supposed to be as simple as learning 1 2 3. It had to be something that didn't damage too much, but did enough. Sandile was obviously going to get a large hit from the Toxic, so maybe a weak move would be better.

Then it hit me. A simple move was what I was looking for, right? Then Poison Sting is perfect, it is really weak and still does a little damage. Now, the plan was complete. Poison Sting then throw a Park Ball. Easy, right? Had to be, there's nothing else it could be. Nothing. Oh how I thought I was going to be wrong though, it was always like that.

Shakily, I said "Scolipede, okay, send a Poison Sting that's sort of strong but not strong enough to knock out Sandile, and after that lands I'll throw this Super Ball at it. Is that okay?"

Never would I fully doubt the judgement of my 'mons, never ever ever. They're always to be trusted, no matter how much doubting I always am in life, and because of that, I was confident that this would work out well. Yep, that's what I am, confident.

"Scolipede, okay, send a Poison Sting that's sort of strong, but not strong enough to knock out Sandile, and after that lands, I'll throw this Super Ball at it. Is that okay?" A said in a shaky voice. I guess he was concerned about the health of the wild creature, considering how much damage the toxin would do to him. Plus the Poison Sting's damage, it just might knock him out.

His Pokemon gave a growl of affirmation, quickly powering up once more. Poison energy flowed within him before he released pointed "daggers" in the color of purple. They were glowing brightly, and had that same aura from the earlier Toxic around them.

These poisonous darts were aimed directly at the Desert Croc's incoming Mud-Slap attack. They managed to weaken the brown glow as they hit his tail, causing him to yelp as it damaged him ever-so-slightly. Nevertheless, the entity made his way to the Bug-Poison-type, still wanting to attack - to get his revenge. He was charging right against the stinging barrage of streaks.

The Megapede Pokemon, on the other hand, was much too focused on delivering the attack, letting himself get hit by the very much weakened tail of the opponent.

As before, the poison took over his body just as he finished slapping Scolipede. The toxic flooded in his bloodstream, dealing more internal damage compared to last time. It was as if it was spreading. He was clearly on the verge of fainting...

Just then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the trainer retrieve a Superball. He quickly tossed it at the intoxicated target, a look of confidence now plastered on his face.

The orb soared through the air, just barely missing the Bug-Poison-type's neck. It descended, tapping the Dark-Ground-type's head. With a red beam of zig-zagging light, the Sandile was sucked in...

It landed on the ground, just inches away from Scolipede. It began to shake... Once... Twice... And then a third time, with a satisfying "ping" sound to it.

I walked over to the sphere, picking it up quickly. I didn't want to waste any time, as we were already burning daylight.

"Congratulations! You've caught the Sandile," I told the teen, stating the obvious. "I'll have to keep it with me for now, though. But don't worry, it's safe here in my bag." I carefully put the Sandile's new housing into my bag.

I caught Sandile! This was so far the luckiest day of my life. I don't want to ruin my luck though, because it would suck a lot. Let's just not take that into account right now though, and focus on one thing. Just one thing indeed.

What was that? It was the next destination of course! A movie once told me a motto that should be the way of life: keep moving forward. Sure, let's think about the past every now and then, but let's not forget about the future. Staying in the present is actually nice as well. A life motto always gives us a reason to live though, so one is definitely necessary. Without one, we would have no personality or anything. I've adopted quite a few, but all contain the same principle, and that's all the matters.

Where to go though? Up the mountain, down the mountain, deep into the tunnels, through the sky? The possibilities are endless, and I like that. It makes me feel free, not bound to one simple path, though life is, after everything is done and stuff, exactly that. It isn't painted out yet, but we mark it with each hour, each minute, each second, each step we take. Life is slipping away fast, and that's all I can tell.

I knew I had to ask, for asking questions isn't a sign of stupidity, but curiosity, and curiosity led to great things. Even one of the greatest minds of the world, Albert Einstein, asked questions.

Anyway, at that point, I asked the ranger taking me through the park, "I caught Sandile, but where, if I may ask, are we going to next? Knowledge of the location would help me with strategies and such."

I had a hunch he'd ask this. Of course, I was ready with an answer.

"Well," I began slowly, making sure that he understood what I was about to say. "That's actually entirely up to you. We could stay out side of the mountain and roam around, or we could go inside. And if we do go inside, you can also decide whether you want to head upwards or downwards, or towards the magma itself - though I would not recommend that. But if you so wish to do so, then we shall go."

"It also depends on what kind of Pokemon you plan on catching," I continued, giving him a nod to take his time on choosing. "There would most probably be more Fire-types towards the center of the mountain. Though, I'm quite certain we'll encounter some along the way, too. As for Rock- or Ground- types, well - speaking from experience - they can be found anywhere and everywhere!"

"So is there anything specific you're looking for? And I assume you'd rather encounter Pokemon in their lowest forms, yes?" I prompted him with the question, though there was not really a need to do so. Or was there?

Suddenly, a loud almighty roar echoed throughout the zone. My head spun immediately, looking for the source of the sound. When I had checked the grounds, I surely knew where this seemingly mighty creature was. It was up in the sky.

My eyes gazed upwards. A thick and dusty mist was settling in, which was both good and bad. Good because it blocked out most of the sunshine, and my eyes did not have to squint; Bad due to the fact that I could just barely make out the figure circling the area.

Obviously, being at that high an altitude, it had wings that allowed it the freedom to fly. I could see a flame of fire burning continuously at one end of the creature - seemingly connected to a long, orange-colored tail of sorts. It also seemed to have extremely sharp claws glinting in what remained of the unblocked sunlight, as well as a long neck. Its belly and the undersides of its feet were cream-colored, while the rest of the Flame Pokemon's body was orangish in coloration.

Though, through the thick fog, I was not entirely sure of its features. But based from what I had just seen, and described, I would know it any time.

"How about that, A?" I asked the trainer, pointing at the beast. "Would you like a Charizard?"

"Would you like a Charizard?" The words echoed in my mind. Did I want a Charizard. Did I? Maybe I do, maybe I don't. I do have a Charizard back home, and it works quite well. I can't capture this one any way, since I haven nothing to catch it in. I guess then I didn't want Charizard, for I can not want an impossible thing.

Because of this, I spoke quickly and without much thought, "I do want this Charizard, but since I lack the balls to capture one, I believe that I simply cannot capture it at this moment."

Maybe I did want, maybe I did not. All I knew was that I couldn't catch it now, and that to me seemed to have been the only thing that mattered. No Charizard would obey a Trainer without being captured. It just didn't seem right, it just didn't seem possible. At all.

I still might capture it though, just later.

    OOC: Escape roll failed. :'(

    NBP#4

"Right then. Let's get going," I replied, walking toward the entrance of Mount Deckbi, which was - in fact - a cave that would surely lead to many other caverns deep within the volcano. "We don't want that creature spotting us now."

As the last word escaped my mouth, and my right leg swung forward, stepping on the ground to initiate my walk, another almighty growl echoed around us "forever and never more".

Speak of the devil... The roar was still ringing in my head - or ears, or both, whatever - when the Flame Pokemon decided to swoop down and give us a little visit.

I looked at it; its mouth was opened wide showing its sharp fangs, which glistened in what seemed to be the remains of sunlight; its wings flapping continuously to keep its balance and stay airborne; its head and eyes pointing straight at us with a rather impulsive attitude.

Somehow, I found myself stepping back - almost stumbling over a rock in the process. Out of the corner of my eye, my sky blue pupils caught sight of Scolipede - who was, apparently, still out of his orb-shaped housing - stepped forward bravely. He was ready to fight in case we would need to escape; ready to battle for his trainer.

"We could try to escape again, but Scolipede might have to endure a rough attack since that Charizard doesn't really look happy," I told the trainer. "You could try using a Pokedoll, though it doesn't guarantee a successful escape - but it's worth a shot. That is, if you want to do so. It's 500 Pokedollars a doll."
