"When was the last time you went to Mount Deckbi, Elisa?" James Carter (a.k.a. Chainy) , an Elite Ranger, asked me during one of our chats with all the other rangers, who weren't out on runs.
I shrugged. "It's been a while - that's for sure. I believe it was with Jake, Jake Fennet." I thought it over for a moment, and added, "Yeah... That was the last time I explored Deckbi." That expedition had been so long ago (not a year, of course). Back then, loads of trainers wanted to go to Mt. Deckbi. In fact, I took three trips going there one after the other... Or, maybe, I had a journey through Mount Oktori in between. Well, either way, I still went to those mountains a lot of times consecutively.
"Good then," he replied with a smug grin. I looked at him questioningly. "You wouldn't... I mean, shouldn't mind taking this trainer to Mt. Deckbi, in that case." His smile grew even wider as I felt frustration boil over me.
"But.. But.. But... I've just been to Mt. Oktori!"
"That doesn't count!" he said in that oh-so-smug voice of his.
"Fine..." I muttered, which elicited a smirk out of Chainy. He slid a pale brown folder across the table. I grabbed it quickly, and glanced at it for a moment. If I had to do this, then I best be doing it swiftly.
I grabbed my brown messenger bag from my office, stashing a couple of healing and escape items into it. Herbs, Pokedolls, everything that we might possible need on this trip. I opened a zipper on the front of the leather bag, which contained all my Pokemon's Pokeballs. Nia, my Staraptor, could fly me there if it wasn't for the misty, dusty fog. That left Archer.
<Where to this time?> my Gallade talked through me through our mindlink.
{Mount Deckbi,} I replied. {Teleport me there, could you?}
<Oh, the place you had always been complaining about, huh? I'll get you there, and I might even stay throughout the run.>
{Cool, thanks! It's gonna be hot, though.}
With that, I was wrapped in a bubble of blue Psychic energy. It required a strong amount of concentration from the Pokemon who was doing this, but I was sure the Blade Pokemon could execute this move perfectly. I trusted him, as well as all my other partners. To me, that was what was important - the bond between Pokemon and trainer; the trust and friendship connecting them together. The telekinetic power brought me to my destination, atom by atom, molecule by molecule, body cell by body cell.
Now, all that was left for me to do, was to wait for the trainer. Oh, I almost forgot. I connected to the Ranger Headquarters' server using my Ranger's Digital Assistant (RDA). The trainer file, along with all the other information necessary for this trip, was soon uploaded into my device.
"Archer, come on out!" I tossed out the red-and-white orb, and with a flash of white light, my Psychic-Fighting-type emerged before me.
{Welcome to Mount Deckbi!}
<So this is Deckbi... Well, it's not too bad. Just the blanket of fog, is all,> he said as he surveyed the zone. I could only nod in agreement. The mist was a bit thicker today that what I was used to.
