"Reon!"
Vaporeon, or Mimi, as I call her, irritably hissed when I told her where I was bringing her.
"I'm sorry, Mimi, but we have to. Yes, I know you would rather go to the Great Lakes than the Abandoned Power Plant." I sighed, looking at my rebellious Pokemon.
Mimi shook her head violently and pouted (well, not really, but you get the point). She turned her head, not willing to look at me.
"Well, anyway, I'm a new ranger and this is my first trainer. So if I screw this up... well... okay, just once. Promise." Mimi turned her head as I said that.
"Vapore?"
"Yes. Just once."
Mimi nodded and reluctantly stood still as I called her into the Pokeball hanging on the necklace I wore. It was a strange accessory, a custom one I called my own.
"Remember, if the encounters get too rough you have to break up the fight. Your good at doing that, right?"
Mimi nodded her now tiny head, though it didn't look forward to stopping electric Pokemon.
I stood at the teleportation point and waited as the light enveloped me. In one moment, when I opened my eyes, an old, crumbling building stood in front of me instead of a gate to the park.
"He should be here any minute now."

I took a deep breath as I walked into the glaring light ahead. I put my right foot into the Teleporter at first, cringed, before relaxing. I always hated all this new technology. I remembered a much simpler time when my only worries with technology was not being able to turn on the television or burning toast. I took one last deep breath before bringing my next foot in, and then my whole body followed. Steam poured out and he dropped his rucksack from his shoulders as the blue doors closed. there was an odd sucking sound as I was teleported. An unusual, yet kind of nice feeling accompanied this. The door swung open revealing a large, dirty grey building ahead.

"This here must be the Abandone Power Plant. I sure hope we are at the right place. Jolteon, come on out and join me," I said as I hurled a Pokeball from my hand before me.

There ws a flash of bright red light as a yellow dog-like Pokemon, covered in large spikes materialised. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth. "Jolt, jolt eon!" she chimed as we starte walking forward. Suddenly I saw a person and a Pokemon that looked a little like Jolteon. Jolteon rushed forward and began sniffing at the nervous-looking Vaporeon.

"Hi," I smiled, walking forwards. "My name is James and I can't wait to re-enter the National Park and encounter some cool Electric types," I said happily. "Jolteon, be careful you don't hurt the Vaporeon!" I scolded. "Oh, and as soon as we get inside I have some items I want to use immediately before my encounter. I hope tat's alright."

We walked towards the building as I rummaged in my backpack. I pulled out an odd air-freshened and began spraying it. A lovely flowery smell filled the air and I smiled. That was a Poison type repellent. I hated Poison types. I pulled out another item like a CD player. I propped it openslowly an inserted a disc. A metallic cry emitted from the CD player. The cry of Porygon, a Pokemon I was looking to encounter.

"Hello, my name is Timpeni." I greeted my first trainer, trying not to look nervous.
Mimi retreated and hissed at Jolteon, making sure there was a long distance between herself and the Jolteon.
"Mimi! Don't be rude! I'll make sure the Jolteon doesn't hurt you." I scolded Mimi. She growled and looked at the trainer's Jolteon with cautious eyes.
James took out a can out of his bag, one that reminded me of a Pokemon repellant. Couldn't remember which, though. But the fragrant smell, I definitely love.
Probably Poison-type repellant, I thought. Poison pokemon hate this smell.
My soothing trance was disturbed by a metallic cry. I snapped out of my daydreaming and noticed James was sounding a CD.
"Porygon!" A pink-blue Pokemon dashed out of the entrance of the Power Plant and nearly hit my on the back of my head. It turned and faced its opponent, ready for combat.

"Hello, my name is Timpeni," my Ranger said.

What a strange name, I thought. The word timpeni sounded familiar but I wasn't quite sure where I had hear it before... Oh yeah, that was it. Two years ago during our Christmas concert someone was playing a timpeni. It was quite a cool insturment. One I certainly wouldn't mind learning to play some day. I was brought out of my trance by the hissing sound of Vaporeon. She retreated from my little Jolteon. Jolteon chased after the cute Vaporeon, thinking they were playing a game.

"Jolteon, come on. We should focus on our run through this Park. An you should no better than to be pestering that Vaporeon. Water types don't like Electric types," I reminded her.

Suddenly, a pink an blue blur whizzed by, out of the entrance to the plant and crashed into my ranger, Timpeni's head. "Porygon, Gon Gon!" it squeaked, irratedat Timpeni.

"Hey, you big virus. Why don't you try battle us!" I taunted the Porygon. Hopefully my strategy would work and Porygon would focus on us an then I'd be able to weaken him and eventually capture him, if all went according to plan. Jolteon skipped up to the levitating Porygon and growled a little, trying to anger and intimidate the cool Pokemon. "Jolteon, let's be respectful and let the Porygon have the first attack. Make sure that you are ready to attack back though, we don't want him to get too much of an advantage."

Jolteon retreated a little as Porygon examined my Jolteon. We waited patiently as Porygon began to choose his move. "Porygon!" it roared as it began to attack.

OCC: The gender of the Porygon? And gah, I need a calc... sorry for short post.

"Pory!" The Porygon fumed. How dare the insolent human question it!
The Porygon concentrated, and three circles, green, blue, and red, circled it. The Porygon opened its eyes and in one movement, forced the three balls at Jolteon. The balls travelled at lightning speed and hit Jolteon head-on.
"Be careful! This Porygon seems reeeaally mad!" I yelled.

I watched as the Porygon fumed and three spheres, one red, one blue and one green began to form in front of the Porygon. The spheres merged together before expanding and spinning around each other. It was clear Porygon was performing it's Tri Attack, albeit rather recklessly. The spheres hurled at the speedy Jolteon. Although he wasn't fast enough to avoid it and they smacked him head on. Jolteon's head twisted back with the force, although he shook it off, obviously nott hurt too badly.

"It seems we weren't quite fast enough to dodge that attack Jolteon, let's try a Thunder Wave attack!" I commanded. Blue sparks began to leap off of the Jolteon's body as she charged forward. She jumped up high into the air and scrunched her body up, firing the weak jolts of electricity at the Porygon. If this attack worked successfully Jolteon would be paralysed, meaning slower to react an sometimes he would become envelloped by paralysis and unable to move. I watched as the sparks shot towards the enraged Porygon anxiously, perhaps that wouldn't be enough to just paralyse the opponent.

"Okay, Jolteon. Let's do another attack. How about you try your speedy Quick Attack." Jolteon nodded swiftly in affirmation and leaned backwards on his homers. She braced herself before charging forward at a blinding speed.

OCC: Oh yeah! XD

The Porygon tried to dodge the incoming sparks but it was futile. The Porygon felt a surge of electricity through its body, and it fell to the ground, sparks all over it. It stared at the Jolteon, and, if it could, it would be cursing obscene words at it.

"Okay, Jolteon. Let's do another attack. How about you try your speedy Quick Attack."

The Jolteon dashed at lightning speed towards Porygon. It crashed straight into it, causing Porygon to fly up and fall, causing both the impact damage and crash damage.

The Porygon thought nothing of giving up so early in the fight. It forced itself to fly, but ony hovered a centimeter or two above the ground. From its mouth, it gathered electricity from all over the battlefield and concentrated it into one strong, powerful beam. The beam shot at Jolteon.

Porygon stopped immediately after it noticed what it has done. But it was too late.

"This Porygon... it isn't very bright." I muttered.

The sparks struck Porygon quite hard, knocking it to the ground roughlx. Porygon twitched a little as the electricity coursed through it's arteficial body. It twitched a little and started shooting venemously glares at my Jolteon. Jolteon merely stuck her Tongue out in return. Porygon began to shake in a crazy manner, scaring me a little. Sparks began to form in fromt of it's mouth. The sparks formed a large beam which it fired at Jolteon. Jolteon could have avoided the attack but my little yellow dog was quite smart. Jolteon glowed a bright white colour and smiled as she fed on the sparks, healing herself. Porygon twitched once more, probably from anger more than anything. Jolteon spun around and rammed into the Porygon with her body at a very fastspeed, knocking Porygon backwards.

"This Porygon... it isn't very bright," Timpeni laughed. I supressed a chuckle quietly.

"Okay, Jolteon. Let's try and do a Sand Attack followed by a Growl!"

Jolteon charged forward through some dirt and caked in mud along the ground. It must have been raining quite a bit earlier, I thought lookingat some of the slushy mud still around the place. Jolteon shot forward, kicking mud up deliberately at the Porygon, distracting it and also obscuring the Porygon's vision. Porygon looked really annoyed as the mud hurtled towards him. If the mud stuck to him it would be much harder for the Porygon to see. Jolteon then turned around and starte growling cutely at the Porygon, trying to cut it's attack. Jolteon sounded sosweet when it growled, I couldn't help but thinking.

The Porygon was enraged by its blunder. It screamed "PORRRRYYY!" and tried to hit Jolteon with a Signal Beam. The light emitting from Jolteon was sucked away slowly, accumulating in front of Porygon's mouth.

"Okay, Jolteon. Let's try and do a Sand Attack followed by a Growl!"

The mud hit Porygon's face, blinding its vision. It howled in anger and released its Signal Beam all over the place. I dodged the Signal Beam swiftly, grabbing Mimi to get her out of the way. The Signal Beam was no where close to James and his Jolteon, lucky for them.

The Jolteon growled ever so sweetly at the enraged Porygon. However, in this state of madness, a sweet growl would not work.

Porygon shook off some mud, and saw Jolteon in front of it. It smiled and mustered up all its strength, ramming into Jolteon with a huge amount of force, suffering a tiny bit of impact damage itself.

Jolteon rolled on the ground and the Porygon landed in the mud, panting. The lat move had taken quite a bit out of it and it had no more left to even move.

"Ouch... that looked painful." I said.

Porygon looked humiliated as the mud struck it's face. It slowly slid down it's face before falling tothe ground. Jolteon was rushing back towards me when Porygon shot forward, extremely angry, it crave into my Jolteon and sent it flying. The attack drained Porygon of most of is energy so the Porygon slumped to the ground and began storing energy.

"Jolteon, are you okay?" I asked my fallen pup. "Jolt," she cried weakly. She looked quite hurt but at least she had the determined will to continue fighting. "Now, Jolteon, this is our best opportunity. Porygon will be stuck recharging this turnsole we can get in an attack or two. Let's try our famous strategy. Rain Dance first and then follow it up with a Thunder attack!" I roared.

Jolteon howled and closed her eyes, face lined with concentration. The passive white clouds above darkened and grew heavy a they filled with rain. The land grew much darker as the clouds overhead shadowed it. A bolt of streaked across the sky an Jolteon let out a roar as a huge jolt of thunder shot down onto the Porygon. It looked extremely powerful but I knew Porygon ould take it. They were quite bulky Pokemon.

The rain fell on the ground, making Vaporeon quite pleased. But I knew otherwise.
"Mimi, return!" I quickly returned her into her ball, not taking any chances for her to be hurt by the incoming attack.

When the thunder shot down from the skies Porygon had no time to be shocked. The white-hot electricity was like an electric sword, slashing into Porygon. It winced, but was not taken out by the huge blast, though it was close to it. Still, even though it wanted to attack, its body was all locked together tightly, not budging.

The thunder hit Porygon square on dealing quite a lot of damage. The poor Porygon could do nothing as it waited there, locked in place. I watched the poor Pokemon, feeling rather sad. The por Pokemon looked depressed and wet, cold and lowly too. I don't think it would be fair to hurt it unnecessarily. I smiled at the frightened Pixel Pokemon.

"Jolteon, cease the rain," I called. Jolteon merely had to blink and the darkened cloud above parted, revealing clear skies once more. Porygon looked a little better. I never wanted to take advantage of a Pokemon, especially one like this Porygon who looked so upset and dejected. Maybe I should stall thi battle off, letting Porygon gainsome self belief and self confidence. Yeah, that was probbly the best thing to do.

"Jolteon, use your Reflect attack," I commanded. Jolteon's head dropped slowly, nodding. Her eye narrowed as she began toform an invisible shield jst infront of s. This would weaken Porygon's attack, just so Porygon could start to believe in itself. After all, if I was going to capture this Pokemon I needed it to at least know that it is capable of being good. All Pokemon are.

The Porygon raised an eyebrow when the human commanded the Jolteon to do something, but nothing happened. Maybe... it's a trick?!

The Porygon started to fume again, and its rage gave it power to fight against its tiredness and Paralysis. Its blue, pointy tail suddenly had a smooth, silver surface, reflecting some of the light Jolteon was emitting right back into its eye, making Jolteon yelp a little and close its eyes, lowering the evasiveness and accuracy of Jolteon.

The Porygon started to smirk, and then swung the stiff, rock-hard tail at its opponent. Jolteon was taken aback and fell, but soon regained its footing.

The Porygon looked rather confused an then seemed to decide that I was just using a trick to lure the Porygon into a false sense of security. Talk about being just a little bit paranoid, I sighed. Porygon twisted it's tail sending light into my Jolteons eyes, momentarily blinding her. Then Porygon charged forward and struck Jolteon with it's tail.

"Ah crap," I moaned. "Clearly this strategy isn't working. Jolteon we need to heal you so let's use your Wish attack and follow it up with a Protect to stall the Porygon out."

Jolteon's eyes started to glow and then her body dd as she started wishing. Her mouth moved around a she chanted slowly. The Porygon watched carefully. Then Jolteon began to make another invisible barrier. This time it would be much stronger than before. Hopefully everything would work out.

The Porygon chanted gibberish, and soon, a ray of light shone on the field. It smirked and gathered up the light, performing a full-blast, energy beam, directly at the shield.

Porygon gasped when the beam simply disappeared into the shield, and Jolteon was left unscathed. Surely it should have at least got a little hurt?

The Porygon roared and rammed into the shield with a Zen Headbutt, but also bounced off the shield, and due to the ground providing a soft landing, it was not hurt.
