As the words slid out of my mouth, my Ranger's expression seemed to soften. It may have been my apologizing or it could have been something he saw on the file which he pulled out briefly. Either way, his opinion seemed to have changed for the better.
He grinned at my comment and sprinted in order to catch up to me. "Ah, I dunno, I'm not very good at formal Pokemon battling," I said. "I mean, Dual is pretty powerful, but it seems to me that you're a bit of a Gliscor fan, and that would be a bad match-up on my part."
His Gallade grunted, seemingly stating that he would like the challenge and I had to restrain myself from laughing.
I followed him as he led the way around the lake.
After a little while, we came upon a thicket along the coast. I was busy trying not to be sabered by the barbs, when Chainy tapped my shoulder.
"There's a Buizel up ahead, do you want to try and capture it?" he asked me. "Remember, you don't have to fight it, we can always just try to move past it if you're not interested."
I blanked out during the second part of the sentence as I was attempting to discern the water weasel Pokemon from the sand. I managed to succeed and was pleased to see that it was doing something cool. I quickly unpacked my camera and aimed it at the scene with its "Hyper Zoom" mode.
The Buizel slammed into the rocks in a torrent of water and I snapped the picture simultaneously.
