Default Individual RP: The Crimson Rose

After taking Rex, a fellow ranger, on a Park run through the Outer Heavens, I didn't think I could bare to take another adventure - not just yet, anyways. And, luckily, I got a break... A rather short one, but nonetheless an interval of sorts.

I was hurriedly finishing my paperwork so I could, at least, leave the Ranger Outpost immediately once the day was over. I didn't like to work overtime - though I've had to do it a load of times already in the past. We, rangers (or most of us - at least), would laze around sometimes once we had finished all the paperwork. We just killed the time talking to each other, joking around, and stuff like that. Others, though, would sleep through it all in their office.

It didn't take long for me to finish the filing of information about the expedition - and luckily so. In an hour or two, I was done. With another hour and a half to spare. Our wages came at shorter intervals now - biweekly or fortnightly instead of monthly. Thus, it was just practical if we were to finish our paperwork in the shortest amount of time possible. We like getting paid, you know! I left the place with a smile that late afternoon (early night, if you would want to call it that), along with all the other rangers who hadn't any need or want to stay longer.

    ***

Surprisingly, I arrived at the office early the next day. I was the first one (not counting our secretary and Head Rangers), which wasn't much of a surprise. The other rangers, other than Ivy and sometimes James (Chainy), usually came at a later time. What was different this time, though, was that I arrived a half hour earlier - at most.

I pushed the door open, stretching my arms and limbs as a breeze of cool air rocketed past my skin. In here, it wasn't much cooler compared to the early morning wing outside. Still, I preferred staying cool indoors - don't you think we, rangers, got enough time outside during runs already? I, for lack of better term, "exercised" my neck, turning it this way and that, as I walked to my room - ready for another day of work at the office.

I dumped my brown shoulder bag onto my desk. I plopped down onto my comfy, spinning chair with a slight smile. I could waste my time here while waiting for the others. I'd probably have another whole hour all to myself until the rest of the Ranger community would come. I sighed contentedly, tapping my fingers against the arms of my seat.

An advantage of being early: it was still all peaceful and quiet; there wouldn't be any Leo, Rex, Cameron, or Jonathan (Buzz) making a racket. No, sirree, it would - indeed - be serene and tranquil. A disadvantage? Only one that I could think of right now: there wasn't really much to do. I didn't really mind though, for later on, there would probably be too much to do instead.

    "Hey, Elisa?"

"Hmm?" I asked, twirling my chair around to face the receptionist.

"I know it's kind of early right now, but do you think you---" she began nervously. I immediately knew what was coming, so I interrupted her.

"Could take another run?" I finished for her with a small, yet audible, sigh. She bit her lip with a short nod.

"Crimson is his name, and he really would want to go through the National Park this early," she said apologetically.

I groaned - another excited trainer. Oh, well, at least the Park had more visitors and I could get more pay. "Fine. Where to?" I was silently praying it wasn't to one of the mountains - no, I did not want to go back to Deckbi or Oktori in a long time. I had had enough runs of those, thank you very much.

"Botanic Gardens." I smiled with a sigh of relief. The Gardens was a nice zone - a wide, open field filled with a variety of creatures roaming about. Perhaps I could actually enjoy myself on this journey. Grass-types were pretty interesting, though we'd have to watch out for Poison-types.

"The file's been sent to that gadget thingy of yours," she called as she walked away.

"Thanks!" I hollered, skimming through the information on my Ranger's Digital Assistant quickly. The device was then strapped around my wrist, like that of a Poketch. I thought that Crimson was an interesting name. And so were the nicknames of his Pokemon: Feral Star the Starmie and Blood Rose the Roserade.

I grabbed my bag, filling it with a few extra Pokedolls as well as with some healing items and emergency supplies. I exited the Ranger Outpost, and called out my Staraptor. The only sign indicating I had been there before the rest was my room's door being opened wide, as well as a pouch containing at least six of my Pokemon.

"Nia, it's time for another trip to the Botanic Gardens." And with that, I hopped onto her back just a split-second before she flapped her broad wings and took to the sky.

Time flew past rapidly as we soared over the horizon. On a few moments' time, we found ourselves right above the entrance of the Gardens. My partner swooped down, landing on the ground without any problem, at all - not even a bump, not even a scratch. It was a smooth and graceful landing, for sure.

"Another glorious day I suppose," I thought to myself with a little sigh as I found myself walking towards the entrance of the area known as the Botanic Gardens. The air was nice and calm with an occasional tiny wind gust that managed to move the spikes on my red hair ever so slightly. Since it was early in the day, the air was cool but the wind was cooler. "Luckily I have my coat, otherwise I think I would start freezing to death..." I said in a half joking tone. Still despite the looming chill in the air, it thankfully was not raining or hailing. I hate hail especially, because whether you want to admit it or not; those little ice pellets hurt. I rummaged through one of the pockets on my coat and pulled out a Pokeball. "Why don't you come on out and get a good feel of how today will be for you Feral Star?" I said as I tossed the Pokeball a couple feet in front of me.

The ball containing my "oldest" companion burst open with a bright, white light and a ten-armed blue star creature appeared before me as the Pokeball returned to my hand. It appeared to take a brief look around its surroundings and then stood there for just a moment, apparently soaking in the atmosphere. A couple seconds later, it shook violently and went back to its still position.

"I guess even Feral thinks it's too cold for a perfect day," I amusingly thought to myself with how funnily the spontaneous reaction of my companion turned out to be. I walked over to it and gave it a little pat on the back, trying to show that it was okay to think it was cold outside. I grabbed a second Pokeball in my coat pocket out and looked at it for a second. "Hey Feral, although this girl hasn't been with us for that long compared to you and me, you think she should come out and join us?" I asked, although the question was really directed towards myself as opposed to Feral Star. I already knew that Feral Star and my other faithful companion Blood Rose did not get along at all. If ever the two were outside their protective capsules at any one point, an argument usually would begin to arise. Since I did not want to deal with any fights this early in the morning, I decided to put the other Pokeball away for the time being. "Alright Feral, let's go. Our target, the Botanic Gardens." I ordered abruptly and we both began to march towards our destination.

Around 15 minutes later, we had arrived at the entrance of the area of the National Park known as the Botanic Gardens. My feet were starting to kill me so I found a nice, tall tree and dropped myself in front of it. I leaned my back against the fibrous surface and strangely felt relaxed as I just began to breath slowly, trying to relieve some of the pain in my feet.

Feral Star had the same idea in mind apparently during the time I begin to lounge at the tree, because it also found a small tree that was perfect compared to its smaller size and did the exact same thing I did. A little bubble appeared near the tip of its head and seemed to grow and shrink regularly.

"Hmmm... Must be sleeping already. I know its always been one to not get riled up, but this is ridiculous," I sighed thinking that if this was was Feral Star was going to do for a chunk of the day, this was going to be long. I looked around, wondering when my appointed Ranger was supposed to arrive. After no apparent signs of anybody in the area, I went back to leaning down on the tree. Not too long after I decided to begin lounging again however, I caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a large bird with a girl riding its back flying towards my direction. I remained silent as I watched the bird which I soon identified to be a Staraptor landed with the utmost finesse and grace. "Wow, that was a good landing if I have to say so myself," I thought in wonder as I decided to get up off my comfortable spot and walked over to the now grounded girl and her partner. I held out my hand and since I have an aversion to speaking towards other people, I simply said, "You're my Ranger? I am Crimson, your trainer."

It just so happened that the trainer was already there, waiting for us. Good - that would save us some time. During a lot of my runs in the past, trainers, whether overexcited or just plain eager, usually came after I arrived. This was one of the few who were early.

I hopped down from Nia as he walked towards me. "You're my Ranger? I am Crimson, your trainer," he introduced himself, holding out his hand. Beside him stood his Starmie, who didn't seem to be enjoying the cool weather.

"Yeah, that's me. My name's Elisa," I replied as I took his outstretched hand, and shook it politely. I turned, pushing the entrance gate of the Botanic Gardens open. "Alright, let's get going!"

The grass was green and lush, sprouting about in great big patches on either side of the narrow path. The trail was just wide enough for us to walk side by side, and his Feral Star to wander on a little bit ahead of us. I was glad I was wearing jeans for the bright green blades could tickle and poke my ankles. And, it was rather annoying - getting your leg all itchy, as well as having to scratch it every now and then.

I looked around, keeping an eye out for any wild creatures that could possibly be lurking about. The wide open space was home to many Pokemon, and any one of them could jump out at you any time and anywhere.

I remembered, from my other visits to this zone, the dirt road we were taking now would split into three. One leading to some greenhouses, another leading to a small forest of sorts, and the last would take you around the huge area of the Gardens.

"Are you interested in a particular entity here in the Botanic Gardens? Or would you be happy with anything that comes your way?" I asked Crimson, trying to strike up a conversation.

Our first encounter soon came into view just a moment later. It hopped on out in front of us, blocking our path. It was a small green and peach-colored Pokémon, which was a clear inspiration from mushrooms. It was peach on the upper half, where it was spotted with green-colored dots, and had a small opening at the top. That section ended with frilled segments, which overlapped its green underside. The Mushroom Pokemon's underside was round and had small, round feet. A frown was spread on its face, and from what I recall, this species rarely smiled.

I brought my yellow RDA forward, allowing it to scan the wild being. In a mechanical voice, the device said, "If it senses danger, it scatters poison spores from the top of its head to protect itself. These spores cause pain all over if inhaled." Oh, how I did hope it wouldn't emit a barrage of toxic.

"Would you be interested in battling this Shroomish, Crimson?" I asked the trainer. These kinds of Pokemon were interesting species, and quite a number of trainers wanted one of their own. In fact, I wouldn't mind getting one of these myself.

Elisa and I were walking down the main pathway of the Botanic Gardens, with Feral Star ahead of us as if it wanted to take the lead the entire time. The air was a little warmer than it was when we first began, but it was still quite cold for my tastes. "I wonder what Pokemon I will see and get to catch today," I thought without changing my facial expression.

As we were walking along, I heard Elisa ask, "Are you interested in a particular entity here in the Botanic Gardens? Or would you be happy with anything that comes your way?"

I was just about to answer her question when a small little mushroom appeared in the path in front of us. Feral Star had already stopped just before us as I gazed at the entity that was standing before me. It was extremely tiny and had a round body. The most important thing I noted was that it did not look like it wanted me and my ranger to pass very easily. "So that's a Shroomish... I have heard they are good Pokemon," I thought as I continued to look at the little mushroom Pokemon.

Just as I finished my thought, I heard Elisa ask me, "Would you be interested in battling this Shroomish, Crimson?"

I stood there pondering for a moment and finally I looked up at my Feral Star and without any hesitation or wavering in my voice, I commanded it, "Get ready, our target is that Shroomish."

I knew Feral Star had heard my command because it then stiffened up its body, as if it wanted to be fully alert for the upcoming battle that was about to begin.

I knew I had to throw out the first attack, so I commanded Feral Star, "Begin by using your Thunder Wave to grab onto Shroomish!"

Feral Star responded and almost immediately, purplish sparks formed around all of its points and with a swift movement, the little sparks became long purple streams of electricity and they headed straight for the little mushroom Pokemon.

Crimson simply stood there for a moment as he pondered whether or not he should battle the wild creature. He looked at his Starmie, and in a strong voice, he shouted, "Get ready, our target is that Shroomish." The Pokemon stood up tall on his lower points, ready and alert. I knew that he was weak to Grass-typed attacks, and I was quite certain the trainer knew that as well. I just hoped they had a plan.

The teen's first command was for his Water-Psychic-type to use a status-inflicting move, called Thunder Wave. Almost immediately, he responded by emitting a load of slightly purple-colored sparks. All around his ten points, they were cracking. And with a swift mighty push, he sent them flying towards the opponent. The small tendrils of electricity soon became long streaks of electrical energy. The next thing the Grass-type knew, it was already being bound tightly by the streams. They were sparking as they were wrapped around it tightly, squeezing it as electrical pulses seeped into its body.

"Shroom!!" it wailed and flinched as electricity surged through his body. Its small figure almost went limp as soon as the tendrils loosened their grasp on it. They dissipated into thin air - however, they left pain on the Shroomish.

It growled, planning to get its revenge. It wanted the Mysterious Pokemon to get a taste of its own medicine. Stun Spore was the name of this attack, which also inflicted the status ailment named Paralysis. However, it felt more electricity surging through its bloodstream. It couldn't move, at all. No, it was paralyzed. It could have released many spores, - powders floating about. Lucky for Crimson's partner, paralysis had taken over.

It fell to the ground, trying its very best to forget about the pain. It stood up once more a few moments later. It powered up once more, hoping its ailment wouldn't conquer it. It began to hop around. The Mushroom Pokemon leaped into the air - its stubby feet were quite strong, weren't they? It shot forward, heading straight for the Starmie. It butted him with the top of its head upon contact. He still kept his cool, though. It released a small amount of poison spores from the opening on the top of its head. This was its ability, Effect Spore, where there was a chance that - upon physical contact - the entity could inflict a condition (one of the three - paralysis, poison, or sleep). I didn't know which kind of powder it released, though it looked like the Water-Psychic-type was getting a bit drowsy.

I waited to see what Crimson would do about this. Even though Feral Star hadn't been induced with the Sleep status ailment yet, his was already quite drowsy now, and could fall into a deep slumber later on. That would have a rather large impact on how this battle would play out - the tables could, indeed, be turned.

I smiled in satisfaction as Shroomish became immersed in Feral Star's electrical attack. As it flailed in desperation, I could tell that the Thunder Wave attack had done its job. The electrical pulses burst and Shroomish fell to the ground. I could tell it was very angry that a Pokemon like Feral Star had managed to hit it so it began to try and retaliate, but to no avail. What it did next however, I did not expect in my wildest imagination. The small, seemingly weak Pokemon leaped at Feral Star and slammed into it with full force. I noticed however, that Shroomish had released a small number of spores onto Feral Star and that Feral Star was beginning to sway side to side, as if it was getting drowsy.

"That was an impressive attack for such a little Pokemon. I need to try a new tactic and fast..." I thought trying to piece together a strategy that would net me my catch without a great deal of hassle. Seeing as how Shroomish would have some trouble moving due to the paralysis, I took a couple extra seconds to ponder. I gazed around my surroundings, trying to figure out a way to maximize the damage output I could do to it while also hopefully further immobilizing it. While I could only see trees and various other plants around me, I took a quick glance at the path around Shroomish and immediately an idea popped into my head. "I just hope Feral isn't woozy to the point of not finishing this combo..." I fought with myself as I then commanded to Feral Star, "Feral, use Hydro Pump all over this central area by combining it with Rapid Spin and then use the same combo only using Ice Beam instead of Hydro Pump!"

Crimson gazed around at his surroundings, as if coming up with a new tactic. The clock was ticking - who knew how much time was left until his Starmie would fall asleep? Feral Star swayed drowsily from side to side as the trainer quickly called out his next command, "Feral, use Hydro Pump all over this central area by combining it with Rapid Spin and then use the same combo only using Ice Beam instead of Hydro Pump!"

It nodded as it powered up as fast as it could. It also knew that it could doze off any moment now, and so it needed to hurry. It leapt into the air, and began to spin 'round and 'round. I watched as its purple points whizzed past in circles. The continuous turning kept the Water-Psychic-type off the ground. The next instant, it was releasing a strong blast of water.

My eyes lit up at the beauty of the combo. It wasn't the first time I had seen something of this sort, but the way it was performing the moves made it a more pleasant sight. It seemed to fit in with the creature - it spun around the area as water shot out from its points, creating a swirling twister-like tsunami. The water splashed about, drenching the ground and the whole area itself. I stepped back to avoid being soaked by the cool liquid. The Rapid Spin+Hydro Pump combo attacked the Shroomish, submerging the entity with cold water.

Feral stopped spinning. It plopped back down onto the now-wet grass, preparing for the next combo. It began to spin once more after a few moments, lifting itself off the grass-filled clearing again. Meanwhile, the Shroomish gathered its energy. Grass-typed power coursed through its body as Ice-typed energy filled the Mysterious Pokemon. From the top of the wild organism's head, an orb began to form. It was glowing white as it rose upwards, it then multiplied to four hard-shelled seeds. Crimson's Pokemon emitted an erratic beam made of ice from its core, however, it was beginning to falter in strength and stamina. As it whirled above the ground, the ice streak froze multiple parts of the clearing - though, unfortunately not being able to hit its target. However, the makeshift battlefield was now covered with numerous ice spears and chunks.

Then, it happened. The Water-Psychic-type fell downwards sleepily, and just as it hit the soft lush grass, it snoozed of into dreamland. And though that might sound all nice and fluffy, it wasn't - not for the trainer, at least. For the Mushroom Pokemon, though, it was clearly advantageous in this battle. It pushed the bomb-like seeds forward, hurtling them towards the sleeping creature. The white elongated spheres shot forwards and dropped onto it like a real bomb would. They didn't explode like a dynamite, but they certainly took out a large chunk of its health.

The Grass-type now began to charge up for another assault. Well, whatever that attack would have been, it didn't happen. It cringed as electricity shot through its bloodstream, conquering it. It fell backwards, hitting a shard full of ice, limp - without movement. It tried to move, but to no avail. Paralysis had overcome it this time. It seemed as though the bout was pretty even now - considering both Pokemon had a major status ailment.

Now how was Crimson to get out of this one? With his Starmie asleep for who knows how long, how was this battle going to turn out? Surely, this was going to be quite interesting to watch... Unless, of course, nothing happened - say, Feral would continue to sleep, while the wild entity would stay paralyzed?

OOC: We can make it female. Haha.

    IC:

Feral Star began to pull off its elegant combo with any flaws and I thought that it would succeed before it fell asleep, leaving it wide open to any attacks even from a paralyzed Pokemon like Shroomish. My hope and joy did not last however because just as Feral was in the middle of its second combo, it fell asleep. Floating as if it was on balloons back down to the now wet and in some parts icy path.

"Okay.... now this is bad. What the heck am I going to do now?" I thought somewhat frantically as I looked up and noticed that the little mushroom was taking advantage of Feral's little nap and had begun to launch an assault.

She created four spheres and launched them at Feral, slamming it four times with a surprisingly great amount of force. The sound coming from each hit didn't sound like explosions, but rather like a dull object such as a hammer slamming into a hard, thick piece of wood. Shroomish then began to try and launch another attack, but I could see the sparks of electricity course through her body. She fell backwards right into an ice shard, which seemed to do a decent amount of damage to her.

Instead of briskly awakening to the amount of damage it had just sustained or to even prepare against the chance of another attack happening, Feral just silently dozed off right in front of me.

"Must be a good dream if it didn't wake up after an attack like that.... Luckily, I have a back up plan. It may work against me as well, but I have that handled as well," I calmly told myself as I grabbed my second Pokeball and threw it next to me calmly ordering as I did, "Blood Rose, come out and use Aromatherapy. I need your help."

The ball hit the ground and burst open, releasing a creature that was immersed in a bright, white light. As the light faded away from the creature, a beautiful Pokemon stood with roses for each of her hands and a large rose on top. Without wasting any time after being released from her confines, she begun to dance and shake around and I could immediately pick up the smell of what smelled to be what I thought was lavender.

The aroma wafted throughout the entire area and as it surrounded Feral, it jolted straight awake and began to shake off any of the pain it was now beginning to feel.

"I am sure that Shroomish will be getting healed as well, so I must take the advantage while I still have it," I thought as I looked at all the ice shards and chucks that were remaining after Feral's not quite failed attempt at finishing its combo. It didn't take long for me to order Feral Star, "Use Psychic on all the ice in this area and quickly use it to create a structure to contain Shroomish!"

Feral Star obeyed immediately, as if it wasn't too happy it had been attacked while asleep. A purple aura began to surround the starfish and as it projected that aura towards all the ice, the affected chunks and shards began to glow the purple aura as well. With great precision that I knew only Feral could do, it threw the ice at the little mushroom using its telekinetic powers.

The trainer thought quickly, tossing out another Pokeball. I could see calmness in his eyes - he did not seemed to be worried at all with the current situation. He probably already figured out a plan that he was almost a hundred percent sure that it would unfold properly.

"Blood Rose, come out and use Aromatherapy. I need your help," he commanded his Roserade. Ah, yes, I recognized this move as the Grass-Poison-type secreted a relaxing scent - quite the opposite of the wild entity, who had almost caused me to inhale her poisonous powders

The smell not only calmed me down, but also had a large effect on the creatures engaged in battle. Feral Star was awakened almost immediately by the sweet aroma, while the Shroomish jolted straight up from her earlier paralyzed position. I guess you could say it was a 50-50 situation - the Thorn Pokemon had healed her fellow comrade, however it also cured the opponent of her status ailment. Ah, well, more evenness in that I guess.

Crimson nodded, calling out without hesitation, "Use Psychic on all the ice in this area and quickly use it to create a structure to contain Shroomish!" The Mysterious Pokemon focused its Psychic energy into its core, where, later on, power would burst out to envelop the icicles scattered around the make-shift battlefield.

A purple glow soon began to emit from the creature, giving it a mystical glimmer. The aura flowed freely across the field, and soon began to take control of the ice shards. They were now floating in the air, and the concentrating Water-Psychic-type moved them rapidly towards the Mushroom Pokemon. She charged up again, and decided to use an attack she had already tried earlier. Oval-shaped seeds quickly formed around her, glistening white as before. The "bombs"were sent on a collision course with the frozen spears. The result? A crash and cloud of smoke over the grass.

The Starmie seemed to have cringed a little when most of the icicles were demolished. With the few that were left, though, it managed to build a small structure around the wild entity. It did not really contain its target, but at least, the fortress hindered it from some movement. She powered up once more, releasing another barrage of seeds. This time, however, they were smaller and, thus, fired off more rapidly. If the earlier assault exploded like a bomb, this one shot through the air like speeding bullets. The oval-shaped bead-like structures rained down on Feral continuously, dealing a considerable amount of damage.

The Grass-type was not finished yet, however. She eyed the male teen's two Pokemon, and let out a snarl. She'd attack them both, she figured. With a huff, she gathered her energy for this might actually be the last time she would be able to attack - considering what the Mysterious Pokemon could do, it could quite possibly trap her in a much better ice castle. She released a wave of poisonous spores, all purple in coloration. I gulped, knowing immediately what this move could do. I covered my nose at once, not wanting to inhale any of the powders. The Shroomish was trying to inflict another status condition... Oh, fun.

"Feral is getting way too battered and bruised", I thought after seeing that immediately following my Pokemon's somewhat successful attack, the little mushroom Pokemon had retaliated with an impressive barrage of attacks. I recognized both Bullet Seed and Seed Bomb get shot at Feral and knew that they were doing some pretty good damage due to Feral's weakness to grass type attacks.

I looked intently on Shroomish and noticed that she was snarling in my direction. Before I had the chance to really consider what the snarling would entail, I saw her release a large wave of what appeared to be poisonous spores. It looked just like a tsunami wave; only that wasn't water that made up the dangerous attack. Unfortunately for me they were coming not only for Feral; but for Blood Rose, my ranger, and me.

I glanced over and noticed that my ranger had already begun to shield her sinuses by covering up her nose. I instantaneously flickered back to the looming attack that was coming my way and knew I had very little time to think. In a rapid pace I thought, "Alright, time to see how well Feral is at shapes..." I then picked up a Pokeball from my belt and yelled, "Return Blood Rose quickly!" The ball shot out a red beam and as quickly as the beam had been shot, Blood Rose was gone.

I thrust the ball back into my pocket and then without any more hesitation I commanded to Feral, "Alright Feral, let's do this. First use Psychic to control the wave that is presently about to slam into us and quite possibly knock us all out. Then use your telekinetic powers to whirl the spores around you and create a giant disc and then use Rapid Spin to turn yourself into a whirling chainsaw with your target being that Shroomish!"

As Feral prepared the combo, my mind came to one thought, "This had better work otherwise I don't know if any of us will be getting out of here with our health intact".

Crimson hastily called back his Roserade, and after thrusting the red-and-white-colored orb back into his pocket, he focused his attention on Feral Star. "Alright Feral, let's do this. First use Psychic to control the wave that is presently about to slam into us and quite possibly knock us all out. Then use your telekinetic powers to whirl the spores around you and create a giant disc and then use Rapid Spin to turn yourself into a whirling chainsaw with your target being that Shroomish!"

The Starmie nodded, though the command seemed to confuse it a bit. It charged up once more, the same type of power filling it. It began to glimmer in a powerful aura as it concentrated. Soon, the telekinetic energy took control of the huge wave of poison heading straight for us. The Water-Psychic-type changed the course of the spores, moving them around the area so they surrounded it instead.

The powders rose, glowing, and soon morphed into a disc-like shape - exactly what the trainer wanted. Now, the next part of the order was tricky. The Mysterious Pokemon would have to have enough power so as to control the poison disc with its psychic powers, as well as to powerfully turn into a spinning force. A force the would blow the opponent away, literally and figuratively.

It lifted itself off the ground, while still concentrating on the spores. With a slight heave, it pushed the wave off - back to where the powders had come from, the Mushroom Pokemon - as it began whirling around. Due to the large amount of power it put in to the Normal-typed attack, it also managed to release a large gust of wind. The air propelled the poisonous barrage, which soon contaminated the target, leaving her with a major status ailment. Feral was not done yet, however.

It continued to turn and turn rapidly, pushing forwards. Like how it had executed the assault earlier, it slammed straight into the Grass-type, who was already in pain from her own spores. She had gotten a taste of her own medicine. It bounced back, landing on the lush grass with its points standing. The wild entity howled in agony as toxic coursed through her bloodstream. The poison damaged her on the inside, though it was just as evident on the outside as it was internally.

As I finished my unusually hasty command, I watched as the blue starfish began by controlling the immense wave of spores that were coming in our direction and as I had planned, Feral began to swirl the ring of spores into a whirling chainsaw blade.

Intently looking on, I gazed upon the size of the ring that had been constructed using Feral's telekinetic powers. "Is that really the true size of the wave? If so, that would have probably knocked us all out for sure if it had been allowed to engulf us," I thought with a barely audible sigh as to not let on that I really was concerned about this crucial attack combo working.

As I finished my thought, I had watched as not only did the little mushroom Pokemon get slammed into by the whirling chainsaw-like entity but also had been attacked heavily by Feral's followup attack which had connected with the little body of my opponent perfectly.

I smiled as I realized how well Feral had executed its command. "I don't think I could have made that result any better if I tried," I thought as I watched the little female mushroom howl in pain from the toxic spores that Feral had just redirected. However, I also noticed that my companion was beginning to look even more battered and bruised than it had looked just the turn before. "I gotta either end this now or help keep Feral from being a casualty in this park..." I painstakingly thought to myself as I considered my next course of action. I didn't want to knock out Shroomish or my own partner for that matter. Eventually, the thought came to my head and I began to issue a command at Feral, "Alright Feral, use Recover to heal your wounds and then use Reflect to protect yourself from any incoming attacks that your adversary may end up using."

Starmie nodded in approval and began the first non-attacking phase of the battle I think I had ever commanded it to do. Judging by its nickname, Feral was used to usually non-stop attacking, and taking the time to recover its injuries were usually saved for after all the battles were done. It never complained, but it was an unusual command I think Feral felt.

I was just about to allow the powerful starfish to initiate its combo, when I instantly thought of what would happen should this not work. Before my partner could even begin to heal its wounds, I commanded, "Alright Feral, reverse my commands. Use Reflect first as your barrier and then continue on with your execution of Recover. Maybe it will protect you from any extreme harm that tricky little devil might try to induce." My mind turned to one thought as I finished issuing my order, "Hopefully that poison damage that my little enemy is currently experiencing will not knock it out. That is not what I want at all".

It was evident that his Pokemon had been badly damaged from all the assaults of the wild Shroomish. It was a risky command, for the opponent could take advantage of the creature's healing and attack with a mighty move like Seed Bomb, but nevertheless, Crimson ordered for Feral to use Recover, which would then be followed up by Reflect.

Now, Recover was a move in which the user would heal itself by half of its maximum amount of health, or HP, as well call it. However, as the entity would be concentrating on remedying itself, the enemy could launch an attack which could potentially take out a big chunk of its health even if it would be able to finish curing itself - on the other hand, it could terminate the healing process completely.

As if the trainer read my thoughts (or, perhaps, even the other way around), he called out once more, right before the Starmie could initiate the move. "Alright Feral, reverse my commands. Use Reflect first as your barrier and then continue on with your execution of Recover. Maybe it will protect you from any extreme harm that tricky little devil might try to induce."

The Water-Psychic-type nodded, now creating a a brightly-glowing barrier in front of it. Psychic energy encloses the organism, boxed in a light blue hue. It glimmers in the sunlights, then suddenly vanishes. The Shroomish seems to let out a sigh of relief, thinking nothing had happened - but we knew better.

The Mysterious Pokemon then proceeded to the next part of the combo, which was to restore its lost health. It concentrated once more, before glowing with a whole new load of Psychic-energy. It was soon radiating in orange. The hue surrounded it from top to bottom, and it relaxed for it knew the Reflect box-like shape would protect it - one way or another. Crimson's partner was being soothed by the soft glowing energy, and was quickly regaining its strength.

The Mushroom Pokemon, on the other hand, took this scenario as an opportunity to attack (as predicted). She dove in quickly, realizing that time was of the essence as of the moment. Who knew how much time she had before her foe could completely recover? And, thus, she thought of the easiest assault she could launch; she tackled the Starmie full force. However, the screen it had created earlier minimized the amount of damage the attack actually dealt. And, to add to that loss, the icicles that were surrounding the Grass-type weren't of much help for she had some difficulty shooting itself out of the ice prison.

The creature sighed as the Water-Psychic-type awoke from its focus, having renewed almost the full amount of its energy. The wild Shroomish turned, and set off to work on destroying the shards of cold energy that hindered her from performing her very best. She butted her head against the spears, slowly but surely shattering them into pieces. These small bits were comparable to fragmentized glass - risky for every living entity that would happen to walk by. Not only that, but, if the teen had been planning for the ice cage to be of use when in attempting to capture the Shroomish - well, his confinement was now being demolished.

However, before managing to finish her task, the Grass-type howled in agony. She felt the sting of the poison rushing through her bloodstream once more. As the toxic had done earlier, it damaged her inside, taking a reasonable amount of health. Fortunately, it was not enough to knock her out - instead, it left her ripe for capture.

Crimson would have to act fast if he wanted to end this battle quickly - for the better of everyone. And done it was done and over with, we would still have to clean up the small ice particles. Now was probably a great time to throw a Parkball at the wild Mushroom Pokemon.
