Buzz stood in the Pokémon storage area of his gym, the Mauville City Gym. The computer on the right read out Rental Pokémon. He looked at the three Poké Balls resting on the tray beneath it. Well the Rotom is going to be tricky to get, and the ex gym leader contacted me saying he would give me his recently caught Galvantula so that takes care of two. Now just for the Eelektross. With a cursory glance at his watch, he realised that Ivy would still be on shift. Dashing off to his office he hopped onto his gym computer.
Hey Ivy, I wanted to go on a quick trip through the Lakes this afternoon. It's a bit of a speed run. I'm looking for a few specific 'mons. Want to go with?
It was a bit cheeky not to go through the regular channels to organise a Park run, but he knew and trusted Ivy. It was bound to be a good trip. Right on cue, a pink flash behind him told him that River Tam; his often sarcastic but trusted ally had appeared. Awesome, you ready to go the lakes, I just need to swing by the office to collect my supplies. Oh and I have to pick up Thundera and Jolteon.
"No Electro today?"
Nah, he is a bit too powerful for the lakes, not that Thundera and Jolteon aren't. Just that they have access to more troublesome moves rather than all out power. I be surfin' on mah Raichu bitches. After quickly collecting the other two Poké Balls from the rack and slotting them on his waist, River teleported herself and Buzz to the National Park.
It was an Island quite far of the coast of the original regions. For most people it would usually require the use of the regular Ferry, but River had discovered a stop off point, a small outlay of rocks which she could teleport too to make the journey easier. Buzz smiled as the sea wind rustled his hair. Waves crashed against the small rocks he stood upon. He could just make out the two mountains of the National Park on the horizon, but they vanished in a pink flash.
Buzz was now stood in his office, he was collecting his usual trainer supplies, Park Balls, Poké Dolls. When he noticed a small sack in the bottom of his cupboard. He remembered he had found it at christmas time when all the rangers and trainers had mysterious summons to help someone out. Not only that the Pokémon at the Park had been acting very oddly. Inside was an assortment of useful items so he quickly poured the contents into his travel pack.
A small leaflet fell out and floated to the floor, Buzz smiled realising what it was. Sweet, not only will I have the chance to capture the Pokémon I want, but I don't even have to pay for it. Buzz quickly logged onto his ranger email, happy to notice that Ivy was up for the run.
Buzz was in half a mind to wander to her desk and wander with her but he figured she had already left. "River, whenever you're ready lets get up to the Lakes," Buzz said waiting by the green bird who was now perched on the desk. She gave no sarcastic remark for once and in her signature pink flash of light, the pair were once again sent hurtling through the very fabric of space.
Buzz blinked and he was stood in front of outpost two. He had yet to do an official run round the park, he had one trainer signed up but there had been no response in months. Ivy was sat on a bench just by the entrance, a pink feline trailed around her legs. That was Haji, her newly acquired psychic partner. Buzz always figured she had been jealous of the connection shared between himself and River. Chainy and Dual shared a similar bond but Dual was more of a quiet type only chiming out quick thoughts and comments. Buzz hadn't had the chance to talk with Haji so he didn't know quite was his personality was.
"Hey, Ivy. Thanks for this, I guess this means I owe you," Buzz said wandering over to his Ranger. Buzz pulled out the Poké Player from his bag and slotted in one of his Tynamo voice disks. "Might as well get this show on the road." Buzz pushed the play button and a curious cry of the levitating electric type played out.
