"Sorry Bronzong, but I don't have the time to entertain you." He said, as he pulled out a Pokedoll out of his bag, and flung it towards the Bronzong. "Leo, duck!" Natsu threw a doll over my head. If I hadn't ducked he would have surely smacked the doll in my face. Of course since it was a doll, it wouldn't have hurt, but still would be rude. I just shook my head and pointed ahead of me, signaling to him that we were going that way. I heard a small explosion come from farther in the cave.

"What the fu-" I said. "What the heck was that. Follow me." I ran up the path. It was my job as a Ranger to investiagte anything odd that happens in the park. If I was just a regular Ranger, I would have just let it go, but being an Elite made me feel that it was my job to investigate. The volcano wasn't supposed to erupt anytime soon, perhaps something was causing it to do so. Whatever the reason was, I had to find out quick before something bad happened.

Then we heard a boom, it was a bit smaller than the one from a few moments ago, but this time a piece of the left wall came crumbling down and a Litwick came flying out. The small candle flew into the right cave wall. The Litwick glared at us angrily.

"You want to battle it?" I asked. "You may have to calm it down a bit. Chainclaw, go scout up ahead but don't engage in any battles without reporting to me."

Ranger Cameron shook my head and pointed ahead, signalling to me that we were going that way. Though, our presence was not welcomed. Then, we heard a small explosion come from deep inside the cave. Natsu smiled to himself, as if he knew who that could have been, but kept quiet for the moment being.

"What the fu-" Cameron yelled. "What the heck was that? Follow me!" he said cautiously, while running up the path. Natsu was impressed. It was their job as a Ranger to investigate anything odd that happens inside the park. If he was just a regular Ranger, he might have chosen to avoid it, but being an Elite made him feel investigate. Natsu could tell everything with just a scenario. He didn’t make a bad choice at all, making Cameron an Elite Ranger. He took a quick glimpse around, and noticed that the volcano wasn't going to erupt anytime soon, or at least, going by his report he received earlier in his office. Perhaps something was causing it to do so.

Immediately after, we heard a boom. The impact was a bit smaller than the one from a few moments ago, but this time a piece of the left wall came crumbling down and surprisingly enough, another Litwick came flying out. The small candle flew into the right cave wall. The Litwick glared at us angrily.

“..Wow. You flew right into that wall, and you’re now glaring at us? You fail, but you’re cute. I’ll catch you. It’s not far away anyways. Sending small threats like you isn’t going to stop me from reaching it.” Natsu told the Litwick.

"You want to battle it?" I asked. "You may have to calm it down a bit. Chainclaw, go scout up ahead but don't engage in any battles without reporting to me." Cameron asked his Excadrill.

The Mole Pokemon dug up a hole and disappeared. Cameron’s attention turned to me next. He was waiting for an answer.

“Calm it down? I’ll shut it up if that’s cool. Garchomp, want to give this little critter a toss or two? I’m pretty sure you’re itching to fight!” Natsu turned to Garchomp.

“GARRRRRRRR!!”

“You’re sure psyched up for battle. Let’s do this. Set up a Swords Dance, and whip up a Sandstorm in here. Let’s see how our foe reacts. We shall move on from there.” Natsu called out to Garchomp.

Garchomp lifted both its claws up and quickly, it started to glow in light blue. Soon, the claws seemed to have grown even longer, and stretched out as much as it could even touch the ceilings of the volcano. The scenery was remarkable indeed, and it portrays how much of strength Garchop is holding back. However, it’s still under the restraint.

“GAR GAR GAR GAR” Garchomp bellowed, as it began digging the ground around it and started whipping up a slight sandstorm.

“Cameron, take cover. This might be a little nasty!” Natsu forewarned his Ranger.

“GARRR” The hammer head Pokémon snarled.

Garchomp structured its position as such it directed the sandstorm right towards the glaring Litwick who set its eyes on us. Natsu awaited, and wondered what would happen next. No matter how his little opponent’s going to react, he’s got this all wrapped up. A Garchomp with an attack boost is not to be taken lightly…at all.

Ranger : Leo

“Calm it down? I’ll shut it up if that’s cool. Garchomp, want to give this little critter a toss or two? I’m pretty sure you’re itching to fight! You’re sure psyched up for battle. Let’s do this. Set up a Swords Dance, and whip up a Sandstorm in here. Let’s see how our foe reacts. We shall move on from there.” Natsu turned towards his Garchomp. I just rolled my eyes. If I ever brought this Trainer in again, I was going to bring headphones to drown out his constantly babbling.


Garchomp lifted both its claws up. Instantly, they began glowing a baby blue color as they grew twice their normal size. It was clear his Swords Dance move worked. His crazy high attack was now just doubled.

“Cameron, take cover. This might be a little nasty!” Natsu warned me. A sandstorm wasn't going to do much to me, especially since Mindbender could easily throw up a barrier when needed.

Garchomp quickly began digging, sending dirt and rocks flying everywhere, but mainly towards Litwick. Garchomp finally stopped digging when a medium sized cloud surrounded the Candle Pokemon. Litwick screeched in pain from the attack. It was an eerie sound, which was no surprise coming from a Ghost Pokemon. In that cry, Litwick began forming ghastly orbs of energy. She had created three large balls of dark supernatural energy and fired them at Garchomp. Since the Litwick was at a pretty close range, all three balls hit the Dragon beast, but in different locations.

“Garchomp! Are you alright?!” Natsu called out.

A minor explosion occurred from the impact of the three shadow balls, but as the smoke cleared out quickly, Garchomp stood still like a tower. It was damaged, but the dragon shrugged it off like it was nothing. Garchomp has gone through a lot more in battles, and with nastier opponents. Besides, with Sandstorm raging around, Garchomp has the upper hand with his ability, Sand Veil. Cameron noticed how nubby this Trainer was, not only could he talk a lot, but makes no sense when executing commands. Then, he took a look at Garchomp. Scratch marks, scars existed almost everywhere around it. He knew it went through a lot of crap, but it’s still standing tall and proud. Was this Trainer a real nub or trying to pretend to be one? Cameron was smart enough not to fall for this sort of tricks, and kept a watchful eye on Natsu.

“Garchomp, do you still remember? Do you still remember, what Sara told us?” Natsu began to wonder.

“Garrr…” Garchomp gave a slight nod, agreeing.

“Heh. Sand Veil huh? That would really help you out here Garchomp. Afterall… She taught us everything we knew.” Natsu said, in a lower tone, so that his Ranger doesn’t eavesdrop.

Natsu took a deep breath, as his mind wandered off to the scene at a certain playground situated right outside National Park, years ago.

“Hey Haru! You do know that Sand Veil gives an upper hand to your Gible during battles, right?” Sarah said, smiling.

“Huh? It’s just ability, Sara, like any other. Besides, you’ll never really know when Gible will activate it…which makes it more than just reluctant for me to rely on it during battles.” Haru replied.

“Are you an idiot? That ability is activated when you put up a Sandstorm, nub!” Sarah said, giggling.

“Stop calling me a nub!” Haru frowned, placing his eyes on the ground.
“Gibbbbb!!!” Gible jumped about, expressing Haru’s aversion.

Sara and Haru had just finished a battle, and of course, Sara won.

“Naww, Come on Haru. You know I’m teasing around, right? Besides, I won’t be able to tease you as much when you leave for the Unova Region again tomorrow…” Sara replied, and there seemed a slight disturbance in her voice.

“HEY! It’s not like I’m going to stay there forever you know? Just family business and I’ll be back as soon as you know it!” Haru sneered.

“You will not forget me, right, Haru?” Sarah asked, with a slight frown.

“It’s hard actually. You’re the only girl who looks like a guy anyways…”
As soon as Haru was about to finish his sentence, Sarah run and gave Haru a huge, painful nudge on his head.

“Arrrrgghh!” Haru bawled, as Gible watched and cackled at the two.
“You have a lot to learn, boy.” Sara replied, as she made her way back home.

“Just because you’re older than me by 3 years doesn’t mean you get to call me ‘boy’, Sara. Oh and when I do return from my vacation, my Gible would have already evolved into a Garchomp. I demand that we have a rematch then! I would be a lot stronger by then, so you better be prepared as well! Train every day, Sara, until I return!!!” Haru shouted as he made his last sentence, not knowing if the message reached Sara, who had now walked quite far away from him.

Sara turned back, and replied Haru with nothing but just a smile. Haru reddened, and Gible didn’t understand what was going on as it tugged Haru’s pants, breaking him from his ‘moment’.

“I will be stronger, Sara. You just watch!”…

“Garrrrrrrr…” Garchomp sneered, as he looked into Litwick, who was merely inches away, and it seemed like to be protecting some sort of path.

“Heh, she still owes us a rematch, doesn’t she, Garchomp? Who would have thought we’d end up in such a mess? Unfortunately we’re her friends too. I know you miss your battle buddy too Garchomp. Sara’s starter, Bagon. Hell, it should be a Salamence by now. But Salamence being a part flying type doesn’t give her any advantages. You can fly too. You’re faster now.” Natsu thought to himself.

“Garr..Chomp…” Garchomp looked back and gave Natsu a stare.

“Oh yes. You wouldn’t want to lose to her again. I get it. That’s why we will get stronger. This opponent is nothing. Although it packs a punch for a size it is, we shouldn’t underestimate, rather, let’s put our words into actions. It’s now up to you, Garchomp!” !” Natsu reminisced..

“Gaaarrrrrawwwrrrrrrrrrrr!!” Garchomp gave out a huge roar, as it looked up the cavern ceiling. The rocks perched on top came tumbling down.

“Now, aim those rocks right towards Litwick to create a distraction!”
“Garrr!!” Garchomp stamped whatever came down right before its eyes, right towards Litwick. Rocks, of various sizes and shapes rocketed towards the Litwick.

“Now, use Dig and get behind Litwick. Use a Dragon Claw and send him flying towards the other side of the cave wall!” Natsu yelled.
“Gargargargargar” Garchomp drilled a hole and made a huge leap of faith, and disappeared.

While there were a pile of rocks heading towards Litwick, the hammerhead got behind Litwick and threw up its two hand claws, already glowing in purple. It started glowing light green, and in mixture with the purple outlines it already had, the claws were glowing radiant overall. Garchomp started slashing around and created ripples in the air which disrupted the environment around Litwick, a lot more difficult for it to move about where it stood. Garchomp thrust his claws towards Litwick, hoping to deliver a powerful Dragon Claw, also minding not to knock it out unconscious, as Natsu had said earlier, not to use its fullest strength…or at least, not yet.

“I believe in your ability, Garchomp. Not in Sand Veil to cover you up, but the experiences you’ve obtained right from the start, as a Gible…” Natsu thought to himself, as he grid his teeth and watched the entire battle scene, waiting for it to end.

“Garchomp, do you still remember? Do you still remember, what Sara told us?” Natsu asked, as he once more began to wander his mind. I wondered how he did in battles with all this wandering. With his focus no longer in the battle, I figured Litwick would go in for an attack, but the Candle instead was looking back frantically as if expecting something to come along. When Natsu finally came back to the battle, his Garchomp was still waiting for him to give orders, but did he give them? No. Instead, he gave another pep talk. Finally, after several moments of constant babbling, he gave his orders.

“Now, use Dig and get behind Litwick. Use a Dragon Claw and send him flying towards the other side of the cave wall!” Natsu yelled. His Garchomp, seeming content that his Trainer gave him an attack to use, dove into the ground head first. I could see a small trail of unearthed dirt moving towards Litwick, who was still distracted. Garchomp popped out of the ground behind Litwick, like Natsu had instructed and slashed the Pokemon with his claw sending it flying.

Litwick, now angry, was still distracted. It had to be something really big for it to not be fully paying attention to this battle. Then, the candle began to glow a deep dark orange color and the place grew intensly hot. I could literally see the waves of heat around the area. It was like looking into an oven. I backed myself into the wall so that I wouldn't fall over from fatigue. Within seconds of Litwick using its attack, Mindbender threw a shield over Natsu and me, protecting us from the heat. I felt relieved, and mad that I didn't ask her to do this earlier. I hoped this battle was going end soon, cause I really hated the heat.

The entire arena was scorching hot. Not to mention the battle was held inside an active volcano which could go off in any instant. But he had to find that Chandelure. The only key that holds the answers to Natsu's queries. No matter how harsh things turned out to be, Natsu stood his ground. Garchomp, his ace Pokemon, although having suffered injuries, wasn't willing to give in. Or at least, not yet. It has not met any Pokemon of its caliber, per say. But time wasn't on Natsu's side. He had to hurry, or else he would miss out the only chance to find out what happened to Sara. Things went according to plan, but however, Litwick got even more furious. Though, it seemed a little distracted and somehow, it had to be something big for it not being able to give its fullest attention in this battle. Natsu on the other hand, decided to take this as an advantage. He quickly took a quick glimpse around his surroundings, trying to find out any possible loop he could manipulate to turn the tables around in his battle. However, to his disappointment there was nothing in sight, yet. Then, Litwick took a deep breath, as it began to glow a deep dark orange color as the battle ground grew intensly hot. Garchomp snarled as he felt the heat penetrating through his thick hide. Natsu saw Leo backing himself into the wall at the back, and understood he might go into a fatigue if this threat is not dealt with. Within seconds of Litwick using its attack, Leo's Mindbender threw a shield over us in an instant, protecting us from the heat. Litwick got ticked off even more, as it started spewing flames in all directions. Natsu smirked, as he saw a possible opening for an attack. However, he also had to remember not to knock out the Litwick by overexerting Garchomp's strength.

"Garchomp, let's start off with a Swords Dance. I know this is risky, but it will leave the Litwick with very little Health, enabling us his capture. I don't like to push it to its limit, but this is the only way. Remember, try not to use your full strength. I know you love to boast your monstrous power around, but remember, your worthy opponent hasn't made its appearance yet. You have to save as much energy as you can right now. Alright?" Natsu requested.

"Gar..." Garchomp slowly closed its eyes, and opened them back. Somehow, its black scleras looked sharp, and somewhat more fierce this time round. It quickly jumped up in the air, and started spinning extremely fast. A small sandstorm was evoked, but the heat that was generated by the Litwick started subsiding. It gave Garchomp an upper hand, and its evasion seemed to have improved as well. As Garchomp made a fearsome landing into the solid ground below, it lifted one of its claws above its head, and the other, behind its back. It positioned itself in such a way, that this battle would end, in just one turn. But could it pull it off? Without knocking out the Litwick? This is entirely dependent on Natsu. What sort of move would he pull off? Natsu had no much time left, as Litwick was starting to recover from the minor sandstorm which was stirred up earlier. If he doesn't move fast, Litwick might have more tricks up its sleeves, and Garchomp might sustain more injuries.

"Sara, what would you do if you were here right now?" Natsu asked himself, as he recalled a part of his memory years back...

"Hey Haru, one day, if I disappeared without notice, would you take care of the Park in my stead?"

"Huh? What gibberish are you blabbering again, Sara. For the last time, I'm not as perfect as you are. You are skillful not in just Pokemon knowledge, but in battles as well. I have more to learn, and why would you even disappear without notice? Won't you at least inform me of where you're off to? It's not like the world is going to end with just you in it, ya know"

"Leaders are not meant to be perfect, Haru. They just have to be right! We're human beings, you can't expect perfection! Make mistakes, learn from them!"

"Well, that's you I suppose. But you should also know I don't heed much to your life lessons. You know me better than anyone Sara. Now if you will, let's go to the Woods. I've received reports that there have been sightings of a certain Pokemon flying around the trees of the forest. They also mention that it leaves traces of glitter like light behind its trail."

"You don't think it could be that, right?"

"Only one way to find out!"

The memory quickly fades away, as Natsu comes back to his senses. Leo kept his sight on Natsu, just to make sure everything was fine. The volcanic grounds began to give tremors, but it wasn't huge. There was still time. Garchomp stayed focused, waiting for its' Trainer's command. Litwick looked like it was trapped under the mini sandstorm which was made earlier by a mere Swords Dance, and it was using the last of its flames to break free. Natsu had the right opportunity. Wait until the Litwick breaks out, and then dive in for the final blow. It wouldn't knock the ghostly candle out entirely, but it would leave it at its most minimal health, perfect enough for a capture. Perhaps this would bring out the Chandelure Natsu has been looking for, all this while.

"You wouldn't know unless you try, huh? Alright. No more wasting time. Garchomp, Dual Chop. One to break the sandstorm, and one for our little friend. While it is busy breaking out, he would be caught off guard the instant the storm breaks, and you dive in for an attack. I don't think he'd have the energy left to whip up any last minute attacks to counter you, and even if he does, we hall think of another way to get him! Let's GO!" Natsu ordered.

Garchomp took back a few steps, and folded up its body. It quickly extended its wings, and resembled somewhat like a jet plane. Without wasting a single moment, it flew at sonic speed towards the trapped Litwick. Both of its claws faced forward, giving off a bright purplish glow, Garchomp tore open the sandstorm with its right claw, and the sand hurricane burst into fragments and gave the hammerhead a clear opening. Litwick was caught off guard from the back, and tried shielding itself by covering itself with its flames. Garchomp let out one final growl, as it dived in with its left claw.

A huge crackling explosion followed soon after, but it settled down as fast as it erupted. The whole battlefield was covered with thick ash, but somehow, Natsu could see both Garchomp and Litwick's silhouette standing still.

“Well, let’s end this, Garchomp. Looks like we’ve delayed our stay here for long, and your health is waning by the minute. Cameron, watch out!” Natsu yelled, as he flung a Hyperball from his palm, towards Litwick...

Cameron, watch out!” Natsu yelled, I looked around to see who he was talking to. People always compared me to my brother Cameron, even though I was the older one, it was sort of disappointing. The oldest of many, yet I get compared to someone younger than me. I wasn't even sure how he knew Cameron since Cameron wasn't a Ranger anymore. He was more of a collector.
