We were now really deep into the forest. There were no paths whatsoever, and sometimes the trees formed walls that we couldn't pass through, necessitating detours. I wasn't really comfortable being this deep in the woods, especially at twilight, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want the Ranger to think I was a wuss.
Soon we all began smelling a vile stink. I didn't think much of it, marking it down as a random forest smell, but it got stronger and stronger and didn't go away.
"I bet you can guess what that is," Dee said to me.
Just as I was about to reply, a huge Skuntank stepped out from behind a tree. It was munching on something, and it watched us carefully with its beady little eyes.
I instinctively covered my nose and took a step back.
"Do you want to battle this thing?" Dee asked me.
"Nah," I replied. "Skuntank has a Dark typing, so Ralts would be helpless against it."
I began edging backwards, away from the Skuntank. I hoped it wouldn't pursue us.
