Okay, now that I've got your attention, I just wanted to say that my final exams will be done in just over a week, and then I've got a month with nothing to do. So, after I finish the pe2k grading backlog (shouldn't take too much longer...), y'all can send me your stories.

However, what I'm really interested in are recommendations for the library. It hasn't gotten nearly as much attention as it deserves, and I for one would like to change that. If you'd like me to take a look at a story, all I need is a link and the genre you think it might get an emblem for. Please only recommend your own stories to me, though, and here's why: My standards are going to be pretty high. If you recommend someone else's story and they haven't edited it since it was last graded or whatever, and they fail because of that, I don't think they'd be too happy that you recommended them. You're obviously more than welcome to tell them you think they should recommend themselves. Anyways, before sending me recommendations, I strongly suggest you take a good, hard look at your story. Definitely make any changes the grader thought you needed. And then change it some more, so it's absolutely stellar.

If you want, I can even take a look at it and tell you my opinion before I recommend it in the library, giving you more advice on how to improve. All you need to do is ask.

So yeah, that's about it. Attention-grubbing over.
Just make sure you do get to grades quickly. Don't want people to have to wait two months for, let's say, a Dragonite :P Just joking!

Also, does anyone want to hear a full summary of my next HUUUUGEEEEE story?

I'm currently writing a crime fiction where the pokemon themselves are the criminals. I was wondering if this would be looked down upon or if I can do this kind of thing. I'm really tryin g to humanise the pokemon in my stories at the moment, my last one almost ended up with a gallade political senate style thing.

And no, it's not looked down on at all to make the Pokemon the bad guys. I wrote a story once where a Pokemon was a hateful madgirl. Another story I'm writing is a detective/mystery kind of thing solely about Pokemon.

I have an idea of a group of children starting off a new journey. They don't know each other and begin their journey. If I wanted a person to have a Pokemon I dont currently have, could I write about them having one and then later in another story explain how they caught it, which would be the capture of that Pokemon mentioned?

Thats fine, your stories do not have to reflect your URPG stats.

For a Demanding story what length should I aim for? I know 40k is the recommended minimum, but realistically if I stopped at 40k the grader would nag on about "cutting it close," or "a bare pass," so what would be considered acceptable? The story is 40,125 atm and will probably be done at 42/43k...

If everything is perfect, 40k is fine. Graders say that you "cut it close" because your stories often move too quickly or conclude incompletely and barely make it over the limit. Length doesn't matter unless you don't write the "whole story." That's what you should be concerned about--not the length itself.

Right now, I'm sweeping back in time through this forum in search of good stories for Library nominations. How far back do you think I should go? SWC? 2009? As far as possible?
I grade things for the URPG.

New experimental grading system. Request a tier after I claim your story:
Tier I / Basic: A quick verdict and some useful advice without much fuss.
Tier II / Normal: More in-depth analysis.
Tier III / Heavy: I WILL TEAR YOUR STORY TO SHREDS AND TAP-DANCE ON THE PIECES

I was hoping the writers would take the initiative and nominate themselves, seeing as they're the ones getting the biggest reward out of it. If you start from now moving backwards, I'll probably start doing a little digging from when the library was introduced and move forward. I'd say go as far as you have time to, and I'll do the same.

I thought you couldn't submit something to the library from before the library was really created. Thus limiting the stories that could go in.
You had a new dream, it was more like a nightmare.
You were just a little kid, and they cut your hair,
then they stuck you in machines, you came so close to dying.
They should have listened, they thought that you were lying.

Keep at it. Don't give up. It gets better with practice. And remember you can always ask us for advice/help/whatever.

There needs to be more writing in the world.
