URPG Stories Chat and Feedback

by: EmBreon
First of all, please don't post in other people's story threads, unless the person specifically requests comments in his or her thread. If you'd like to comment on a story or have a question about the Stories section, then post it here.
And second, please give graders at least one week before you request a grade for your story in this thread, otherwise it'll get all cluttered 'n junk in here. Thanks.
Oh, and for those of you who don't already know, I'm Galleon, and I will be your Evil Story Overlord. HELLOOOO.
Re: URPG Stories Chat & Feedback
Hmm, I wasn't quite paying attention when I read the list. Pidgey is Simple, not Easiest. Oh wow, and my little story was only 4k characters. Pitiful. Embarrassing to me. I will rectify that little hiccup now that I know that I am not in anything simple.
Re: URPG Stories Chat & Feedback
I have a bug report!
I saw the example story and grade that were posted, ("Ignition") and I wanted to see what a grade was supposed to look like. Unfortunately, it looks like although the grader quoted parts of the story, those quotes have disappeared. They don't even show up when I press the "Quote" button to read the original code of the post. Is there some way to get them back? Parts of the grade don't make sense without the quotes...
Re: URPG Stories Chat & Feedback
Yeah, that's my mistake. I just realized it while posting A Far Cry From Freedom. Attempting to rectify.
EDIT: All of the quote blips are fixed. And just for formality's sake, I'm going to announce that there are now four URPG fics posted as examples, complete with grades, for the purposes of helping the BMG writers know what to expect from a grader, among other things. SO YEAH.
Re: URPG Stories Chat & Feedback
Hey guys, ids there any particular word limit for each post?. Because on my PS3, I cant type any longer on my story after a point. I know I can just keep working in a new post, but it looks terribile...
Re: URPG Stories Chat & Feedback
We don't have an official word limit in URPG; there is probably a forum word limit, though. Most writers just break up the story at a scene change or chapter end. I don't think any of the graders will be complaining that using multiple posts looks messy, unless the PS3 default formatting doesn't get organized a bit. XD De-activating your signature does help to spiff it up, though.

We would really love it if everyone used a Word program on their computer to type up stories. This way you can save it and work on it later rather than being forced to post it as soon as you finish. And it looks better.
Tip for everyone: There's no hurry to rush a story, take your time with it.

I know a word program would be better, but I dont have a computer at the moment to do it on! And I kind of want to rush through it, as my ideas come immediantly as I type

You could write it in a notebook instead. That would probably allow you to edit a little more easily before typing up the final draft.

Re: URPG Stories Chat & Feedback
Considering the general state of BMG at this point, that is, we need all the help we can get. I'm going to start actively grading again.
Also, look for me to post some stories. Maybe I can get a few people to read them and it they can serves as more examples as to the general idea.
