Zach was running. Running quickly. Running swiftly. Running from the few things he could not control. All he had was simply the clothes on his back, and the memories, of his previous life. The pounding of his heart, the crumpling of fallen leaves under his feet, the hooting of the owls, and the mighty howls of wolfs surrounded him. He had no goal, no hope, but yet he ran on, for there was nothing else he could think of doing, and with his now, lack of faith in god, nothing to believe in. There was no other way to escape the life he once loved, the life he would miss forever. The night was dark, rain drops falling softly onto the leaves covering trees of all sorts. The dew was creating a pleasant aroma. Maples, oaks, yews, mahoganies, teaks, and many more covered the forest ground. Plants were swaying caused by the subtle breeze flowing through the forest, which also caused his blond long hair to cover his blue vibrant eyes. Everything was normal, except for one thing; one certain thing, which had changed Zach's sixteen year old life.
Zach didn't know what he was going to do. The night seemed restless. He wanted to stop, he wanted to take a breather, but yet, he didn’t, because he knew that nothing good would come from that. He wished he had had more time to prepare, to say goodbye to the ones he loved, the ones he cared for, the ones he would most likely never see again. He would miss his sister most of all, simply a little girl, who was the sweetest thing in the world. He wished there was another way, but it was clear to him that this was what he needed to do. He was completely solitary. No one that he could talk to. Nothing in the world to comfort him. Night turned to day; the sun creeping over the horizon, and yet Zach was still moving, slower, but clearly still continuing on. This continued till Zach couldn’t handle it anymore. He fell down, and passed out from exhaustion, his feet completely covered with blisters.
Zach woke up, everything felt so uncanny. He turned his head; everything seemed plain, colorless and filled with potential. He tried to get up quickly, yet he moved slowly, as if his body refused to respond to his wishes. Although he hadn't eaten he wasn't hungry and although he had been running all night, his muscles didn't ache, and he felt, if anything at all exhilarated. He felt alive; he felt an emotion he had never really felt before, pure bliss. The more he examined his surroundings, the more he felt that there was much more then met his eyes. Wherever he was, was completely different then things from his home, and much less wild. Life was lacking, and the plainness went on for as far as he could see. Yet, this place was filled with energy. Energy that made him tingle in delight, energy, that made him smile. He felt warm, he felt as if, he actually belonged. If only he knew how he had gotten to where he was. He wished he could stay, lying there forever, but all good things must come to an end, and all things, must end in misery. That is simply the way things work. The way things were intended to be. Just the way life was.
