Pokemon Being Caught: Seedot
The Seedot leapt off the Market stall and onto the pavement. Small flames showered down onto him as Michael's Chimchar fired its Ember attack.
"Chimchar, take a shortcut across the block, I'll keep on chasing him!" Michael told his partner. Michael had only known Chimchar for two weeks, but already he trusted him more than anyone The Seed Pokemon had already placed a fair distance between himself and Michael but Michael kept running. He dodged between stalls and buyers, always keeping an eye on the Pokemon.
The Seedot turned down an alleyway, upending a bin at the same time. A flurry of seeds greeted Michael as he attempted to join the Pokemon. Michael tripped as a falling flower pot hit him. Pain rushed up his shoulder but he pulled himself to his feet. As the Grass Pokemon turned a corner Chimchar leaped onto him. Michael sprinted to where the battle was taking place but even as he arrived the Seedot managed to escape Chimchar's grip and run down the alleyway. Desperate Embers pursued the Pokemon but to no avail, both Trainer and Pokemon knew that the Mischievous Grass type was evading them
Michael ran down the street, the little brown speck growing ever more distant. His face was flushed, brown hair tussled and his partner nowhere to be seen. The Seed turned the corner and disappeared from view. Michael stumbled to a halt. Behind him his partner appeared and looked up at him, expectantly.
"Not this time, buddy," he told the Chimchar.
This particular Seedot had been a nuisance to the town for weeks, stealing fruit from market stalls, puncturing car tyres and leaving whole blocks without power for days. As soon as Michael had arrived at the town on his Pokemon journey he had become determined to catch the brown nuisance.
The Sun was getting low in the Sky and Michael had to head in for the night. The Pokemon Centre that he was staying in was one of the shabbiest in the town. He had managed to get a room to himself and was enjoying the apparent luxury. He lay down on top of the bunk, feet dangling off the end. Around him Chimchar swung from the ladders, the three bunks being his perfect playground. The walls were a stark white but in good condition.
Outside he heard footsteps and the door swung open. Silouetted in the doorway stood a trio, all of them younger than him with Pokemon on their shoulders. Leading them was a short girl with jet black hair falling in locks. Behind her was a snivelling boy of generous proportions, greasy black hair mostly hidden behind his cap. After them came a taller boy who had to duck through the threshold. A Ducklett swept through the room, knocking Chimchar off his perch.
"Who are you?" Michael asked, sitting up on his bunk.
"We," the girl exclaimed, " are the Tremendous Trio!"
Michael laughed, amazed at the groups naivety. A brief exchange followed. And Michael's feeling of incredulity only increased.
"I only see two Pokemon," Michael commented.
"When we started off all of us had Pokemon," The girl replied. "Then Charlie's Seedot managed to release itself,” A Pokemon releasing itself? Michael had never come across it himself. Michael explained the situation in the city, with what must have been Charlie's Seedot.
"That must be his, the wicked thing!" The girl exclaimed. “We shall set out for him at first light!"
Michael woke up, freezing. He looked out of the window. The whole block's power had been cut. A moment later the Pokemon Centre's emergency generator stirred into action. The other three stired awake and Chimchar leaped onto his shoulder. Through the window Michael could just make out a small brown figure standing on a lamppost surrounded by other, different Pokemon. He pointed to the collection and stifled another obvious assumption from the girl. Michael closed the curtains and laid out a plan.
Michael climbed out of the first floor window, Chimchar following behind. The Grass Pokemon it seemed were oblivious to him coming, intent only on their leader. The Seedot leaped up and down on the lamppost, making a speech it seemed. They crept up from an alleyway until they were within hearing distance. Michael could see about five Pokemon in the gang, all of them terrors to the city.
A cry came from above and a figure swept from above. The tall boy's Ducklett crashed into Seedot and sent him flying off the lampost. The Ducklett flew down an alleyway and the Pokemon, enraged, followed him. The plan was working perfectly. Seedot recovered and started chasing his gang, trying desperately to controll them. Then the trap was sprung. The brown Pokemon was flung into the air by the girl's Gothita's psychic and he was blocked off from the rest of the group, who continued chasing Ducklett, oblivious to their Leaders danger.
"Chimchar, use Ember!" Michael shouted.
The monkey sprang from hiding and shot tiny red flames at its brown counterpart. A battle then ensued and soon became a brawl before Chimchar leaped back. Michael threw a Poke Ball at Seedot, who was now face flat on the ground. The ball rolled once, twice and..... ping! Seedot was caught. Michael picked up the Poke Ball and hurried into the Pokemon centre.
Michael walked through the city with the Trio. He knew that he would never see them again but he had accepted the fact with calmness, anyway, he didn't think that he could stand the girl for much longer at the outskirts of the city the Tremendous Trio stood before him. Michael held out his hand, Poke Ball in it.
"Here," he said, offering the sphere to Charlie, "We got your Seedot back alright,"
Charlie smiled at him, giving the Poke Ball back to Michael.
"It's fine," he replied. " I think that this Budew that I caught will be a better partner for me." And so the Michael turned, ready to leave. The girl stopped him.
"Wait!" She cried. "Stay with us and we could become the Fabulous Four!"
Michael laughed and turned down the offer, he was fine as he was and he walked into the distance, Chimchar on one shoulder, The Mischievous Seedot resting on the other. This, he thought, was just the beginning before laughing and walking into the Sunrise
