Being in Disguise
Rainbow Canyon Chronicles – Enter Domak
On the coast of a jewel like village existed many special Pokemon with powerful abilities. These Pokemon were not like normal creatures that walked the world. However, they used their exciting powers to help the world or to cause mass destruction within it. These extraordinary monsters were known has Special Genes holders, which were much rarer than your average Pokemon. Many people sort after these legendary Pokemon.
“I want to capture one to help me win Gym Battles!” A voice shouted.
“I would like a Special Gene Pokemon to comfort me!” A female voice shouted.
“I wanna sell one for riches, and then I can take over the business world!” An old male voice shouted. These were the ambitions on the costal village of Rainbow Canyon.
This village was known as Jeweleon Village. Jeweleon was known for its special Pokemon encounters, which inhabited more tourism compared to other Canyon villages. This oceanic place was surrounded by a number of sandy, beaches. Similarly, it had a bright, blue ocean that surged waves peacefully. Tall, emerald leaved palm trees shadowed patches of the soft sand from the bright sunlight. These were also good tourist attractions because many trainers took vacation here compared to other places. As you looked across the sandy beach, many trainers relaxed and cooled off from their hard battles.
“Awesome surfing man!” A male voice shouted as he looked towards the ocean. On the surfboard was a tall person with a bright, ruby coloured surfboard. His name was Domak. He took the waves quickly and surfed to shore. Suddenly, the person grabbed a nearby blue towel and dried himself off. Domak quickly slipped on his yellow t-shirt and pulled up his oceanic shorts. He also slotted his feet inside his blue, sanded over sandals.
“Thanks dude,” Domak shouted whilst he put thumbs up. Domak had surfed for many years and was a resident of Jeweleon village. However, this surfer only lived next door to sea and did not go to main village area. This is because he was so in love with the ocean. Similarly, he knew of the Special Genes Pokemon legend and was fond of their special abilities. It was similar to his Machop because that creature had special powers.
As the nightfall came, shiny stars sparkled brightly above the cold, oceanic ocean. Domak peered from his rented cavern. This cavern was a small hut with distorted roof and overshadowed the beach from his balcony. His balcony was a brown, wooden surface, which stood metres above the sandy beach. Domak then looked at the starry sky and thought about his past few weeks at Jeweleon.
“I know that Gothita is out on this beach somewhere,” Domak whispered to himself. “My father’s prized Pokemon needs to come home.” The surfer dude wanted to return the stolen Gothita that was taken from his father one year ago. Suddenly, a warm wind, breezed loudly across his long blonde hair. A mysterious figure appeared beside him.
“You mentioned me Domak,” a mysterious voice said. This figure was shadowed by the night’s sky and had piercing red eyes. Therefore, is it alive or is a special power? Domak tilted his head and looked at the ghost like figure.
“Yes, father,” Domak, shouted with passion. “I will find Gothita for you!” He clenched his fist in anguish and then flicked his hair back with his other hand. The tall surfer dude looked into the starry sky and made a wish. He wished to find Gothita and bring it home immediately.
“As you wish,” the mysterious figure disappeared in a giant puff of smoke. The smoke then dematerialised in an instant. Suddenly, the tide of the ocean, gushed into the sandy beach and stretched towards the cavern. Loud thunderclouds lightened up the water and caused a whirlpool. The water splashed Domak, as he looked shocked.
“I have never seen the Jeweleon coast be this vicious,” he wondered and then slowly walked back into his cavern. Birds tweeted nearby on top of the palm trees, which were then sparked violently. The birds quickly fluttered out of the way into nearby grassland on the shore. Jeweleon’s coastal line led up to a large road, which travelled straight to the heart of Jeweleon. As Domak slammed shut his cavern door, the shadowy figure from before showed up in front of a nearby palm tree. Its eyes pierced fiercely and shone across the ocean like a lighthouse.
Suddenly, it disappeared again. Does this mysterious being show up at night only? As nightfall continued to fall, Domak lay in his cavern asleep dreaming… He dreamt of the mysterious being capturing his father when he was a solid being. Then, the being stole away Gothita too. Domak tossed and turned in his small room.
Thunder struck violently and awoke him. The surfer dude lifted up immediately whilst sweat cascaded down his face. He quickly dashed out of bed and placed on a dressing robe. It was a red robe, which matched his blonde hair. Domak quickly flicked the light switch, which illuminated the room. On the wall were pictures of the surfer with his dad, and Gothita. They were all smiling within the 6x4 photograph. Domak shed a tear because he and his father were so close.
“I miss the real him,” Domak whispered and then walked out of the door. The storm had stopped and what remained was a calm ocean. The mysterious shadows materialised again and crimson eyes pierced once more.
“Why do you keep feeling like this?” Domak’s father hissed. He hovered for a moment and hugged Domak. “Don’t worry everything will be back to normal soon.” His eyes sharply pierced evilly as something was not right…
Next morning, the ocean beamed brightly like a sapphire jewel. The cavern’s windows reflected the hot sun’s rays back towards the ocean. Domak flung open the door and thought about his father. He wondered why his father only appeared at night and had evil looking eyes. As he looked at the beach, many trainers inhabited the sandy beaches, which caused a lot of noise. The surfer quickly clanked his door shit and locked it.
“I remember Gothita being attacked by another Gothita,” Domak said to himself as he brushed his chin. Suddenly a cold breeze flushed across his yellow t-shirt and tilted him slightly into the direction of the beach. He treads slowly across the sandy beach and his eyes saw in front of him. This forest was Jewel Forest. A barbed wire blocked the entrance from Jeweleon’s coast.
“Of course,” Domak said. “Father went missing within this forest.” It was a shady forest, surrounded by many tall trees. Similarly, overgrown bushes suffocated the forest’s light and made the atmosphere murkier. However, barbed wire blocked the entrance meaning something deadly within Jewel Forest. Domak’s father was looking for something down in that forest with Gothita and then something happened. What happened?
“I am going into that forest tonight,” Domak said with encouragement. He quickly turned around, went back in his cavern, and awaited nightfall.
At midnight that night, the ocean turned fierce with another storm. Thunder and lightning sparked and shocked the beach’s tranquil atmosphere. Domak ran across the beach in a hurry before the tide flushed him out. The stairway towards Jewel Forest was quite high, which made the forest immune to the tide rush. Domak threw a Pokeball on to the rocky steps. A flash of red light shafted open and a small fighter appeared. It was a Machop. Machop was grey coloured Pokemon with strong muscles, which could break through many rocks, or boulders. It clenched its fists and had a frown on its face.
“Machop, use Karate Chop on this gate,” Domak whispered. Machop quickly ran up the rock steps and its grey hand started to glow. It sliced at the barbed wired door and it burst open. Domak’s blonde hair was weaved away by the cold, ocean storm. Both Domak and Machop rapidly ran into the Jewel Forest. Jewel Forest was out of bounds to the public because a deadly accident happened here a year ago. Domak’s father went missing within the forest due to a Pokemon battle.
Suddenly, Machop got anxious and headed towards the forest. It stomped the grassy ground, and through some bushes. Domak was worried and rapidly caught up with his partner. They both rustled through overgrown greenery and dashed around skyscraper like trees. Lightning struck outside the forest at the frozen sea of Jeweleon, which meant something bad was about to happen. Machop knew the way through the forest because he befriended Domak here.
“Brings back memories Machop,” Domak panted and said. Both of them dashed through more bushes and seemed to get nowhere. Domak rescued Machop when it was injured within this forest a year ago. Therefore, the fighter decided the surfer man was a hero and joined him.
Suddenly, both of them came to a standstill and saw an open area of overgrown, murky grass. It was surrounded by the darkly lit sky, which reflected a small flash of light from the stars. Within in the centre of the grass a gravestone, this had dead flowers around it. They seemed to have died along time ago after the events of the Jeweleon Forest. Machop and Domak stood 5 metres away from the murky tombstone as a scary breeze, chilled down their spines.
“Father’s gravestone,” Domak whispered to himself. “This was left here after he went missing as a memorial.” The surfer dude walked closely towards the tombstone and landed on to his knees. Unexpectedly the trees rustled violently…
“You called,” a mysterious voice said. The mystery shadow appeared with its evil crimson eyes next to Domak. Machop seemed suspicious of this being and grinded its teeth.
“Hello, father,” Domak said. “What happened here a year ago?”
“It was a stormy night when I and Gothita went into this forest. I wanted to capture all special Pokemon within this forest; however, Gothita did not allow me to do so. My own Pokemon disobeyed me because it wanted to protect the other Psychic Pokemon in this forest.” Domak’s father said in a mysterious eerie voice. Suddenly, Machop turned towards the scary being and jumped into the cold air. Its grey foot glowed brightly, and swept the mysterious being.
“Machop what is this?” Domak questioned with an angry voice. The mysterious shadow dematerialised and appeared a new figure… Machop landed to the ground and then clenched its fists. The cold wind brushed across the fighter and the new shadow.
“My real identity is revealed,” the being said. “I am Gothita. I also captured your father and his Pokemon partner.” Machop’s eyes turned a fierce red and he started to burn up quickly in anger. Gothita had a large black head with small white ears. Similarly, its body was a black and white like zebra pattern. This was no ordinary Gothita. This Psychic creature also had small black arms, which could create massive attacks.
“Why do it?” Domak shouted and grinded his teeth. “What with pretending to be my father?”
“I wanted you to not blame any Pokemon for his mistakes,” Gothita shouted. Suddenly, it shook its strange body and a psychic energy materialised around the creature. A burst of energy was then tossed across the cold air, which psyched Machop. The fighter fell backwards into the murky grass and panted for a moment.
“Machop, use Rock Tomb,” Domak shouted. “Let’s bury this loser!” The surfer like trainer pointed at Gothita and Machop hopped to its grey feet. It looked around and saw some sharp rocks on the floor. Machop quickly tossed up the rocks and threw them at Gothita. The rugged rocks shafted around the human like Pokemon and dug in fiercely.
“Pathetic…” Gothita screeched. Suddenly, its eyes turned a deadly red colour and psychic energy burst out fiercely. The rugged rocks tumbled into different directions across the murky grass due to the psychic energy produced. Machop sweated in shock and then clenched its fists. The trees and bushes around them crackled violently due to the chilly breeze. Gothita started to pant because it took a lot of psychic energy to break the rugged stones.
“Machop, use Karate Chop,” Domak shouted. Machop’s fist turned like a sword and glowed brightly. It stomped towards Gothita who panted slowly. Suddenly a burst of smoke appeared, which fogged at the fighter. It coughed for a moment and then the smog cleared. Gothita was nowhere to be seen…
“Behind you silly,” Gothita giggled. It shook its black head for a moment and shadows materialised around its mouth. These shadows were tainted, which was the dazzled towards Machop’s back. Machop fell face first into the grass in pain and shrieked loudly. Gothita giggled on the grass and then looked forward at Machop…
“Machop, are you okay?” Domak asked with a worried tone.
“Where did it go?” Gothita said to itself as it looked around. Where Machop had landed was a medium sized, brown log, which took his place. Could this be Machop’s Hidden abilities? Suddenly, above Gothita a shadow appeared with a Karate Chop attack. Machop obviously jumped from a nearby tree and swooped downwards. The Karate Chop pelted the human like Pokemon’s head. It fell to the ground in pain and then hopped back up for a moment.
“Awesome job, Machop,” Domak shouted, and cheered. “Let’s try a Cross Chop this time!” Machop linked its arms together and both its grey pointed hands turned into a heavenly light. Unexpectedly it dashed in the direction of Gothita sliced its black and white body. Gothita did a roly-poly across the foggy grass in pain from the Cross Chop attack. It looked like it was weak; however, a mysterious aura appeared around it.
“Take this Energy Ball attack!” Gothita shouted as it hopped to its feet. The Psychic Pokemon flashed a grassy wave of power in the direction of Machop. The Energy Ball attack dazzled the fighter and stunned it for a moment. Machop felt woozy and fell to the ground for a moment. Suddenly, a large puff of smoke puffed around the Fighting Pokemon. What remained was another brown log on the floor…
“Machop, use Close Combat,” Domak cheered. Machop jumped from a tree’s branch and landed behind Gothita on the murky grass. The fighter pelted repeatedly with its fists at Gothita’s back and then swept it with its rugged feet. Close Combat continued to attack the human like Pokemon and it fell to the ground. Gothita felt like giving up in pain but jumped off the ground. Unexpectedly, a shaft of electricity sparked around its body, which then was struck towards Machop.
“Take my Thunderbolt,” Gothita shouted. Machop was viciously sparked by the Thunderbolt attack and fell into the murky, grass. The trees rustled violently and Domak felt angry with Gothita imitating his father.
“Machop, use Karate Chop,” Domak shouted. Machop hopped onto its grey feet, and then its fist turned like a sword and glowed brightly. It dashed in the direction of the weakened Psychic Pokemon and sliced its head once more. Gothita fell to the ground in pain and fainted alongside the tombstone. Machop panted continuously and fainted to the ground. Domak stepped towards Machop and picked him up. The surfer trainer hugged his partner after a good battle.
“Once I capture you myself,” Domak angrily shouted. “I will learn the secrets about my father!” A Pokeball was released from his blue shorts. It was suddenly tossed across through the cold winds and then bounced off the talking Pokemon’s head. Gothita was sucked within the sphere rapidly. It landed next to the tombstone… The ball rolled…
