Art Capture Challenge Judging
Welcome everyone to the Judging of our Art Capture Challenge #2! I'm your host, Harry Kim!
We have five excellent pieces up for judging this time around and I must say that I personally find them to be masterpieces. Of course, then again, I like a lot of things I see. That's why I need your help!
As before, if you are interested in becoming an Art Curator, I would like you to look over each piece and score them based on how well they did. How you judge them will determine if you're selected or not
Our current curators Pidge, Kai-Mei, and Tsukaki will certainly be judging the pieces themselves. Additionally, they will also be the ones determining who will become a Curator.
When the time is up, I'll average the member-submitted scores into a single list. And then I'll average that score with the three given by our illustrious curators. That will determine the winner.
Speaking of scores, here's how the Judging Process is going to go:
Judging Guidelines
- Any URPG Member is allowed to judge the entries.
- You are given one week to judge. You must judge every entry. If you submitted an entry, judge every entry except your own.
- To submit your judgement, PM me with the scores. Title the PM: "Art Challenge Results".
- You can judge based on any criteria ranging from sections of cultural value to technique to theme significance to how close they followed the rules to whatever you can think of.
- All entries will be judged out of a total of 100 points. You can split how many points are allocated per each section you consider important, but the maximum is 100 points total. That means that a mediocre piece will score less than 25 points, a decent piece will score between 25 and 75 piece, and an outstanding piece will score above 75 points. I highly recommend you explain why you scored the piece as you did.
- As mentioned before, this will be a method in which the 3 Curators select permanent Art Curators to run these Challenges that will likely end up in its own forum. The more information you can provide on why you judged the piece the way you did will help me determine your qualifications and give you a better chance of being selected.
- I reserve the right to eliminate judgements that I feel are unfair, biased, or simply incomprehensible.
Special Notes
- Participants may be able to claim their $3,000 for participating after the contest is over.
- Judges will be paid $2,000 for judging. I reserve the right to not pay you if I feel your effort is not worth the payment.
- I will likely list the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place entries after I receive the scores. I might list the average scores for each participant.
I'll leave it up to our art curators to figure out which pieces violate any rules and if they should be docked points or not.
Anyway, good luck. I now present the amazing entries of our URPG Artists!
The Submissions
Theme: "Cherish the Moment"
Artist: TheEvilDookie
Entry Title: Beyond The Mountain
Description:
How often are you able to witness a couple of the most renowned legendary Pokemon that inhabit the Earth? Cherish every moment of your life; you never know what lies beyond the mountain until is reveals itself. (Depending on your monitor, you may need to look at the picture from different angles to see each color)

Entry Title: Dark Void
Description:
The Rise of Darkrai, a brilliant movie and my favourite out of all the pokemon movies, was lost in time when the sequels "Giratina and the Sky Warrior" and "Arceus and the Jewel of Life" came out. This piece represents Darkrai after the movies were released.

Entry Title: Lost in Time
Description:
We are Pikachu. Like him, we watch time pass right over us subconsiously. The events could be represented by the two Drifloon and the Drifblim. Soon, the time that the Sinnoh Pokemon was introduced to us will be gone, going to be replaced by Isshu Pokemon. Time may come that someday, the Pikachu could be one of the Drifloon or Driblim, fading into the clouds. Some of us could move on with life and forget our Pokemon/URPG life, while some would remain and continue watching time pass.

I just thought that some of the happiest times in my life that are easily forgotten are the hours spent playing video games with my friends, so this picture represents that, but with a Trainer and his Pokemon instead.
