A Word From Your Editor
Hello and Welcome to a new issue of the URPG Times, Looks like we are back up and running for all your URPG needs. Hopefully we can still provide the same interesting articles, funny comics and also those wonderful interviews. There have been some changes to the Times, as many of you know we have changed to publish once fortnight, and with that change, we have removed the Trainer of the Week and Spendthrift of the Week sections. However, we do have a brilliant substitute, which will hopefully be up by the next issue.
News and Events
Summer Gift Station
After two weeks of gifting Pokemon which have been sitting in the bottom of your stats, or gifting out of generosity or even dare I say friendship, so be sure to collect your gifts when a Mod officially closes it.
Fuchsia City, Violet City, Oreburgh City, Trovita Island are all currently open. Hurry up and head over there to snatch on of these Gyms. If you’re wondering what types they are, Fuchsia City is Poison, Violet City is Flying, Oreburgh City is Rock and finally Trovita is a special gym under the Orange League. So hurry up and head over there and apply, before they are taken.
Summer Writing Competition
For all you story loving people, there is currently a Writing Competition going on right now. You have five days to submit a story, and you could have a chance of owning a Legendary Pokemon (and a nice lump sum of $15,000) If you do not make the deadline, be sure to join the panel of judges, and choose which story is the best.
National Park Summer Palooza
Don’t fancy writing to obtain new Pokemon, and you don’t have the cash of a ref to buy them from the PokeMart, the National Park is for you. Bumblebee and Synthesis are currently holding an auction on Tuesday 16th of August, around 6-8 PM GMT+/-0. There will be an auction, quizzes and event-exclusive items. What a better way to kick start your roleplaying experience with all those interesting items. A quick note, there will be no Pokemon auctioned off, only National Park Items.
If you don't know yet, we do take in announcement requests for The URPG Times. Don't worry, for it is free of charge! If you would like to display an announcement for whatever reason, or shoutouts, just PM them to me.

Special Coverage: The No BS Summer Auction
This is special coverage on the ‘No BS’ Summer Auction that happened two weeks ago, where we witnessed some stupidity of people buying Pokemon for nearly triple the Market Value. I sat there with my jaw hanging after I had just seen Bee bid 120k on Mienfoo, which you could write 20k for it or visit the National Park. I pushed my jaw back into place and continued to watch the auction, hoping to dive in at the last minute and win, which unfortunately never happened.
So when I was going over some past issues, I had noticed Ataro’s coverage on the BMG Anniversary Auction. I thought to myself, “Why not write about the ‘No BS’ Auction, and hopefully it will show people how much money they are wasting,”
So here it is people, the list. The Market Value, MV, is made up ofminimum characters required for URPG stories (TM’s were priced at an average of 5k each). D stands for Difference between how much they are worth, and how much was paid for them.
Dragon: Horsea - MaverickKaiser for 66k, (MV: 20k) (D: 46k)
Rock: Rhyhorn - Ayotui for 24,000, (MV:20) (D: 4k)
Water: Slowpoke + 5 TMs + Lagging Tail - GliscorMan for 28,000, (MV 37k) (D: -9k)
Fighting: Mienfoo - Bumblebee for 120,000, (MV: 20k) (D: 100k)
Flying: Aerodactyl - PhantomKat for 102,000, (MV: 40k) (D:62k)
Normal: Munchlax - Roulette Dares for 61,000, (MV: 40k) (D: 21k)
Ghost: Litwick - WebMaster for 67,000, (MV: 20k) (D: 47k)
Ice: Cryogonal - Derian for 38,000, (MV: 30k) (D: 8K)
Steel: Ferroseed - Fawkes for 42,000, (MV: 20k) (D: 22k)
Fire: Vulpix + 5 TMs - ChainReaction01 for 31,000, (MV: 35k) (D: -4k)
Psychic: Abra - Alaskapigeon for 70,000, (MV: 20k) (D: 50k)
Ghost: Gastly - SLCalamity for 52,000, (MV: 20k) (D: 32k)
Electric: Rotom - Buzzer for 55,000, (MV: 40k) (D: 15k)
Grass: Cottonee + 5 TMs sold to The Pokemaster for 41,000, (MV: 35k) (D: 6k)
Ground: Drilbur - Nitro for 60,000, (MV: 30k) (D: 30k)
Dark: Zorua - JokesterJesse for 53,500, (MK: 30k) (D: 23.5k)
Bug: Scyther - TheEvilDookie for 43,500, (MK: 30k) (D: 13.5k)
From these satistics, I have created some small awards and titles for their efforts and actions during the auction. There is no cash prize, just awards, that is all.
- Spendthrift Award : @Bumblebee, for spending the most money
- Laziest Person in BMG: @Bumblebee and @Alaskapigeon, for spending a ridiculous amount of money on a Pokemon that they could of wrote for.
- Mr Saver: @GliscorMan and @ChainReaction01, for being the most conservative bidders, saving some money, 9k and 4k respectively
- Best Deal of the Auction: @Buzzer, for getting a Rotom for 55k. Personally that’s a steal.
- Happiest Person after the Auction: The URPG Banker, why? Because he earned himself 954k
Here is a recap of this months FFA’s so far, there won’t be any prizes handed out, but you can congratulate or do what ever to these people.
- 1st/12: Xali with Espeon – reffed by Buzzer, Special Rule: KO a mon for +1 in random stats and to heal to 100%. Start at 75%[SUB]
- 1st/11: Buzzer with Porygon-Z – reffed by Mubz, (who was there for the whole time), Special Rule: KO a mon and gain a random ability

Each week, besides the submissions from our employees for the Comics section of the URPG Times, we also welcome submissions from the community! Remember, I pay $1,500 for each submission usually. The amount paid might be adjusted accordingly based on your comic and permanent employees will be paid slightly higher. You don't have to be a professional as well; the only criteria is for it to be funny! PM comic submissions to me, Gmandiddy
