It looks like we're back earlier than expected!
Welcome to another issue of our whenever-it-happens URPG Times! In our spontaneous publishing dates, this issue will cover the time period of March 1st to March 10th. While it is a little depressing how we couldn't keep on schedule, let's just say we still hope that our newsletter will continue to be as interesting as possible, and be something to look forward to every time. WHY DOES THIS SOUND LIKE SOMEONE ELSE IN THE URPG!? (MWAHAHAHA)

General
If you're looking for more Pokémon Black and White news again, you've definitely found the right place. I will definitely touch on the craze that has emerged in URPG ever since the input of the new generation.
URPG's turned Black and White!
Honestly, the spotlight is on the new generation completely. The new generation has brought quite a good amount of changes to URPG. If you still have no idea of which thread you can visit to find out the new releases, you must have been living in a cave. Visit the Official Release thread to get a quick look at the changes and new features, or you can visit Recent Releases to keep yourself updated to any other changes that might have been inputted even after the new generation is released. Alternatively, you can visit the Annoucements for Pokémon B/W to get links to all of the new features or changes in the URPG. Aren't we just helpful?
Speaking of B/W Pokémon, there was a B/W Special Drawing that was held just days before B/W was officially released! In a matter of 30 hours of sign ups, we actually got 74 people! Why would I be surprised though? It's free after all! The drawing allowed 10 randomly selected people to get a chance to win a B/W exclusive Pokémon/Item, and they would be the first one to actually hold that Pokémon/Item too! Congratulations to the winners: Poke123, Monbrey, Black_Cat320, Mubz, Team Razor, Volcanflame, Sec, Bumblebee, 8-Bit, Fawkes., Brizer, Neonsands, Jack of Clovers, and Turtwig A. You guys were truly lucky people!
New Employees
If you haven't noticed yet, we also have two new approvers, who will gladly be of aid to your approval needs, in the Starter's Request, The Underground, and The Pokémart. They should prove useful in the onslaught of purchases in this new generation. Let's give a round of applause to We The Pichus... and Ketamine!

New Features
Ever since B/W was released, threads have been moving like crazy. In a matter of 4-5 days, the Dream World Center has already accumulated 88 posts! In some of the changes and new features, I would have to say I was most hyped up for the new Dream World Center and the newly renovated Underground. Because of the Dream World Abilities/Moves introduced in B/W, URPG needed to develop a way for people to buy these exclusive abilities, and there it is! As tempted as I am, to simply put in all of my Pokémon to unlock their Dream World Abilities, that would be a little too much. Oh well, at least you can put up to two Pokemon in the Center at one time!
The new Underground excites me as well. Not only is Aerodactyl now brought back (to stand alongside Spiritomb), there are also new items that you might have a chance to win! For once, it isn't that bad to get rolled a 70-100 in the Underground. In the past, you would probably dread it once you got rolled that because the items in 70-100 are mostly junk. In this transition, you get some sort of comfort. If you get rolled 70-100, then a 1-4, you would win a Nugget, which can be exchanged for $10,000! Sounds good, if you ask me. The consolation prizes aren't that bad either, with (5-34) Big Mushroom and Big Pearl being available for exchange of $5,000 and $7,500 respectively. Lastly, a small visual aspect change, we now have pictures for all the items in the Underground!
For a quick sum up of the other changes in URPG, you can now request B/W Starters, buy B/W Pokémon/Move/Item in the Pokémart, bid on either forum's Auction House, and trade items in the Trading Machine, both of latter which weren't available previously. If you're a Gym Leader and you're always looking for new ways to defend your gym better, you're in for the biggest surprise yet, you can now own up to 12 Pokémon in your gym!
In the next part, I'll provide statistics on the first B/W Pokémon to be ever obtained first. Obviously, there are multiple means in URPG that you can obtain Pokémon. However, these Pokémon are mostly obtained from the B/W Special Drawing, and the Pokemart, with perhaps one or two Pokémon from writing stories. If you want to find B/W Pokémon through the National Park, you had better get to doing it now, since the Park is moving at a rather fast pace now, with quick claiming and postings by Rangers all around. Stories are moving a little slow due to the backlog from the recent Writing Competition, but I'm sure it will ease up eventually. Or alternatively, you can find a Grader-friend that will give you a priority grade.![]()

Due to B/W, several moves have became TMs or even Level-Up, which means you can get refunds! Visit the Daycare Refunds to get the appropriate refunds that you're entitled to. As if that wasn't enough, your Daycare Moves are no longer limited! Yes, that's right! You no longer have to wreck your brains out just to think of the 5 Daycare Moves that you want on your Pokémon. Heck, you can even buy all of the possible Daycare Moves your Pokémon can learn. That is, if you're rich of course.
To end off this section, we have a special poll for you! You would have saw it the moment you enter the thread anyway. We want to know your opinions. What battle rule do you use the most? I am going to allow you to make multiple selections, but please make your choices according to your own preferences.
Featured Gym Leader: Pidge
Pidge is the gym leader of the acclaimed 4trees, or better known as Fortree Gym. He is also one of the only few gym leader, to maintain an undefeated record.
Interview
Why did you choose the Fortree Gym?
I never really wanted a gym because I don't really have a favorite type or something like that. However, after years of URPG I finally decided I would give one a try just because, and I saw Fortree was open one day after JoM left it I believe. Flying Pokemon are pretty diverse and I don't like the feeling of being cornered in a battle, so using one of the most diverse types would make sure that wouldn't happen.
What are your favorite parts of being a Gym Leader?
My favorite part is being able to beat people by adapting against whatever they throw at me. I like coming up with plans as if I was facing every Pokemon in their stats instead of only 6. And during the actual battle, I like thinking two steps ahead of my opponent so I'm always in control.
What is your favorite Gym Pokemon and why?
My favorite gym Pokemon is Togekiss. It's so useful in so many different situations. It's perfectly capable of beating an entire team by itself if I play correctly with it.
What is your Battle Record as of yet?
21/0/0
Is there any specific way to defend a Flying-type Gym?
There is not one specific way to do it, but I do think I understand the effective way to do it. You have to be familiar with what to do against certain matchups, while choosing your moves carefully, and to remember to think of the battle a long-term way instead of just the turn you currently are on.
One last question. Were there any specific battle that were more memorable/special?
I think my battle against Ketamine was pretty fun. I got to use my favorite item: Mail. And not just as an item to put on a Pokemon to finish something off.
Thanks Pidge!

We had an overwhelming battle count of 1411 (including all types of battles and FFAs, except OHKOs). It could probably due to the new generation that people buy many new basic Pokémon and battle to evolve them.
Out of the many trainers, two emerged as the ones with the highest count of battles. They are Bumblebee with 79 Battles, and TrainerTouya/Noble One/Kaiser Hoshikawa (God knows how many names he has) with 70 Battles! Congrats, you two! You're the proud new owners of $1,500 URPG dollars! Congrats! Just reply to this thread to collect your prize!
Roleplayer Of The Week
Recommendations By WinterVines & Buzzer
Buzzer has good posts all around. One of the best parts is that he involves plot in his posts, making the runs more interesting and more like an interactive story than just a series of battles. His characters are also entertaining, like River Tam, the Xatu. He also references stuff that happens outside of the Park in the URPG. Overall the quality is really good, and he is sarcastic and humorous enough to make you laugh. The Rangers have also been doing a fun thing of referencing each other in their posts, connecting everyone's story together somewhat, that the Boss seems to like.
Ataro recently became a ranger and in the maelstrom of new rangers he managed to find a traner to take through the park on his first outing. He has proven himself to be a very good ranger with an interesting look on the nature of park Pokémon and how they act within the park. He has also shown a good command of various attacks from the wild Pokémon and unique effects.
Ataro has also been roleplaying from the trainer's side and once more showed great skill in adapting the standard battle style to make it more fun to read adding in great description of his Pokémon and their attacks.
I swear I didn't bribe Buzzer.
Well, it looks like our RPer Of The Week are Buzzer and Ataro! Oh wait, that's me!You get to collect $1,500! Congrats! Just reply to this thread to collect your prize!
