Thread: URPG General Chat/Questions/Suggestions

It finally happened. My old, broken down computer has finally died off. And, due to the fact that my new computer can't type about half the keys on the keyboard, I'll be relatively inactive from now to mid/late February. I can still run the WWC and all, but getting on to AIM from mobile will be difficult. Just thought I should post this so people don't think I'm dead or something.

This is the URPG, the only people not dead are non-staff.

I had a quick question about shinies. Is there a chance that my starter (Slowpoke) is a shiny? And what's the probability that a pokemon I catch through a story or the National Park is a shiny?

Shininess, or rather any variation in colour of a Pokemon, is completely up to you as it doesn't affect battles. I once had an Ambipom with blue tail-hands :P

Yay! I hope to eventually evolve Tanoshi (my Slowpoke) into a Slowking, and I love the shiny 'king's coloring ^_^

...how come your old, broken-down computer has a better keyboard than the new one ?.?

I believe the top row, Q-P, was dead-on-arrival.

hi there guys. I was trying to find an alternative to AIM for finding battles and saw that the URPG had an irc channel. Well I tried to connect with Mibbit and was told that it could not connect to the server. Is there a new server, or did you all stop using it? If so then you probably will want to update the Getting Started thread so it doesn't link to Our IRC Channel

The link to the irc primer thread is also broken on that page.

Also is there like a group or something on AIM I can join to find people wanting to battle?

The IRC isn't used much at all beyond pre-announced auctions. You'd be much better off using AIM, which is where mostly everyone is, and yeah there's a blast chat. Ask a moderator, and they'll add you in.

We do URPG battles, if that's what you're looking for.

Other than that, not everyone keeps up with the DS games and current wifi trends, but there might be a few people willing to have a friendly battle. Personally, I don't have anything over 60, though. And I'm not sure if many people have more than that.

Thanks. I've been reading through all the various stickies for the last day or so and I haven't seen any mention of a blast chat outside of the thread addressing keeping it PG-13, did I just overlook it? I also haven't used AIM in years so I've got no idea what a blast chat is.

Yes, finding my way to the place where people are organizing URPG fights is what I'm looking for. Plus I gave up on DS wifi battles ages ago, got sick of having my ass handed to me by korean kids, and didn't feel like hacking my game to keep track of EVs and IVs. (if they're the most important stats then why in the name of Jobs are they hidden from view?)

Because GameFreak doesn't love us. They also want us to spend a billion years breeding for a strong Pokemon.
