Thread: URPG General Chat/Questions/Suggestions

Again with the sharing or pornography NO ONE until monbrey and now yourself WTP has brought that into the discussion of course im not going to go around randomly shouting obscenities or distributing indecent material to underage children in the street, what i do want to be able to do is to have a Mature and adult discussion, via the internet with people of roughly the same age level and intelligence without worrying about if its morally right to do so without stealing some poor childs innocence, frankly that isnt my concern it is the concern of the parents. Again it is a PARENTS OR GUARDIANS RESPONSIBILITY Frankly if your dumb enough to shit out a child and not keep it supervised then its probably fucked to begin with. now please anyone who wishes to respond do not compare this to distributing pornographic images, wtf do you think i am some kind of child abuser i have no wish or intent to do such thing and frankly the fact that two of you have now suggested that i may wish to do that instead of what my argument is about which is a right to say what i want without feeling like oh no thats bad has strongly offended me .

I honestly could care less about what you guys talk about since most of it is stupid shit anyways, but the problem I have with you saying 'it's the parents/guardians responsibility' is that this is a Pokemon forum which is more kids based. A parent hears Pokemon and will think its safe for their kids, because, well, it should be. Most parents are busy working and can't always monitor what happens on the computer of the child. However, the parent more than likely has up blocks and restrictions so that the child can't access porn/other stuff they wish to block.

Most parents won't block AIM/other IM websites since the kid will use that to talk to their friends (although that's what cellphones are for/social websites like Facebook). AIM, as we know, is basically where everything happens in URPG. If a parent were to see that you (or anyone else) is talking about sexual or non PG things then they might end up uninstalling aim and blocking the forum, making our already small community even smaller.

If you want to talk about your sexual fantasies, just do it in a private IM or make a separate chat that isn't associated with URPG. Why are you guys debating on this, it's not really a hard thing to do.

My simple point was that the URPG is in constant need of newbies, and if our occasional coarseness is keeping them away we need to change. Simple as that.

Guys, can I just say, this is why we don't have any fucking newbies.

When we turn every simple thing into a huge argument with block paragraphs it's intimidating. Especially when they all mention handing out porn to children. I'm not actually in charge of anything I don't think, but I'm just going to sum this up so we can all get on with our lives.

A) I don't think saying "R" or PG-13 makes any sense, because those ratings differ between countries and what they encompass is very different, so I'm going to ignore them.

B) No one is going to flip out if they hear the word 'sex'. Even if it's, "Guys, I had sex with my girlfriend last night." Just don't go into an explicit discussion of everything that happened. We're not licensed to teach sex-ed outside of Eastern Europe.

C) Just... don't be stupid. I don't know why you guys are trying to take extremist sides. Ash, I agree it'd be nice if we had a PG-13 chat, but how many of our members are under 13 to begin with? And how many people would really pay attention? On the other hand, there shouldn't be EXPLICIT sexual material in any of our chats because This is a Pokemon website. Swear, make dirty jokes, whatever. Just don't link pornography or go into super detailed sexual descriptions. If you're bothered by stuff going on, just !off the chat. Make your own if you want to, but don't expect URPG Staff to police it for you.

D) DO YOU REALIZE YOU'VE TURNED ME AND MONBREY (and maybe some other people, I skimmed) INTO YOUR VOICES OF REASON? DEAR NEPTUNE.
