If you are battling on an IM, the best way to do it is to create a buddy chat. The chat should have both your opponent and the ref present in order to battle.

While adding refs and rivals to your buddy list isn't necessary, it's a good idea. After all, then you will see when they're on and be better able to challenge them another time.

I apologize. I'm not familiar with the effects of those two items. Perhaps my colleagues can answer this question.

They both double the amount of money earned from a battle......we do earn money from battling other trainers, right? I'm new to this.

Indeed. Battling is the simplest way to earn money. You earn $1,000 if you win a battle and $500 if you lose.

So would it be possible to include them? The exact specifications for it to work is that the pokemon holding it must participate in the battle. I g2g right now but I will be on later.

Sorry, but the amount that can be earned from battling has been brought up time and time again. As it stands now, everyone earns plenty.
Those two items won't be making an appearance anytime soon, if ever.

Also, if you are looking to get heavily involved in the URPG, at least battling wise; I highly suggest you choose a starter you can't buy in the Mart.
In general they are stronger and harder to obtain.
That said, it's not a requirement, go with who you like.

So, if I request a Starter Pokemon, can it be a different color (aside from its regular/shiny coloration)?

Yah you can make the sprite/picture any color you want. Actually having a picture with each pokemon is optional so you can do whatever you want with it. If you look at mine (click on my banner) I've got banner-like pictures for each pokemon.

Even if I’m not necessarily active enough to jump straight in, I’m pretty stoked in taking the first step and choosing my starter. I’ve been Roleplaying for years now, most of it done over at Fizzy Bubbles where I’m an Updater and Referee, although I usually spend time over there adventuring. It’ll be fun trying out this one, it’s been a while since I’ve followed the standard self-updating style RP XD Nice to meet you all anyways, here’s hoping I can meet some formidable rivals and makes some friends along the way!

How about "the longest continually running Pokemon rpg"?

It's still running :\ "one of..." might make sense. 1999 is an awesome feat though, are you the original creator?
