I feel like i'm about to ask a lot of questions in this thread. Sorry, new to the whole URPG thing. When evolving pokemon that require happiness, does the number of battles have to include the soothe bell? For example, can a buneary who has fought 6 battles, have the trainer then put on the soothe bell, and fights the 7th battle, would it evolve?

URPG Trainer Stats
Can someone explain how exactly the type for Hidden Power is determined? Is it trainers choice or does the staff determine it.
Say you are currently waiting on a response from a forum battle. While waiting, you manage to get another battle completed and your Pokemon evolves at the end of said battle.
Would your previous battle still use your pre-evolved Pokemon, or would you simply not be allowed to battle anyone until your previous battle is completed?
If my Pokémon has gotten the required 5/7 battles to evolve, can I keep it from evolving right away and let it evolve in a story as a plot element?

You don't even have to use your URPG Pokemon in the stories, nor do the stories have to have you as the main character.
Case in point.
That's a story I wrote. I am not the main character, nor do I own any of the Pokemon that the main character uses (or I didn't at the time). You can literally write ANYTHING in a URPG story, as long as it's somehow Pokemon related.
So to answer your question, evolving the Pokemon in your stats has no effect on any story you write. On the same note, evolving a Pokemon in a story has no effect on that Pokemon in your stats. You can wait to evolve it until you write it in a story, I suppose, but there's no real point to that.

Ok, so say we picked a starter but have had a change in mind, is it a possibility to change it?
Yeah, but that's all they're for. Capturing is done through stories, while evolving is done through battles. You can't evolve a Pokemon in a story and have that affect your stats.
You CAN however, capture an evolved Pokemon in a story. For example, I once caught a Quilava through a story. That Quilava goes into my stats as a Quilava; I don't have to re-evolve it. After capturing the Quilava, I could put it in a story and have it evolve, but it wouldn't evolve in my stats. It can only evolve in my stats through having the necessary number of battles.
Also, @ SharpGuy: The only way to get a new starter is to completely restart. You lose all your Pokemon, all your money, everything. If you've just started, that's probably not too big a deal, but it is the only way to get a different starter.
