And one time I woke up with a spider in my bed. It was like the worst night of my life. My parents thought someone broke into the house because I screamed so loud.

All scorpions are but there aren't deadly ones in Az. The venom can effect you still, though it didn't affect me luckily and I got to skip school

Huh, I thought all scorpions were deadly venomous. Like how all poisonous snakes are also deadly.

The day I woke up with a cockroach - a big one - in my room, I screamed and cried until the moment it was gotten rid of. -_-;

Not all venomous snakes are deadly. Most of them don't attack humans unless provoked either, as they prefer to save the poison for hunting prey.

Well if enough of the poison is in your body then yes it would kill. But very few snakes emit enough poison to kill. And I lost my train of thought right here...

On the topic of spiders/scorpions and such, I absolutely hate them. I am glad that I'm living in the north. The spiders here are thankfully small and harmless.

I can handle most spiders but oh my god scorpions are just the worst. The only bad experience I had with a spider was a brown recluse that bit my stomach when I was sleeping. I woke up with these small bites that got huge and so much worse all week and no amount of anti-itch cream helped them. then I found the sucker climbing on my ceiling so I SMASHED HIM WITH A HAMMER actually just a shoe

If you find a tarantula though you definitely keep it as a pet. They make awesome pets until your cat eats them. Also congrats on Grad School, and we miss you here too.

I do enjoy it! It's very lovely weather most of the time here in the valley. :) I have mercifully never been stung by a scorpion but I remember one time I was looking through a box for my computer speakers and there was a scorpion sitting there and so I abandoned my search for my speakers.

I don't know about tarantulas though haha. I guess I'll see how I respond if/when I see one in the wild for the first time.

@Hitomi; you've been stung by a brown recluse and you're afraid of scorpions? O_O

My house was full of scorpions, all you got to do is smash them with something, or like my friends and I dd one time, catch them. By the way did you go to the hospital for that brown recluse bite, because if not then I don't think it was a recluse. Recluse are deadly, and you have to be hospitalized for their bites.

I once saw a story on tv about this family who lived in a house full of them, dad for bi two different times, went to hospital both times.

We haven't seen any scorpions in our house, but they do love hanging out in our storm cellar....

As for Brown Recluses...... For some reason, they love to get in the shower the same time when I take a shower..... Hasn't happened lately, but still.......

Guys whatever you do do NOT I repeat do NOT Google images of Brown Reculse bite wounds! (Unless you have seen one before.) I did it and I came to regret it... big time. @Doctor jokool; how do you even go near these things? O.O

I know the feeling...

There's a candy store near where I live that sells scorpion lollipops.

I mean, there are ACTUAL scorpions with the stinger removed in the lollipop. It's gross and makes me shiver every time I see it.

I don't try to get near them, they come near me....... They like to hide in our shower curtain, and when I get in....... Sometimes...... One comes out at me.....
