So basically, a bunch of us were discussing the current Waiting List, and how Large games seem to dominate it most of the time. It then turned to a "What if there was a Medium class?", as that would then (hopefully) split the Waiting List more evenly.
The suggestion was that Small Games would consist of up to 13 players, Medium would consist of 14-19 (or 18/20 could also be the cutoff point), and everything above would be Large. Since most games are around the late teens/early twenties mark, this would tidy up the list a bit by categorising games more appropriately. The reasoning was that sometimes, someone with a 16-man game could be waiting for months for games ahead of it to finish with 20-30 players. A Medium class would allow games to wait against other games of their own lengths, which overall, I see as being much more fair.
The cap for number of games at a time would still be 7: 3 Large, 2 Medium and 2 Small. Places would only be considered 'priority' spots, and so if (for example) there were no Medium games in the Waiting List, any spare Medium slots could be taken up by a Large or Small game. If a Medium game then joined the Waiting List, then it would take the next available space, regardless of which game finished, and normality would just continue.
Opinions on this? We can't fully determine how much of a difference it would make to the current Waiting List just yet, seeing as we don't know how many players each game has, but if any waiting Large hosts could say how many players their game will have, that would help a lot :)
I said this in the skype chat, but I'll repeat it here. I think there should be a medium category. I have a game on the large list and it only has 15 spots.
