The reason you can't talk about that is because Nintendo hates roms. Look what happened to PPN. They were shut down because they allegdly distributed roms. Bulba doesn't want to take any legal risks.

Actually, come to think about it, I'm not sure they want you talking about how to hack their games either - they'd rather you play it with their standard interface, and be restrained by all those limitations.

They hate it when you sell classic games on Ebay too, even if you're just a collector trying to cash in on your investment. The scary part is that they claim that they made the system menu for the Wii from scratch, when it's actually a port of Linux with a modified GUI. They also claim that they developed the Wii's processor themselves, but that's just a high-end PowerPC chip.

I understand their motives (make a huge profit), but I don't understand their methods (kill all potential competition before it becomes a "problem"), but the again, that's another topic that I should probably throw in the blog.

Anyway, I'll accept it as a general rule as long as there is somewhere to discus it, like a special password protected or no-guests forum, that is out of the way of Nintendo's peering eyes.

I also believe that the Virtual Console uses emulators modified to work with the Wii instead of the PC. Or is this just a rumor?

It's true, in fact the N64 VC emulator is an unauthorized port of Project 64 with an optimized GFX plugin.

Anyway, all I can say right now is that if Nintendo ever wants to get rid of us, we're not as helpless as it seems. I've defended a few other forums from Nintendo before, and they've never bothered to take those out again. The law would be on our side no matter what happens.

Doesn't that mean Nintendo themselves is being illegal for making an unauthorized port of software that ísn't always illegal? (Like when you have the actual game and console you are emulating.)

Saturn Yoshi is trying to infract me for something that isnt a rule. I posted my Fanfiction in my clog and the writers workshop and he says that he doesnt think its nessasary. Is this worth infracting. After all it isnt a rule.
