To add to that, Nintendo would drop the scythe on these forums if we were going around promoting illegal ways to play their games.

Well that's just what I was told and I don't really care about the law on ROM's.

(I wasn't saying we SHOULD talk about ROM's)

We do care about the law, however, and to the best extent that we can follow it, we will.

I meant to put I don't care about the Law on ROM's so I never went and looked it up.

That's another common misconception. Technically, they have no legal ground to drop the scythe if we're simply discussing them, otherwise, all the emulation and ROM hacking boards would've gotten shut down a long time ago. Promoting them is similarly all right. Linking is slightly more iffy, but generally speaking, it's okay. Now hosting, that's a whole other story. That'll get the scythe - not from Nintendo though, but rather, from the host.

Of course, the corrupt morally people would throw a hissy fit, so I suppose the rule stays regardless.

System Error, we like to err on the side of minimum liability.

Leeny, if multiple socks are being used, possibly. It would be case by case.

Right, expired points are expired.

Does this mean that the points I recieved from posting "SPAM" will go down from 5 to 3 seeing as it is a minor infraction now?

No, points do not automatically adjust. Sorry, system quirk.

Since we aren't supposed to talk about VAs, how many infractions is that? Or just a warning is given?
