I wasn't arguing with anyone. I was simply stating that I think this entire process was personal and not totally based on qualifications like it should have been.

Since you say it's over though, I guess it is over.

Insofar as I'm very weary of discussing how we came to the conclusion, we filled areas of need with people we thought were qualified and could work well with our team, among other things. Don't take that to be comprehensive, but it seems pretty intuitive that we'd select on that, and that's basically what we evaluated, along with, as I said, a few other things.
