Thread: Zorua/Zorark English name.

    Default Zorua/Zorark English name.

What do you think there English names will be? Will they stick with the same names as Japanese like Arcues, Shaymin etc. or will they have new English names like most other Pokemon, if so, I'd better not get too used to calling them these names.

We already have enough Zoroark threads. And there is nothing to go on to predict names.

They'll probably stay with the same name. If not, it'll be slightly different, like how Rukario became Lucario.

Well ideally it'd have to begin with a Z, otherwise they'd have to change the name of the anime as well. Although they did chance the name of Movie 12 I suppose.

If it isn't changed, the name wouldn't be any stranger than some other names that were unchanged. I don't foresee any spelling mishap unless they want to stress the "zorro" part of it's name. Hopefully, they realize that is the intention. If they change the name, I'll just have to get used to it. They will always be little and big Z to me.

Um it's a dark type illusionary fox, what the hell could possibly be more needed to predict it's English name?

Aside from the fact that I would like it to remain a "Z" if it doesn't maybe Illumox or something like that

Actually, Lucario was always Lucario, even in Japan: "Rukario" is a direct transliteration from the kana that some people insisted on using for some reason, but as far as I know "Lucario" was always the official Romanization of the name.

And I think the same thing will happen with Zorua and Zoroark. The elements of the name are as obscure here as in Japan, and there's an apparent trend of most if not all movie Pokémon retaining the same name in Japanese and English.

Well, that change took place because the L and R are the same in Japanese, so you can interchange them.

I got a pretty accurate prediction with Torterra. You just make some lame contraction of two words that describe the Pokemon.

Zolua and Zoloark were my guess until I realised 'Zorro' reference. So Zorua and Zoroark will probably say.
