Thread: Your first shiny. How? when? where?

ignoring Gyarados,
a geodude in dark cave, I was nulocking and has no pokeballs I was very sad.

A spinda on route 113 was nulocking, had pokeballs, got it, I was all like AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I was eight, playing Pokemon Gold. On my way to the Lake of Rage to confront the Red Gyarados, I encountered a shiny Girafarig.

Being eight, my mindset was "kill them all". And so, it fell the same way every other wild Pokemon did: FERALIGATR used BITE.

I had never encountered any shinies before the Red Gyarados.

I did find shiny Drowzee and Magikarp some time afterward though. ...they fainted. DX

never found one.... T_T

First encountered: Poochyena in Sapphire (beginning of the game; the first "battle")

First captured: Goldeen, in HeartGold... Route 24 I believe.

My sister was playing White, she randomly came across a Shiny Watchog on that route around Iccirus City I think, I caught it with an Ultra Ball, and I named it Shiny.
Not the most interesting capture ever, although me and my sis were like 'OMFG!' several times.

Not counting Gyarados mine was a butterfree in Viridian Forest in Gold.

I have no luck, only the shiny Gyarados. I am jealous of anyone with any shiny, since I accidentally killed it....

I'm pretty sure you can go back and catch it in soul silver! If not I could gladly trade you mine if you have an elekid?

My first and only wild shiny was the Kingler I found in Leaf Green. The only shiny I've ever owned afterwards was the red Gyarados.

I've never played any of the G2 games. I actually got into pokemon a year ago and can only play games G4 to G5 since i don't have a gameboy.

I've never played any of the G2 games. I actually got into pokemon a year ago and can only play games G4 to G5 since i don't have a gameboy.

Pick up Heart Gold or Soul Silver if you get the chance. You won't regret it.

My first was the Red Gyarados.
The only other Shiny that I really remember encountering / catching was an Unown, which was nice because Unown was one of my favourite Pokémon. Only problem was that it was Generation II where you could hardly tell the colour difference anyway (both were black... the only difference was the outline)... not to mention that I lost the save file due to the fact that the internal battery died because of the clock.
Other than that, I vaguely recall a Shiny Shuckle, although I probably just saw it on the anime and am getting mixed up. And I may (or may not) have run into one or two other Shinies in Generation II, but none that I cared about. I always wanted a Shiny Onix or Steelix, because they're made of gold, lol
Anyway, then in Ruby I got the Pokérus really early in the game. Which was awesome. And then I did something really stupid... I let someone borrow the game and said he could start a new save file, and so I lost the Pokérus. And to make things worse, the kid never gave the game back to me (he kept saying he didn't have it... so either he stole it from me or he lost it... either way I never got it back)
Strangely enough, I have never seen a Shiny at all in any game after Generation II. And supposedly the show up on like an average of 40 hours of play... something like that? I've been playing for much longer than that, yet no encounters

First was red Gyrados.
Second was a random Bidoof on Route 201 0_o
