Default Wild Starters in Our Future?

I figured this was the best place for it and didn't see anything similar so...

Do you think at least past starters may eventually be available in the wild but are just really rare?

Ex:only like one percent chance and only at on place maybe even more specific like

Bulbasaur available on route whatever but only on wednesdays between the hours of 8am and 12pm (ok maybe time is too specific but you get the point)

I know that the kanto starters were available via dream world (japan) somehow so it seems like we may be heading in the direction of wild starters as well as torchic (i think) available via pokewalker course in japan

What are you guys' thoughts on the matter

Please Help Hatch My Team :) I do my best to repay the favor but im sorry if i miss you

They've got to come from somewhere, so I think it's pretty viable to me - even if it's incredibly difficult to find them.

You know, the elemental monkeys are rare, where you usually can get them as gift Pokemon. However, the game provides the opportunity to do this, where a shaking patch of grass might have one hiding in it. So, in a way, I guess the developers might have given some thought about this? I believe that if they were to make wild starters, then it has to be:

    - Post game
    - Where they don't have any incentive to make them Gift Pokemon.

    Thanks for reading.

At this point, its been 5 generations, I just don't see it happening. It SHOULD, because when you think about it the startes have to come from somewhere, but its one of those traditions thats been around too long. I can't see developers changing it. They Should, but they won't.

I definitely think it would be cool to come across a foreign region where starters were super common and Pokemon like Pidgey or Shinx are super rare. That would be interesting, maybe not for a main game, but for a spinoff or an alternate area in a main game. Eevee and Porygon were available in the wild for the first time in Gen IV, so it doesn't seem too unreasonable that Bulbasaur or Totodile would be available in their natural habitat.

i don't really ever see them making them wild. Even that one Pokewalker Torchic, while wild in "Hoenn" (route), wasn't released outside of Japan if memory serves, so if they do make the starters wild, i doubt anyone outside Japan would be able to get them (if they require some sort of event to activate this feature).

It would be cool if the starter pokemon where wild but i think you should get them via trades in the game.

well if you look at it logically. Professor Oak caught the "starters" so in some part of the world they have to be wild and from what we know they are rare. Is 5th gen the region we will see any of these starters? Maybe, maybe not. will we ever reach a region like that? Again, maybe, maybe not. It is known that there are wild starter pokemon somewhere in the pokemon universe though. that is not questionable.

If this happens, it would be a nintendo event or something similar

But I loved your idea, wild starters should appear in future generations, even if they're rare.

The starters weren't wild in Yellow. They were gift Pokèmon at certain points in the game.

I doubt we'll ever see truly wild starters. I always imagined they came from an isolated island where they were bred for Pokèmon professors.

Well, they are wild. If they're not now, they were at one point obviously. They didn't just magically appear in the profesors' laps.
