Thread: What move(s) do you always have on your teams?

In every main Pokemon game I've played, my party members have always known the move Thunderbolt and Ice Beam. I love these two moves so I use them throughout every game I play. What about you?

Surf and Fly. Not because of the HM part of it, (but that is a big part) but because they are good moves. If I have a Grass Pokemon capable of learning Giga Drain, I always have that. Such a good move. Leech Seed is another I always try to have.

Earthquake. it's an awesome sweeper.

In-game, obviously Surf and Fly. Flygon's on almost all of my teams too, so Earthquake and Outrage usually.

Up until Gen IV, I always had a pokemon With Horn attack in my party.

Usually on a Nidorino.


For some reason, ever since I was a kid, I thought it was one of the best moves.


Now? It's Thunder Wave. Making catching legendaries that much easier. (although I suppose I SHOULD be using Spore, but whatevs)

Surf, fly, strength for hm purposes and because they are good moves. I use the earthquake tm always too.

Surf, I literally teach any pokemon that can learn Surf in my team it. I have a Dragonite that knows Surf!

Like most people said, Surf and Earthquake. I've also taken to liking always having someone who knows HP ground (for steel types), and Toxic.

Earthquake, Surf, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt.

I always have at least one variation of the move Swift (Aerial Ace, Shock Wave, etc) as well. Psychic is a pretty common one too, but I don't always carry it.

Fly, Surf, X-Scissor and Ice Beam. I try to keep my teams diverse, but the first 2 are essential for getting around, and the last 2 are very useful.

That's about it, but I've had Close Combat for my gen 4 games.
