Hydro Pump and Flame Wheel from gen V. In gen IV they were highly superior. Gen V dissapointed me in the majority of battle animations and sound effects u_u.

You should do, because an attack called Jumping Knee Kick won't result in a foot anytime soon.

Bubble in Gen. 4, it took too long. Bubblebeam was cool though.

I really like the new Solarbeam. : ) It seems so much more intense, especially in Battle Revolution. Good on them for steering away from the Anime a bit.

But I think Hydro Pump should've stayed as geysers pumping out of the ground. I thought that was awesome and so much more different from Water Gun.

Water Gun, ofcourse in Gen 3 was a pity. Really. Even Bubble looked strong than it. xD Flamethrower in Gen 4 seemed lacking after Gen 3's Flamethrower. However, the presentation was better, it was wierd that the Flamethrower in Gen 3 sort of wobbled. I guess the impact was strong in Gen 3, so a combination would've worked.

Water Spout. I don't know, I thought it would be more then shooting water up and then it falling down? Its a fine animation, I guess I was just expecting something... more from it.

Frost Breath. The animation starts off well but then it becomes too long and awkward.

This was also the case with Iron Tail in GenIV. It looks very nice in GenV though, no complaints there.

I dislike Dragon Pulse in GenIV as well. It just looks a bit weak compared to GenV.

Gen 3's brick break animation for breaking a barrier move. (You know what 2 moves I'm talking about.)

Fly in basically any of the main games. Seeing the 'mon become a sphere that crashes down. Meh, not that great.

Also, Sky Drop. Very anticlimatic for a great sounding move: a sphere picks up the opponent, then the opponent suddenly reappers as it "lands," then the sphere crashes down on it...

    Finally, Gen V's Return...

Yeah, Fly just looks awkward for the avian types but horrible with Golurk. I mean, shouldn't my Riser soar upwards on awesome rockets and look so cool that the DS craps itself in jealousy? Or am I biased here? (I'm probably just slightly biased....)

And Strength sucks as well. Why did my Electivire suddenly mass shift before the "attack"? That just doesn't look right.

Night Daze is pretty disappointing. In the anime, it was like a nuclear blast of crimson-colored dark energy exploding everywhere! Then in the games, it just looks like tiny little purple viabrations that caused some damage.

Hmm, no one likes GenIV attacks. I thought Solarbeam and Flamethrower looked awesome, there. But to answer the question:

Gen III Water Gun disappoints me. It shoots three drops of water at you; how is that a gun? I also didn't like its portrayal of Fire Blast. The Kanji just doesn't look right to me. Compared to others, it looks too small.

Upon viewing older games like Stadium and the gen 3 games, I'm actually dissapointed with how certain beam moves look in gen 4, especially in PBR; particularly Ice Beam, Psybeam Hyper Beam, and Solar Beam.
In Stadium these moves looked very similar to how they look in the anime; like a literal beam being fired from the Pokemon's body. But then in gen 4, you start charging a Solar Beam attack...and it comes down from the sky. And judging by the XY trailer, it looks like this is staying.
Ice Beam also looks better in Stadium since it mirrors the anime animation in which it looks like a ball forming in the mouth and smaller beams being fired at the opponent. In PBR it's a thin beam of ice with snowflakes around it. Not really bad, but I prefer the other one. Hyper Beam is really similar to this one in animation changes.
Psybeam looked awsome in which, like the others, it was more anime like and was a large colorful beam. If I recall correctly since my memory is off, in PBR it's a swirly looking combination of 2 beams rather than one large blast.
As for the handhelds, I also find Water Gun's gen 3 animation really lacking. Bubble looked stronger than it. Gen 4 and 5's Ember animation was also pretty lame. It was just a little flame appearing on your opponent, instead on little flames shooting at it.

Psychic in Gen III. The animation itself is okay, but even today I can't tell what's different from confusion...

I actually think they're all good now in gen 5.
