Surprisingly though, I lost to her during the initial battle right after getting the starters. She got a critical hit on what would have been the second to last move of the battle. After that though, she hasn't even taken down a single Pokemon on my team.
Team Rocket - We're back in business.
Actually, I never left.
I haven't played BW yet but I have seen it on YouTube. Bianca and Cheren in my opinion may be the coolest rivals yet! I like it how you now have a rival with the starter weak to yours (I mean Bianca, though. Cheren chooses the starter yours is weak too like other male rivals).
I felt as though Bianca was a Stalker/Younger Sister character in my mind.
As for Cheren, I think he's got a lot of potential in terms of character. If there happens to be a third version what they could do with him is similar to the Emerald Plotline in a way. Cheren becomes champion while Alder goes off to train harder to become a better trainer overall. It really could go so many ways as he's such a strong character.
Done by the amazing Blazaking! ^^
Cheren has surpassed Gary Motherfucking Oak. He appears whenever I don't want him to >_>
I loved the development of the characters in these two. GF is definitely improving rival development. I'm really in different on Cheren, I don't like him, but I don't dislike him, he's just there lol I love Bianca though; hot, funny, introspective, etc. However, both seemed like archetypes I've witnessed before in other games/anime/manga; hot ditzy girl & know-it-all boy with glasses that strives to be stronger blindly.
I just wish both of em proved better opponents in battle. They both failed hard using only four pokes basically the whole game, & bad ones at that. What they lacked in battle skills, they made up for in character development, which is a nice change of pace. Just hope GF improves next gen; great character development & hard opponents.
Also, 2 rivals instead of one is win.
claims: Surfing Pikachu, Color Change, Pidgeotto, Johanna (<3)
Arceus, this. Whenever I hear his encounter music I nearly scream.
Anyways, I haven't finished the game yet, but so far I like them. I like how different the two are in terms of goals and personality.
I think Cheren is awesome. His awesome glasses, his awesome hair, and an awesome expression on his face. He's also an interesting character who goes through some interesting character development. Overall, one of my favorite characters in B/W.
Bianca, however, is a different story. I didn't like Bianca when I first saw her. I even gave her a nickname that I'd rather not say. Overtime, she sort of grew on me, and while I still make snarky comments about her, I don't hate her like I did at first.
Cheren thinks the only reason to life is to get strong until he gets his ass handed to him multiple times, and even then it had to be spelled out for him.
Bianca realized her limits, and decided to look for another path in life rather than pursuing an unattainable goal. She still chose to travel around despite knowing that she's not going to be a top-tier trainer like the PC and Cheren (both of whom beat the Elite 4). In the end, she asks herself what she could do to help the PC fight team Plasma knowing that her battling skills wouldn't be of much help, yet that's self obsessed? And that's hollow? Really? Compared to Cheren who was basically "Power is the only reason to live, once I get it, what's the point" and then "What is true strength?"
Bianca has more levels of complexity than people give her credit for, and her helping out Juniper was actually hinted at mid-game.
But yes, Cheren is in fact an ass. Bigger than Gary mother fucking Oak.
And it is also Bianca who calls the gym leaders to help you out when sages attack you in N's castle.
I kinda feel sorry for Bianca.
I feel like doing a pity loss.
Cheren is alright...
