Thread: VG Weekly Poll #9: Who was the hardest Gym Leader?

Welcome to the ninth installment in the Video Games Forum's new weekly series of polls!

Centered around the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott, and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

With that out of the way, here is the poll: Who was the hardest Gym Leader? Each new main series game brings 8 new Gyms to challenge; but which one is the hardest?

Due to the large amount of options; I'd rather not have to list all of them as a poll xD. Still, once the first week is done, I will tally the results.

I'd say Bugsy. Technican Quick Attack killed my team. I was surprised by how hard his Scyther was to beat. All other leaders in the games I've played haven't given me much trouble.

In my first play trough HG I knew almost nothing about pokemon. And I generaly only catch male pokemon. So Whitney's Miltank's Rollout CRUSHED me.

I have to say Clair. I almost always find dragon type Pokemon hard to beat. The only time they weren't hard was when I used my Rivalry Fraxure (now a Haxorus) against Drayden in Pokemon Black. She OHKO'd his whole team. :P

Whitney was evil. Especially since my main Pokémon, Quilava and Zubat, were both weak to Rollout, which never missed for me. Milk Drink was hassle too. That was the first time my Quilava ever fainted.

Clair definately. It was so hard to beat her Kingdra.

Whitney is going to win I bet you ten bucks but yeah Whitney in II was aweful that fucking Miltank!!! I would love some Miltank burgers any takers?

Whitney was easy.

Fantina in Platinum was probably the most difficult

All easy for the most part, but Falkner was hardest for me.

10 bucks? I'd bet everything I own that she wins lol

Whitney's really the only gym leader who's ever given me so much trouble.

Norman was the hardest to beat for me on my first two runs through Sapphire. His Vigoroth was always faster than my Pokémon and hit really hard. ;_;

Oh yeah, I forgot about Norman. He was a pain in the butt. xP

But I still don't think he quite gave me as much trouble as Clair did.

I never had a huge problem with Whitney because I used a lot of female Pokemon against her.

The hardest for me were Clair, Bugsy (until my Slugma I got as an egg through the Primo code bailed me out), and Brock in Yellow.

Back in the original Gold and Silver, I had a fair bit of trouble with Whitney but Clair would have definitely been the hardest. The only other Gym leaders I can think of who gave me trouble were Watson, Norman and Winona when I first played Ruby.

Whitney and Norman gave me some FUUUUUUU! moments, but the most annoying for me was CANDICE.
No, not the actual battle, but the gym was SO BORING AND ANNOYING in DPPl. (In other gyms it was bearable)
Seriously, who slides on ice all day anyway? I hope they change it for the remake in Gen VI
