Thread: VG Weekly Poll #8: Favourite Fire/Fighting Starter?

Combusken/Blaziken, definitely. IMO, the best balance of moves/stats. Plus, it's the best-looking.

It's a very close tie between Blaziken and Infernape for me. Both are good battlers and have great designs. Blaziken was my first starter, Infernape's helped me a ton in the Battle Tower. I think I'm going with Infernape. I like the look of Emboar but I haven't used one yet.

I used all three and do to gen 4 moves Infernape was the most useful. My emboar is really slow and it gets knocked out easily.

Difficult choice.

Blaziken's a good mix attacker, Infernape has a cool design, and Emboar's got better coverage than the other two. Emboar could easily beat them with Scald (that is if wasn't so darn slow). I'd go with Infernape on this one since Blaziken is now uber material, and Emboar has very little fighting moves to abuse its secondary type.

Blaziken. No special reason, I just like it better then the other two.

I never thought I could hate ANY Hoenn Pokemon, but Blaziken has made her way to the list. ._. Overrated, just like stupid Charizard. I'm thoroughly tempted to NOT choose a Torchic in any RSEmake that shows up. OTL Ugh.

Infernape and Emboar tie for me, because of what inspired the two of them. Two great Pokemon coming from one of the greatest stories of all time, and "usefullness" in battle doesn't matter much to me at all these days. That said, put Emboar with a Trick Room team and watch Blaziken's "oh so spectaculary uber Speed Boost" turn against her. ._. Hmph.

Definitely Emboar. Blaziken was just awful, and while Infernape was pretty awesome, it can't measure up against the awesome Mega Fire Pig. <3

I think this is also why I'm fine with there being so many Fire/Fighting starters - they keep improving every time.

Blaziken was my first Level 100, and thus holds a special place in my (Pokemon) heart.

Blaziken's design is just..... not that great, and the Baconator doesn't really have the speed to be able to use it's moves. Infernape. It's the only one of the three I've really used anyway.

Blaziken has an alright design and origin, but what I love about it is Speed Boost, which makes Blaziken a freaking beast in battle.
Ganonpork Emboar has an awesome design and origin, but its defences are too weak for it to truly abuse its high HP and be a wall/tank.

Design and origin wise, Infernape is my favourite of the three. It's IMO the best starter choice in DPPt, and has awesome Attack and Special Attack (104 Base Attack and Special Attack) as well as Speed (108 Base Speed).

Yes Blaziken would be my favourite Fire/Fighting starter of all time and to make it even better it's now got "Speed Boost". How more amazing can it get lol

Infernape. Why? beacause It was my first fully evolved starter pokemon.
