Stupid problem? Probably. But I think it's hardly serious. It doesn't cause anything but a waste of time.

Meanwhile, battling needs a revamped online with more urgency.

Besides, you are already trading hacked pokémon yourself. You in particular shouldn't be affected by that. Give the pokémon things that make it an obvious hack that sets off all the checks and call it a day.

Trading with the Negotiations feature is cool, but battling is kinda meh, doesn't allow for much creativity.
