Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
@Kelleo
So, a dark type T-Rex with 100/134/119/95/100/61 stats, the ability to produce one of the best weathers in the game, an extremely wide movepool and a consistent ranking in the top 5 of the standard metagame tier is not a good Pokemon? I mean sure, he has lots of weaknesses and dies to Fighting priority, but he also wrecks stuff, can serve as a Pursuit trapper, revenge killer, set up sweeper or banded sweeper, can get a hefty Sp. Def boost just by coming out of its Pokeball and provides permanent sandstorm. If you don't like him, that's fine, but he's not mediocre, he's an excellent Pokemon.
What about Hydreigon?
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
Tyranitar also has a 4x weakness to fighting. My Lopunny in Platinum was easily able to beat one and this was a WiFi match.
As for Hydreigon, considering its ability cuts its accuracy, yeah. I'd rather use something else.

Dragonite, Garchomp, Salamence and even Rayquaza have a 4x weakness to Ice. Volcarona has a 4x weakness to Rock. Scizor, Ferrothorn and Forretress have a 4x weakness to Fire. Are they weak Pokemon?
Hydreigon's ability is Levitate. Deino and Zweilous have Hustle.

Then you've must've fought a bad Tyranitar because a good Tyranitar wouldn't have been pulverized that easily. It's 4x weakness wouldn't matter due to how it's backed up by great bulk (100/119/100). As for Hydreigon, it ditches the Hustle ability with Levitate when it fully evolves.
Edit: Ninja'd!

My bad, I thought all three had Hustle.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
None, all types have their roles. I don't see any nor want to see any changes in the type chart.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
I said poison. I never actually use that type. Theres a few others that need a bit more attention though like ice. I never use bug, but I think they did some great bug types in gen 5.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
Either Ice or Poison, though the former seems almost akin to a glass canon. Poison probably needs the most help right now though.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
As much as I love the Poison type I do believe it needs a bit more attention than the other types. In Gen 5 they gave the Bug type a boost with the likes of Volcarona and Genesect, so maybe in Gen 6 they can perhaps boost the Poison type status to make the Pokemon in this category more useable than they currently are.
For example in Gen 5 they introduced the move Quiver Dance, which really helps bug types to become a threat on the battlefield. It's simple things like introducing a really useful Poison type move that could boost their reputation as a type and also introducing similar new Pokemon, or even a legendary Poison type in the future could be beneficial to this type.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
Poison could use more love. The large abundance of Poison-types in Generation 1 was pretty awesome.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
I voted Ice because, well, it only resists itself. Also, I really don't like any Ice type, at all. I can think of a favorite for the others, but I never use Ice. Only thing good about it is that it hits most dragons really hard. Poison is obvious as well. It is strong against grass, and that's it. Put in a poison legendary, a dragon/poison pseudo-legendary, or a poison/dark type with levitate so it can wall that much better. Give these types a little love Nintendo.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
Am I the only one who thinks Poison is beyond help? It's been five generations and they still haven't improved it. I just can't see how they would ever make it effective or appealing.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
Poison. Hands down. Only super-effective against Grass does not cut it. It should be made super-effective against Bug, Water, Fighting, and Normal at the very least. I'd personally love to see it be made super-effective against Dragon, but there's no real logic behind it.
Re: VG Weekly Poll #33 Which type needs more attention?
I voted for Electric. Sure, it may not be as desperate as the other types, but I want more Electric-typed Pokemon.

Some suggest making it super effective against water. Whether that truly is enough or not is up to debate though. They'd likely still have problems even if they were super effective against water.
