Well, my Chople Berry Tyranitar totally survived a Close Combat from an Infernape! Also, my Garchomp is the best sweeper ever! He OHKO'd a Shuckle, with only one Swords Dance boost!

I have to get good at nicknaming pokemon because of nuzlockes.
I just tend to nickname anything I use for my team, personally. (Even if I often have unoriginal names for them xD)
I usually just nickname in game, but not often. Only if I have a good idea. (I have a great idea for a nickname for the Riolu/Lucario in B2W2!)
I usually don't at first for box Pokémon, but lately I've been trying to complete my Pokédex, which involves levelling up and evolving almost all of my box Pokémon. So I nickname them when they're in my party so I feel closer to them. (Yes, I know they're just some pixels. But they have hearts too. :3)
I lol'd at "Magikarp" the Arceus.
Some of mine are:
Firebreath the Charizard
Smugleaf the Serperior
Chili the Typhlosion
Crasher W. the Feraligatr
Erika the Meganium
Wildfire the Blaziken
Burner the Infernape
Killer the Mewtwo
Washout the Simipour
Hydra the Blastoise
Kaboom the Elctrode
Rock on the Golem
Yes, but only the ones I plan to use.
In other words, 99% of 'em.
I name starter Pokémon and then try to give them themed nicknames...but then I get bored...
When I started playing Pokémon pearl I had a team of: Padfoot (Bidoof), Prongs (Shinx), Wormtail (can't remember) and Mooney (Zubat)
But then after that I was too lazy to nickname the other Pokémon.
Usually I'll name dog pokemon after my pets. Like I have a Lillipup named Rufus.
I usually nickname all the Pokemon I catch. I don't usually nickname the Pokemon that I trade in the GTS.
I don't nickname any of the Pokemon I catch. I'm terrible at thinking up of different names and it would be difficult for coming up with nicknames for even the Pokemon on my main team.
I am bad with nicknames, so I avoid it.
Nope. Why?
Well, I got the habit when I was a gullible kindergardener. My brother's friend said it made pokemon weaker.
But once, I tried nicknaming my Luxray "Luxi" to see how I would feel. Yeah, I didn't like it. I changed it back to Luxray. (That name is so cool...Luxray...it flows...)
I nick name my Pokemon since to me, it adds on to their personality. When I nickname a Pokemon, I will usually spend some time hunting online for a name that I think would fit the Pokemon. Then I end up writing a whole back-story on the Pokemon I've nicknamed. :)
Can't help it, I like being creative :)
I don't nickname them at all I'm not creative lol :p
