Yes - and I am looking forward to his role in BW2 as well. I wonder if he still keeps his ideals, or if he changed.
Dangerous Circus
Holy Arceus, the second option dominates the poll, and it's understandable, as that's more or less what he realizes at the end.
no matter how much we (I) love N, he was misguided, but he had good intent, so thats all that matters.
In B/W, I thought that N made some pretty good points and I could definitely see where he was coming from, especially with how he was raised in mind, but ultimately, he was misguided. He had good intentions in mind and he clearly cared deeply for Pokemon, but he didn't quite think it all the way through. He didn't think about how the Pokemon who loved their trainers would feel about being separated from them or see how punishing everyone for what some trainers have done to their Pokemon would be really unfair. The ideals made sense given his upbringing and what he saw of the world, but he was still misguided in the end.
I'm going to be that one person who believes he was wrong. Not only wrong, but a hypocrite at that. If he truly believed Pokemon needed to be liberated from people, if he TRULY did, I don't see how he could use them in battle. Even if he released them afterward, that didn't stop him from battling me like five times.
We're taught that Pokemon and people are supposed to be friends and partners. He was set on the idea that ALL humans were abusive to Pokemon and should not have them. In that aspect, he was wrong. Yes, because he was misguided and brainwashed, but still wrong.
Actually, his ideals could be summed up as "Pokémon should be separated from entities that abuse them", which is completely reasonable. What made him do drastic things wasn't his ideals, really, but the 'facts' brainwashed into him, such as "All trainers are abusive" and "Pokémon dislike battles". So, in a way, there was nothing wrong with N's ideals, and they weren't even unusual.
