I've only tipped 100 Pokedollars to at least 3/4 of the time when I can tip.
I don't want to spend too much on something that's unconfirmed, but if it does change the shiny rate, I'll probably start tipping more.

Don't forget... To you, I am... in love with the hope that is sleeping within you.

I always tip $1000 whenever I'm given the opportunity. Not because I'm expecting any kind of benefit from it, I just do it because it makes me feel rich.

I've been tipping basically everyone and didn't even hear of this rumour until now. But besides, I've played every pokemon game since yellow, and I still have never encountered a wild shiny ..

I love how playground rumors are coming back, like this being linked to shinies. (That said, I haven't seen another one since my day 1 Psyduck. And that was before I could tip.)

The curious part is that you can tip the same person more than once. I have doubts that giving more than the P1000 max affects anything, but I always give P500 per person, hoping that some fresh info will come out soon. Whatever it is, I'll be in the middle-range this file.

I always tip 1000, because they have families to feed.

No clue if it does anything but I always drop money on the tips.

I tip, hoping there is a hidden counter.....maybe it'll just be some sort of achievement/medal.

I have tipped the photo guy between 100 or 500 for each photo (depending on the photo), I even paid 1000 in front of the Pokemon League. However, I haven't found a shiny yet. I'm just doing extras right now.
You think the new character and Pokemon designs suck. Well, my art degree says your arguments are invalid.

Only tipped twice or thrice ($100) each and got a shiny zangoose

Is tipping really linked to shinies?

I mean it does occur here but it's not that common, whereas in the states you tip for everything don't you, it's like a national mindset!!!

Don't tip in real life, not gonna tip in game either.
Well a majority of food and drink services in the US have employees that depend on tips.

Well, as a general rule in the UK you only tip for service that is genuinely worth it. Also, never tip when the receipt has a 'service charge'. That's a scam, right there.

In the US, "service charge" can signify that they are exploiting a loophole to pay below minimum wage. So the service charge is actually only bringing the person to earning what they should without a tip, while also making the meal/etc. seem likes it costs less. Tips can be a considerable portion of income, since the restaurant probably is paying terribly under the excuse that the person can earn money through tips.

    I always tip 1000$. Because I'm nice.

...And maybe in case it does something that affects the game.

I always tip the most I can in the game, so far close to 20k in tips. This consists of 10k tip from the one star restaurant, multiple tips to the photography guy, and a 2 tips to the people in Battle Chateau. So far nothing different about my game.

I agree, although I do really hope they hack the game/3DS soon so that me and my Action Replay can play the game my way, one of the small perks of not hacking yet is the return of these almost playground style rumours. Between Gen 4 and Gen 5, everything was so quick and easy to confirm, so any of these rumous could be checked instantly and proven true or false, now some are returning again.

I will always have fond memories of trying to go to Johto in Ruby as we all just assumed it would be in it as Kanto was in GSC, I must have wasted hours trying to get to Johto truly believing it was in the game.
