When I threw my Master Ball to catch Rayquaza in Emerald, I thought that there would be a chance that it would break out.

And some time while playing Platnium, I thought that Water was Super-Effective against Steel.

I'm a full time Pokemon Breeder! But please visit, I really do appreciate the help.

"Hold down and B and you'll turn a normal Poke Ball into a Master Ball!"

To this day, I still do this. Even though it's completely useless, I can't stop myself from holding down on the D pad and B at the same time. >.<

    Let's see...

Pressing A will help you catch/damage a pokemon.
    Poison was SE against Fighting.
Fire was SE against Koffing and Weezing. (This was the anime's fault.)
The Gastly line was not weak to Psychic.

I believed a lot of silly stuff like Mew and that truck, Bill's secret garden behind his house, and being able to somehow find Togepi in Red and Blue...

    A few button pressing things:
Pressing the > Button would make an attack hurt my pokemon less as the bar went down.
Pressing the < Button would cause an enemy pokemon to lose more HP as teh bar went down.
Hold down A and the Pokeball will never fail!

I still do all the button stuff.
An IceFox who prefers fire types? That's... interesting.
I'm more partial to blues and greens as well~

Ice was SE to water. I even checked bulbapedia before posting this...

I'm pretty sure we all did the dpad spamming some time or another. XD But then again, Pokemon players are renowned for the fanaticism. I mean, look at this site, for cryig out loud.

Of course there was always the mew under the truck in red.

And to this day I still smash the 'A' button when I'm using pokeballs.

But did anyone else think that if you went to the space center in Hoenn that you could talk to the launch number guy and get on at a certain launch? Me and my friends always thought you could go to the moon and get Jirachi, or Deoxys...

Mashing A WILL help catch pokemon, defeat trainers, and make sure moves hit, BUT it gives you more of a chance of hitting yourself if you are confused.

Because of all the Grass/Poison types in Gen 1, I thought Grass was resistant against Fighting.
Since the introduction of Gallade, I thought Gardevoir became pure female. Ah well. xP

I thought Global Link would finally work for me today.. I guess not. I've tried several times to get onto that website, I just keep getting Error Codes, System Maintenance, Internet connection drops and it ran out of "synergy" because I had been on it when clearly I haven't because it hasn't worked for me in months. :u

I actually didn't believe any of the rumours on the net or from other kids. Instead I believed my own rumours.XD

In the original RB I believed that if I had Pikachu fire a Thunder attack against as many wild Pokemon as possible that Thunder's accuracy will eventually hit 100%.XD

Boy I was disappointing to find out years later that you couldn't train accuracy.

I also said to a friend when I won a battle with a bayleef against a legendary that was already weakened by my prior Pokemon that it won because it loved me better.

Don't ask, I really had a crazy imagination.

I too, thought that pressing a certain key command will make capturing Pokemon easier. Something like B + Up? Those were the days (in a bad way) where it was easier to mislead people... nowadays it is not as easy to mislead fans with rumours in later Generations.

I thought that Haunter could evolve into Gengar through levelling, but when my friend told me that it could evolve only through trade, it was basically not cool knowing that. Another thing I thought was that Slowbro evolved into Slowking, so when I see that Slowpoke evolved into Slowking, I was surprised.

    Thanks for reading.

Yeah, I thought Slowbro evolved into Slowking for the longest time.

And I thought Steel was weak to Dark.

I just thought of another one. As a kid I trained a staryu to an extremely high level until I finally realised staryu was not going to learn Spinning tackle.

I blame the early episodes of the dub for that. Since they made Misty say spinning tackle instead of tackle I thought it was a different move and since it seemed so strong I thought it was the ultimate move that staryu could learn.XD
    I even bragged to my brother that my staryu was going to learn it and everything. Boy I felt dumb afterwards finding out it was actually a simple tackle with spinning added in front of it.^-^;;;;

    I believed that Mew was under the truck, Yoshi could be obtained, and the Mossdeep space center would send me off to Deoxys if the launch number reached 100. I was excited to get rare Pokemon. XD;
