Not every aspect, but certainly the clothes they portray us in. Isshu is based off of New York, after all.

Again, Isshu being inspired by New York doesn't mean the entire game has to reflect American culture bit by bit, even going by the clothes of Trainer classes. And c'mon, you aren't being represented there because the Pokémon World isn't exactly the same one as the Earth.

^ Just like how the other regions do not represent Japanese culture completely.

Look, it's their first time doing something like this. If they went as far as making bridges correct and buildings approproate and evening adding stuff like American Football players (with a field to boot), they could've at least given the same attention to detail in the trainer sprites.

I mean... even the trainer sprites are all of the same style. Scientists and Hikers and Parasol-carriers and Rangers. Not to mention no diversity in any of those. What happened to the meaning of the word Isshu, "Diverse but One."

That's also insulting if New York is considered all of America.

Japan seems to have realized that America has the hottest chicks.

Close inspection of his artwork actually shows his Sugimori art is like that too.

EDIT: Bulbapedia picture isn't noticeable but close-up of the corocoro magazine from Pokebeach is:

It's just one region, meaning that they can use other parts of America (in this case, I'm assuming that by saying "America" = U.S., not all the continent) for future games set in the same country in which Isshu is located. Moreover, isn't New York one of the cities with the most diverse cultural and racial representation of the U.S.?

How is that a sailor outfit? It just looks like your typical dress to me.

Honestly I don't see anything that remotely looks like a sailor outfit. Unless you have a real life picture to compare.

So am I the only one who's fine with the sailor look? I'm loving these sprites, especially b-ball boy Joey.

His eyes seem much tinier in the games, though, and the lack of White around his pupils is much more clear. Maybe it's just me, though.

*lol* Since when did Carmen Sandiego live in the pokemon world?

Also the pre-schoolers are adorable. I love the little girl!

Doesn't it seem contradictory that a manual of one of the earlier games say you "have" to be eleven to be on a Pokemon journey but somehow these little "squirts" have Pokemon. Or does that only apply to the starter Pokemon?

And I also like the female scientist too (along with the girl with blue hair (pig/pony tails).

I guess they realized that and made the Player Character older, so then the "squirts" seem like they're ten
