ROFL female wobby has lipstick XD
I basically now disagree with 90% of everything I've ever said under this screen name. :(

Indeed. :/ Since the differences tend to be so minor in most of the pokemon, was it really too much to ask that they add gender differences to more pokemon? I can understand not doing every single pokemon.. but still.

Although maybe most of my disapointment stems from the fact that the majority of my favorites were the ones left out. XD Ah well. Female Wobby with lipstick for the win!

Very nice x) but I think I'll stick to my current version, the clear sprite stands out poorly on the dark blue background of the neoclassic skin :[

I would like to take a moment to note that these were the exact sprites I was getting before I refined my algorithm. It's not perfect, as I mentioned, but works somewhat better.

To be honest, I'm very happy with the gender differences. Instead of making it into a sexist kind of thing by stereotypically giving male Gardevoir different clothing or female Machoke a bra, they went for realism - female bugs with a larger abdomen, males with larger horns, etc. Instead of going out of their way to try to give everything random gender differences, they made gender differences that simply made sense, plus a humourous Wobbuffet and a definite proof that Ash's Pikachu is male.

Wow, the Sprites look a lot more dynamic and fluid in this game, like they come from the animated cut-scenes in Gen III.

And could someone point out gender differences? Because aside from Venusaur's flower and Pikachu's tail - I ain't seeing many.

Is their a Dex Option too see them side by side?

I've heard that whichever gender seen first is the one put in the dex, but I'm not sure about that.

That's it so far. I'm sure there are more, though. Most of 'em are so minor, you really don't see them unless you look at the sprites side-by-side or one right after another.

Also, behold my inability to remember the Japanese names and my laziness to not look them up!

First and middle landshark evo: slice out of fin
Poison dart frog first evo: location of white stripes
Poison dart frog final evo: size of throat thing
The pretty blue fish with big fins: size of fins
Ice/Grass first evo: extra brown stripe
    Piloswine evo: tusk length
    Aipom evo: length of hair
Mitsuhoney? (er.. that honeycomb thing): red dot in center, bottom face different
Electric lion things: longer hair on the males
    Korobooshi: bigger yellow thing
    Korobooshi evo: length of mustache

There might be a difference with the curly-tailed cat.. but I it's very small so I can't tell if it's a difference or just a sprite that needs a better clean-up job. And I could have sworn someone said there was a gender difference with Pocchama, but I don't see it on those sprites. And I thought someone on Serebii said the beaver evo had an extra ring on its tail for one gender. Maybe I was mistaken, though.

the best way to compare the sprites is to open to windows, one with the males, one with the females and bring them at the exact same place and switch between the windows quickly. I found every little detail with this methode.

To be honest, I think it is nearly impossible to notice many difference without that trick because the differences are SO minor.

I think the basic rules are:

Bug pokemon- males have bigger/different horns

pokemon with hair/fur- males have more

plant pokemon- different lenght of antennas or tentacles

I love Wobbuffet´s female sprite, I wish they had done more differences like that.

Some of my favourite Pokemon didn´t get differences,..man,..

Corsola could have different colour pattern/other horns

Whiscash´s whiskers could have been handeled similar to gyarados´...

And why does only one starter each gen ( and NONE in the new one) have gender differences?

Because the starters are based on animals which look the same whether they're male or female?
