Syoomai sounds good. Depending on the design it could work really well! But I hope we get a new SHELLOS color sheme. Yellow-purple and red-darkblue!

Dwebble and Crustle aren't bugs either.
They are at least in the Phylum Arthropoda. Slugs and snails are in the Phylum Mollusca.

Since this is a supposed split evolution, it must need a shell and be traded/leveled in order to evolve (I think). Where will you get the shell?

Why, you'd steal it from a passing Shelmet of course!

They are bug types and japanese call hermit crabs bugs, even in Animal crossing, Hermit crabs go to the bug section not the fish for example but yeah they are crabs not bugs, even though I believe crabs and spiders are related somehow.

Actually, "Myuujii" is a pretty simple corruption of "music", so it's possible Gamefreak came up with the idea independently of that show. Or they didn't and part or all of these rumors are false.

What if Myuugii is the pre-evolved form of Noivern?

And what if Noivern is the new pseudo-legendary?

I think Myuuji is supposed to be a psychic type, so I doubt it's connected to Noivern.
Thanks to MorruMaster14 for the awesome Broompoleon sprite!

Pokemon names in Japan are even simpler than the American names a lot of times, basically rather easy pun combinations or straight up English words, it's really not that out of the realm of possibility that they'd do a pun another series did in the past.

Zubat, for example, is ズバット which is also the name of a tokusatsu hero.

I found a pretty legit-looking fennekin final evo, with convincing proof.

Where does the word, Syoomai, come from, though?

Why weren't (Shelmet) and Gastrodon Bug-types, too?

EDIT: I meant Shellos and Gastrodon, not Shelmet.

    Shelmet is a Bug-type.

I believe "mai" can mean snail, or its part of the word for snail at least. The first part I *think* could perhaps be from the english words "shore" or "shoal" given the type, but I'm not sure if that's the correct way to write the initial "sho" in katakana.

Why would they write syo instead of sho?

I meant Shellos instead of Shelmet.

There's different ways to romanticize katakana. sunyshore's original post used "shohmai".

And it's probably not a Shellos evolution, if real. The post sunyshore found the rumor originally didn't mention that, it was probably added as it got passed around through the fandom.
