THANK YOU. 'nuff said. It's really not that feminine-exclusive. So it's a girly-lookin' pogey. You know what? Machamp's a dudey-lookin' pogey. It's got a 'package' down there and everything; why didn't they make that a dude from the start? They did with Tauros.Gardevoir has a somewhat feminine haircut combined with what looks like a low cut dress, that one's almost a given. So the name is knight, still doesn't change the fact that its feminine.
If how a pokémon looked determined gender, there would be a LOT more one-gender only pokémon, and that sucks. What makes Gardevoir any more feminine than Loppuny, as noted, or Mienshao, or Medicham? So girly. Why isn't Meloetta gendered? Cresselia is and that's less-gender-looking than most legendaries. Or why aren't the Timburr-line, the Abra-line, and the Tepig-line male only? They're final evos just scream "man". Probopass, hey, another lady with a 'stache; make it a dude!
Why aren't the Hitmons gender neutral? They aren't overly masculine. Neither is Braviary when compared to how barbarian lady-like Mandibuzz is. Gee, gender. It's so subjective, it's almost bias. Who are we to determine something should only be one gender just because it "looks" like that gender?
No gender issue is gonna be retconned, for certain, as long as backwards compatibility remains in play. Otherwise, they would have fixed Azurill already and would have "corrected" Glalie and Gardevoir at the same time. And if they "correct" those, they might as well "correct" all the gender-questiony pogeys. All the dragons except Altaria would be dudes, because clearly Altaria is a stereotypical femmy dragon in comparison to the manry dragons like Haxorus and Garchomp, and sure, let's make Dragonite a dude, too. Even though its prevos are so girly and pretty. So it'll switch genders. I mean, Dragonair is the least masculine looking dragon of the bunch; no way it should be male. And Lucario! Shit, that's male. So male. Awesomely butch; no chicks allowed. Onix and all those rock-types just shouldn't have genders, because they don't look masculine or feminine. And most fighting-types should just be all male; god, who would want a female Scrafty? Girls aren't thugs.
Dude, Gothitelle; you'd think GF would have learned their lesson from Gardevoir and Gallade and made the emo-chick 100% female...but the fact they haven't? It tells you that gender limitation isn't solely based on appearance; it's based on the species origin.
See where I'm going? There is waaaaaaaay too much concern over Gardevoir being a female-appearing pokémon that can be either gender. But where others argue "IT'S SO FEMININE," anyone else can take the entire dex and do the same thing with every other pogey we got. So gender concerns are just an aesthetic retcon that really has no impact on gameplay and takes further away from a player's overall team gender preference.
deal with it.
that said, i would like miltank and tauros to be retconned to breed the other. :/
